Minecraft was released in 2011 by Mojang Studios. It’s a sandbox 3D game that continues to trend and gain more players as the years roll over. In 2023, the number of Minecraft players reached and exceeded 180 million. It lets you build, interact, and explore 3D structures.

You can be a solo player or multiplayer. Multiplayer allows you to play with close friends or international players. You can experience this by hosting or renting a Minecraft server, but we recommend the latter.

In this piece, we explore the benefits of renting a Minecraft server, what to consider before renting one, and how you can rent it.

Why You Should Rent a Minecraft Server?

You can play Minecraft for free on your computer as a solo player. Multiplayer options include hosting a local server on your computer and hosting it online (renting). The latter benefits more than playing for free or hosting a local server.

Benefits of renting a Minecraft server include:

It Costs Less

Hosting a server may seem like a good idea initially, but it’s expensive. You have to run your computer 24/7. It consumes a lot of electricity, costing you around $650 annually. However, there are affordable hosting providers like ScalaCube that offer hosting a Minecraft server for as low as $2 per month.

You Have Full Control Over Gameplay

Minecraft-shaders

You gain complete control over game rules. This means that you can adjust game settings to your liking. You can do this through in-game settings like adjusting resources, health, and damage. On top of that, you can enhance game difficulty and add creativity to game modes by creating new challenges.

It Has Low Latency and Allows Fast Connectivity

Compared to hosting, renting a Minecraft server allows you to play smoothly. It’ll enable fast connectivity speeds, and you won’t be distracted by buffering while playing. However, hosting a local server while relying on an internet service provider can result in a slow connectivity speed.

You can barely enjoy the game with low speeds due to constant “loading” distractions. This also uses a lot of bandwidth. As a result, you won’t be able to use your internet for anything besides hosting the Minecraft server and playing the game.

You Can Host More Players

Renting a Minecraft server means accessing a robust hardware machine that hosts many other players. It’s solely used to host the Minecraft game, so there’s no competition for its resources. As a result, there’s reduced lag and smoother gameplay for each hosted player.

It’s Available 24/7

As mentioned above, hosting a server means your computer has to be on 24/7. If it goes off for some reason, then you’ll find no players when you turn it on. You’ll have to start afresh with getting players back into gameplay.

When renting a server, on the other hand, its operation isn’t affected by you switching off your computer. It continues to run from the hosting service you’re renting, and you’ll find it running when you turn your computer on to return to the game.

Things to Consider When Renting a Minecraft Server

It’s essential to do your research before renting a Minecraft server. Like anything you spend your money on, it must work in your favor by covering most of what you’re looking for. These are the elements to consider when searching for a good Minecraft server:

Its Performance

The best Minecraft server service platforms are transparent about performance. This is made up of the RAM, CPU, and Bandwidth. These can determine whether you’ll have hiccups or smooth gameplay while renting the server.

RAM is Random Access Memory and influences the quantity of data the server can handle at once. It’s affected by the amount of players a server hosts. With enough RAM, you can load game elements quickly and have fewer lags or delays. So, it should be 2GB for one to two players, 5GB for two to six players, and 8GB for more than six players, and so on.

CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It allows a quick navigation of game features, processes player actions fast, and the ability to use various game technologies simultaneously. It must be at least 2GHz or more for decent performance.

Bandwidth handles the transmission of data between the server and players. High bandwidth enables quick responsiveness and lower latency, allowing data to move swiftly between the parties. It should be at least 45 Mbit/s for six or more players.

The Costs

The rental cost of a Minecraft server varies with different providers. Prices are affected by the standard of the server and the resources that come with it. Some servers allow you to customize your servers to adjust their features to what you can afford. Others come with various tiers containing specific attributes that determine the price.

Most providers have monthly and annual billing plans. Annual billing plans are cost-effective and usually come with a discount. So, opting for an annual plan means you won’t have to worry about paying for a while and pay less than you’d have if you had opted for a monthly plan.

Customer Support

Check if the Minecraft server provider offers support. Ideally, this should be available 24/7 with quick, accurate responses that won’t distract or delay your gameplay.

How to Rent A Minecraft Server

Are you ready to rent a Minecraft server but aren’t sure how? Follow our steps below:

 1. Choose a Provider

Use the above qualities to choose a good Minecraft server provider.

 1. Select a Plan

You’ll find different plans with different features and prices. So, ensure you select the package that addresses your needs and is within your budget.

 1. Set Up the Server

To set up your Minecraft server, you have to:

 • Sign in to the provider’s site and navigate to the dashboard.
 • Install the Minecraft server.
 • Customize server settings, i.e., mode and difficulty.
 • Ensure that the server is accessible to other players before starting it.
 • Try connecting to the server on Minecraft to see if it’s working.
 • Let friends and other fellow players know about the server and how they can join it.

In Closing

Renting a Minecraft server is more beneficial than hosting one in many ways. It costs less and doesn’t need you to ensure your computer runs 24/7 to keep players who’ve joined worldwide. On top of that, you have control over gameplay, and you can choose a package with the player capacity you’re looking for.

You also won’t have to worry about connectivity speed, data processing, and transmission, as most providers ensure seamless gameplay by taking care of their performance elements.

When it comes to gaming headsets, there are plenty of options on the market, but the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 wouldn’t be everyone’s first choice. Being Bluetooth first tends to rule it out for Xbox and PlayStation. However, as they deliver on sound quality, comfort, and portability, they are not only a fantastic choice for PC, Steamdeck, and Switch but using the cable on consoles works great too.

Design and Comfort

The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones have a sleek and modern design that looks great on your head. The ear cups are large and fit comfortably around your ears, providing plenty of cushioning to prevent discomfort during long gaming sessions. The headband is also padded and adjustable, making it easy to get the perfect fit.

Sound Quality

When it comes to sound quality, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones don’t disappoint. They have large 40mm drivers that deliver powerful bass and clear highs, making it easy to pick up on all the audio cues in your game. Whether you’re playing a fast-paced shooter or a slow and thoughtful RPG, these headphones will provide the audio fidelity you need to get fully immersed in your gaming experience.

Connectivity Options

One of the standout features of the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones is their versatility when it comes to connectivity options. The headphones come with a 3.5mm audio cable that can be used to connect to your Xbox or PS5 controller or any other device with a headphone jack. They also work seamlessly with the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, making them a great choice for gamers who like to switch between different devices. The multipoint support means they can connect to two devices simultaneously which sounds useful, if a little confusing.

Noise Isolation

The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones has fantastic noise isolation. The ear cups fit snugly around your ears, creating a tight seal that blocks out external noise. This is especially useful for gamers who want to fully immerse themselves in their game without being distracted by outside noise.

Microphone Quality

Amazingly, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones also come with a built-in microphone that delivers surprisingly clear audio quality. Whether you’re chatting with friends during an online game or recording audio for a YouTube video, the microphone will pick up your voice with surprising clarity and precision. Obviously, they don’t compare to a dedicated professional mic such as the Joby Wavo Pod Mic, but for team chat or streaming, they are solid.

Overall, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones are a great choice for gamers who want a versatile and comfortable headset that delivers on sound quality. With their sleek design, comfortable fit, and versatile connectivity options, these headphones are a great choice for gamers of all levels.

I’ve been using the Joby Wavo Plus Mic for the past few weeks for all of my video content and I have to say, I’m really impressed. As a video game blogger (and very minor influencer), having a reliable and high-quality microphone is essential for my YouTube work. In this review, I wanted to cover the positives and negatives of the Joby Wavo Plus Mic, but if you don’t have time for all that analysis then know it’s a fantastic piece of equipment that I highly recommend.

on-camera-microphone-joby-wavo-plus

Firstly, the Joby Wavo Plus is the middle child in the Joby on-camera microphone range. The Joby Wavo Mic retails at around £80 / $99, the Wavo Pro is £270 / $320 and this one, the Wavo Plus is around £190 / $230.

One of the best things about the Joby Shotgun Mic is the audio quality. It picks up sounds really clearly and accurately, which is crucial when recording dialogue or interviews. I’ve used it in a variety of settings, from recording voiceovers in my home studio to conducting interviews at conventions, and the audio has always come out crisp and clear. The 3.5mm headphones jack combined with handy volume control allowed me to monitor sound on the go. Combine this with the 100Hz high-pass filter and I was able to reduce low ambient noises dramatically reducing the editing time.

on-camera-microphone-joby-wavo-plus

Another great feature of the Joby Shotgun Mic is its compact and lightweight design. I had been using the Rode shotgun mic previously and whilst it is a great mic, it’s a lot bigger and takes up valuable room in my camera bag. The Joby Shotgun mic is easy to set up and transport, which makes it perfect for on-the-go recording.

The Joby Shotgun Mic also has a built-in shock mount, which helps to reduce unwanted noise and vibrations. This is especially useful when recording in a noisy environment, such as a convention floor or gaming event.

One of the downsides of the Joby Shotgun Mic is that it doesn’t come with a built-in battery. However, the auto-power mode that switches the mic on and off by sensing the camera’s behaviour is a “plus”. An LED traffic light system on the front indicates the battery status, changing from green to amber to red when the battery is low.

on-camera-microphone-joby-wavo-plus

Another plus is the -10db safety track to ensure no audio is lost, as well as a second track with safe audio as a backup.

Alongside the mic, there is a variety of cables to connect it to your camera, computer, and even a phone. These cables include

 • TRS to TRS,
 • USB-C to USB-A
 • USB-C to USB-C.

To hear the comparative sound tests, please check out the video review in which I compare the Joby Wavo Plus to the standard camera and the Rode shotgun mic.

Overall, the Joby Wavo Plus Mic is an excellent piece of equipment for anyone looking for a high-quality, compact, and versatile microphone. The audio quality is great, and the compact design makes it easy to transport and set up. The built-in shock mount is a great feature that helps to reduce unwanted noise and vibrations. It doesn’t have all the features of the Wavo Pro but is far superior to the standard Wavo. The lack of a battery may be frustrating to those on longer shoots, but it doesn’t detract from the overall quality of the mic. I highly recommend the Joby Wavo Plus Mic to any YouTuber who likes to get out and about without all the weight and bulk of other microphones.

If this has been useful, please check out my other reviews of the Joby product range such as the Joby Wavo Pod Mic and Joby Wavo Mic Arm.

If you’re a content creator looking for reliable and versatile microphone support, the Joby Wavo Boom Arm is a must-have in your setup. This boom arm is made of a mix of high-quality materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and ABS plastic, making it a sturdy and durable addition to your workspace. At only £87 or $99, this is a great bit of kit.

Joby Wavo Boom Arm

The Wavo Boom Arm is easy to set up and connect to your desktop, thanks to its g-clamp style bracket and winged tightening screw. It also comes with a universal ball head with a 1/4-inch thread, and adapters for both 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch threads, ensuring compatibility with all types of microphones and accessories. With a maximum safety payload of 1kg, you can be confident that your equipment will stay in place while you work. The arm feels sturdy and when removing the mic, it was great to see the arm stay in position. Many mic arms have quite a spring on them, especially when removing the heavy mic head.

Joby Wavo Boom Arm

One of the standout features of the Wavo Boom Arm (apart from its red colouring) is its cable management system. The arm has an integrated cable management slot that keeps your cables tidy and discreet, with red and black strip covers included for customization. This not only helps keep your studio organised, but also contributes to the overall aesthetic of your games setup, office, or home studio.

A fantastic surprise was the fact that the Wavo Boom Arm also comes with some bonus accessories, including an Allen key, cup holder, headphone holder, and table grommet, to make your content creation experience even better. The arm’s rubber-protected desk mount has a unique cup and headphone holder, so you can keep your drinks close at hand and your headphones ready for the next day.

Joby Wavo Boom Arm

Anyone familiar with my channel will know I am a huge fan of the Joby product range, from their first Gorilla tripod to my trusty Wavo Pod Mic, I love my new Joby Wavo Boom Arm. It is an excellent investment for any content creator looking for strong and silent microphone support that offers versatility and customization. With its solid construction, easy setup, and convenient cable management, it’s a must-have for any streamer, podcaster, or content creator.

If you have seen my social media recently, you will have seen that I have a new love in my life and it is the Prism iCue 6209 from Stormforce Gaming. This beautiful custom-built PC has been crafted by the gods… or at least the tech gurus over at Stormforce Gaming. Quiz me on anything video game related and I can hold my own but ask me the difference between a CPU and a GPU and I may look at you blankly

It is for this reason that I drafted the help of Stormforce to recommend me a PC that could meet my list of demands. These included the ability to play Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 3, and Gears 5 without a problem, big enough for me to move over hundreds of my games too, AND powerful enough to run Unreal Engine for my game development projects. Plus it had to last me a fair few years… that’s a tall order for any PC.

And then Stormforce built me a Beast!

beast

The Prism iCue 6209 has an RTX 4090, Ryzen 9 7950X, and needed a bolt of lightning struck on a full mood to activate the ASUS power within.

The Beast’s heart is an AMD Ryzen 9, brand new on the market and super powerful. For graphics, she has an ASUS RTX 4090 and with 64GB of RAM, she can play the world’s most demanding games. For those looking for 4K and VR gaming, the Prism iCue is ready to satisfy your every whim.

insides

It’s been an insane couple of weeks with The Beast, as I made a dent in her 1TB Seagate Gen 4 SSD hard drive. From Hades to Halo, Fallout Shelter to Fallout 4, she has taken these games in her stride.

Similarly, when using Unreal Engine and Unity, my workflow has been smoother and efficiency increased dramatically with smaller load times and faster processing. I have tested this machine simply through my regular resource-heavy processes. From Unreal, I might jump to Adobe or Substance Painter, have usually had 50 Chrome tabs on, Spotify running and who knows what else. The Prism iCue 6209 didn’t break a sweat. As it shouldn’t for almost £4.5k.

Whilst the price tag might seem steep at first, it’s worth noting that trying to build this yourself would likely cost more. A regular Joe buying the components separately would have to pay full retail and have to wait weeks for the various parts. Stormforce Gaming not only have more purchasing power so they can get better deals but also have partnerships with suppliers meaning the whole PC was built and sent in a week. On arrival, the Beast was lovingly packed with a mini airbag around the main ‘expensive’ components for extra security. Assembly was minimal and came with a range of cables, cable management solutions and set-up instructions. Plus all the glass was covered in that film that is just so satisfying to pull off.

The boot sequence is under four seconds and the LED lights inside are just SO beautiful. I finally had a worthy PC to finish off my gaming setup. My curved monitors, Philips smart lighting and Trust MAZZ mechanical keyboard came together to create the games room I always wanted.

The Prism iCue 6209 is a beast with its four fans, stunning interior LEDs, top-of-line parts, and tidy internal cabling. But she also has a heafy footprint measuring around 23cm wide, 42cm high, and almost 50cm deep. You could probably fit 4 Xbox series X in the space this beast takes up. The rear has all the plugs and connectors any tech junkie would need. On the top near the front are some easy-access USB ports and a headphone jack for wired controllers for headphones. I had the Best running for almost 3 days straight as I downloaded a selection of my games and the fans were quiet as a mouse. Even my Luddite wife thought she was impressive and soon grew jealous of all the time we spent together.

So I may find myself divorced and living in a shed but as long as I have my Prism iCue to keep me warm and entertained, I will be a happy gamer.

I can’t thank Stormforce enough for all their advice before I got the PC and even the after-sales emails checking everything was as expected. The free month for Xbox GamePass for PC was also a very nice touch.

If you are looking for a new PC, then it’s worth talking to the team at Stormforce first, as they could offer you something that is built for the way you work. Whether you are a 4K gamer looking to own it in COD or a power-hungry game developer looking to run multiple heavy programs it’s worth checking out their site for some holiday discounts.

The Trust brand is an Amazon staple for budget PC accessories. I have had the £18 keyboard and mouse combo for a while and use it on my Xbox on certain games and as a ‘reconnector’ when my wireless bits lose connection. But they also do impressive, yet affordable gaming keyboards. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Trust Mazz Mechanical Keyboard to compliment my epic Stormforce custom-built gaming PC. But is the Mazz to budget for the big leagues or can it be Trusted to deliver, here is my review of the Trust Mazz Mechanical Keyboard.

Tap The Rainbow

This gaming keyboard has 14 amazing colour modes including mesmerizing light waves that wash rainbows across the keys to explosions that expand out of each key press. When fully lit, the keyboard is a statement piece for any gaming setup. However, for that gaming in dark or backlit rooms may not want to use the key-press options, as the keys are difficult to see without being lit up.

50 Million Keystrokes

The Mazz is built to last boasting switches that will last 50 million keystrokes and should you ever reach that staggering figure, the keys and switches are easily replaceable and can be removed and reconnected with a satisfying ‘clunk’. I have been testing it on some pretty demanding shooters and so far and I really happy with its performance and reaction speed. The minimum actuation force is around 30g but expects around 50g of force on each stroke. The Mazz also does a good job of disabling the Windows key in its self-described ‘Game Mode’. Whilst I like using the Windows key to capture game footage, it can be really annoying mid-gunfight to have a popup or menu break your concentration. Designed to keep you in the game, the ‘game mode’ makes sure that you can ‘finish the fight’.

Full-Size Keyboard

In a world in which gaming keyboards seem to be getting smaller (see The Shrimp), it was great to see the Trust Mazz sticking with the full setup with a number pad. When not gaming, I also like to create 3D assets and develop games, and having a full-size keyboard and number pad is essential for the likes of Unity or Blender. Similarly, the 11 multimedia keys across the top are useful when using complex programs such as Adobe Suite and various game engines.

Overall, the Trust Mazz Mechanical keyboard does everything it sets out to do, it’s durable, responsive, and looks great. It might not have the gravitas of a Corsair or Roccat or the extra functions like connecting to Elgato or having dedicated Twitch buttons, but for a straightforward no-nonsense gaming keyboard it works really well and is a quarter of the cost at only £50. The 14 different colour modes and adjustable brightness are enough for any light aficionado and the full size means it is great for non-gaming as well. So whether you are making a game, playing a game, or totting up your tax return, the Trust Mazz Mechanical keyboard is a solid and reliable keyboard for the average gamer.

Gaming Tech Review: Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrips https://www.gamingdebugged.com/2022/09/28/gaming-tech-review-philips-hue-play-gradient-lightstrips/ Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:08:17 +0000 https://www.gamingdebugged.com/?p=15019 Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrips Review

The post Gaming Tech Review: Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrips appeared first on Gaming Debugged | Gaming Site Covering Xbox, Indies, News, Features and Gaming Tech.

]]>
The Philips Hue range of smart light products has just been optimised for gaming. You may have seen them light up TVs, but now they have sets built specifically for gaming monitors, and they look amazing.

The new Philips Hue Play Gradient lightstrips for monitors come in three variations to meet the needs of the different gaming setups. The single monitor version has two sizes to choose including the 24″-27″ version and the larger 32″-34″. The triple-monitor setup includes three 24″-27″ light strips. There is no double monitor setup as the majority of gamers use a one or three-monitor setup to avoid a blind spot in the middle of the gaming field of vision.

Before setting these up I was worried that my computers and graphics cards wouldn’t be able to handle them. Then I was worried about sticking them on wrong. Then I was worried about the different software needed to run them. Thankfully, that worry was unnecessary.

in-the-box

In the Box

Straight out of the box, you can feel the quality of the product. You get a 905mm lightstrip, five connectors, a power brick, and a Hue bridge. The 45-degree lights and flat backs ensure the light is directed properly and is easy to secure to most TVs. The design is elegant and feels both flexible and durable.

setup

The Set Up

Positioning the lights is easy. By using a small centre triangle as a guide, you can add the corner bracket first before using the three straight brackets. Once the two sides are level you can remove the 3M tape and stick them in place. The stick is strong but moveable if you make a mistake. Once in place, you stick the power brick to the back and plug it in.

The Hue Bridge is a hub that brings together the Philips range of products. Each smart light connects to the bridge and the bridge connects to your router. As each light sees the bridge, a simple tap on top of the bridge confirms control and you are ready to rock.

The Glow Up

The standard light is impressive from the outset giving between 700-800 lumens of light. The 16 individual light areas can be used in one colour or change dependent on wants on the screen. Without the Sync app, the lights are simply that, a light that can be controlled from the app.

Philips-Hue-Bridge

The Apps

The newly updated Philips Hue app for your phone connects seamlessly with the Philips Bridge and gives you control of individual lights, groups of lights, and entire rooms. Here you can create automation around certain times or specific voice commands from your smart assistant.

For the full gaming experience, you will need to install the Hue Sync App for PC & Mac. Installation is quick and easy and looks very similar to the phone app. Once connected the lights work wonderfully. From the burnt orange of Firewatch to the cool blues of Fez, the colours looked amazing and added to the gaming experience. Watching the colours move in sync with Hello Neighbor was mesmerising and really complete any gaming setup.

During my initial setup, I couldn’t get it working with Netflix, but this was soon fixed by disabling the hardware acceleration on Chrome.

Overall, the Hue Play gradient lightstrips for PC and Mac enhance the gaming experience whilst making your gaming setup look pretty darn cool. The build quality is good and the kit is easy to install both physically and digitally. The lights can be used as standalone backlights or used for gaming, movies, and even music. Whether you are using a 24″ inch, three 27” inch, or playing on a 55” monster, the Philips Hue light strip range has you covered. It’s a shame you need the Hue Bridge and two apps to run them but the setup is painless and the tools can be used across your smart home. I totally underestimated the impact coloured back lights had on my gaming experience and I won’t be going back ever again.

The FifineAmpli-game microphone is a USB plug-and-play mic that comes set up and ready to use, straight from the box. I have been using it on PC, but it works on Mac and consoles as well. Of course, it was the powder pink finish and internal LED lighting that drew me to it, but the big question is… is it any good?

Here’s my review of the Fifine A8 gaming mic.

pink ampligame A8 Mic

Straight out of the box, you have two USB cables and a mic arm adapter giving it great versatility. Similarly, the shock mount and desk stand come pre-assembled, so it is ideal for those looking to get started quickly.

The shock mount is particularly interesting, as many mics in this price range have mounts that are screwed into the bottom of the mic with a nut, however, the AmpliGame A8 is attached with elastic rubber bands giving it this cool “jiggle jiggle”, as well as keeping unwanted vibrations from making their way into my videos.

The look of the A8 Ampligame is fantastic, from its smiling pop filter to its powder pink colour, but this comes at a price. The whole body is made of plastic, which makes it feel light and a little cheap compared to the heavy metal body of the Yeti for example. But when it’s on the desk and matches your gaming set-up, the weight will be a forgotten memory. Its small footprint and overall profile mean it can fit neatly into the streaming window without covering the player’s face. The LED lighting inside is subtle but works well and streamers can choose a rainbow of colour or use the settings to pick the colour that matches your gaming setup. The pop filter is removable and quite thick which is handy for stopping those pesky air jets whilst talking.

pink ampligame A8 Mic

In terms of controls, there is little to talk about. It is a cardioid mic only and does not switch to omnidirectional like many others meaning the mic has to be pointing to you in order to get the best sound. On the top of the mic is a simple mute button with a light to show when it’s on and underneath there is a volume knob to twist on the fly. For those looking to endlessly tweak the gain and other audio enhancements, this one is not for you, the Apligame is a simple beast, on, off, loud or quiet. I like things simple. The 3.5 headphone Jack allows for latency-free monitoring allowing users to hear what watchers hear and allow you to alter on the fly. Plus it goes with my Edifier Headphones!

When it comes to sound quality, a soft tone best describes the output of the AmpliGame A8. So whether you are shouting to your teammates in Warzone, part of a podcast or a working-from-home the mic shaves off any hard edge to your voice to give you a more rounded version of your voice.

According to spec, the frequencies below 200Hz are less sensitive to reduce the rumbling sound from the vibration of the desk or PC fan.

Specifications

 • Type Condenser
 • Polar Pattern Cardioid
 • Output Connection USB Type-C (mic end) to type-A 2.0 (computer end)
 • Power Consumption USB 5V power
 • Frequency Response 50Hz-20kHz
 • Sensitivity -40±3dB
 • Shipping Weight 1.0 kg

To make things better, the treble is high enough to capture a bit more details from your voice. It can’t compete with top-end mics but for the price, it works. The combination of low-cut frequency response and decent mids and highs makes the general sound output great for the price.

For the comparison tests, I used the Joby Wavo Pod mic. It’s a little more expensive but it held up well against its various sound tests. However, it’s worth noting that Joby has more technical features.

pink ampligame A8 Mic

Overall, the Fifine Ampligame is a great starter mix for under $50. The lighting and colour choices are fantastic and its small profile and footprint mean it won’t dominate your desk. As it’s only cardioid, it’s can’t be your only podcasting mic. However, the plug-in and play nature and limited controls mean it’s great for beginners looking to start their streaming, podcasting or YouTube careers. Powder pink mics and smiling pop filters won’t be for everyone but personally, I think it’s very cute and confidently bold. The sound quality is good and takes the edge of your voice but limited controls mean any other tweaks will need to be done in post-production. A great little mic for under $50.

Give yourself the freedom to position your hands as you desire with this darn cute space saver. The Shrimp™ can enable some proper ergonomics. No more twisting your keyboard, hands and shoulders into awkward angles to find a feasible gaming position. The Shrimp™ can serve you both at home and on travels. At home it will wait patiently for when you hop into gaming.
Ultra-compact mechanical gaming keyboard liberating you from your gigantic and uncomfortable keyboard.

The Shrimp™ is amazing for travelling. When normally traveling with a gaming laptop, you most likely carry a gaming mouse with you. You would probably not carry your keyboard along as it’s way too big. You probably also don’t much enjoy using the keyboard on your laptop. Tiny keys without proper feedback, hand positioned almost touching the laptop screen, yikes! The Shrimp™ is definitely something that would fit your backpack.

The thing about Shrimp is that you don’t need to learn or accustom yourself to anything new. The Shrimp™ has a standard layout meaning the keys are exactly the same and in the same locations as on a standard keyboard.

Not only does the Shrimp™ look good, it feels great as well. Brand new Gateron™ G Pro switches plated on an elegant Nordic design body which has a bunch of sound-dampening magic built inside it. Also there is a detachable magnetically connectable wrist rest with soft padding and textured surface. A king’s rest for your wrist.

Shrimp-keyboard

On keycaps we would like you to notice the classic Cherry™ profile which is a bit lower (and in our opinion) better shaped than on most industry keyboards using the OEM profile. The keycaps feature an “oversized” lettering which carries more light…which brings us to RGB illumination. Yes, the Shrimp has! And it has plenty of cool effects as well.

The 25-key layout on the Shrimp™ is a solid amount of keys for any kind of casual gaming. You can use as is or map the keys in-game as you wish. No software or tricks are required. Casual gaming is the best kind of gaming. You game and feel casual while gaming. Just like wearing casual clothes, they are the most comfortable ones. In competitive gaming the gamers sweat a lot. How is that fun? If you feel competitive you can give the Shrimp™ a go too!

We wanted to brush off some dust from a “gaming keyboard”. There hasn’t been much evolution happening on keyboards from the computer terminal keyboards of the 1970’s. The “gaming keyboard” of today seems to be mainly a standard keyboard made in black color with an addition of RGB lighting and maybe a couple extra buttons too far away from easy reach.” says Kari Viljanen, product developer of the Shrimp™. “Having them be mechanical is not a new innovation of the last decade, it’s actually going back in time and bringing back the superior technology of old. All keyboards used to be mechanical and later became membrane to cut costs when the home PC market was booming.

“Now we haven’t re-invented a wheel here either. The Shrimp is also a standard keyboard, albeit its tiny size. There have also been keypad sized gaming devices before the Shrimp but they have either been non-standard layout, made to adapt keyboard & mouse on gaming consoles or have had some off-putting futuristic “space-captain” designs. I believe we have made a design that is both comfortable to use and looks great on your desktop. “ concludes Kari Viljanen.

Technical details:

 • Ultra Compact mechanical gaming keyboard
 • 25-key GLOBAL layout with super stunning “oversized” lettering
 • Gateron™ G Pro mechanical switches
 • Cherry™ profile (heights & shaping) keycaps
 • RGB illumination with a bunch of cool effects
 • Padded and textured magnetic wrist rest
 • Cool gadgety knobs
 • Multimedia controls
 • Fn-layer (dual function keys)
 • USB-C connector
 • Compatibility: Desktop PC and gaming laptops, PS4/PS5 (standard HID compliant USB device)

The post Tech Review: Joby Wavo Pod Mic | Streamer/Gamer Mic appeared first on Gaming Debugged | Gaming Site Covering Xbox, Indies, News, Features and Gaming Tech.

]]>
Joby is synonymous with vlogging after its range of camera/phone accessories became a must-have item. The Gorilla Pod was THE mobile phone tripod of choice that allowed vloggers worldwide to record anything from anywhere thanks to their octopus-like tripod that could grip onto all sorts of surfaces. Over the years, the product range has grown dramatically and so it makes sense for Joby to move into microphones for the vlogging community. Their aim is simple, create a studio-quality mic that can be on the go as much as you. Lets take a look and listen to see how they did…

Joby-wavo-mic

The Look & Feel

The Joby Wavo Pod Mic certainly is striking with its black brushed metal finish and eyecatching red pop filter. As it is in the Gaming Debugged brand colours, I can’t help but give it an 11/10 for that. However red might not go with every streamer’s gaming setup, but what is clear, is that Joby wants the Wavo to be a statement piece and something you put proudly in shot for all and sundry to see.

The mic body feels reassuringly heavy but not too heavy that it will further weigh down your camera bag. The majority of the weight is in the base plate. On the back there are two controls; the first is a multi-functional dial that controls the volume and gains as well as mutes it. By holding the button for 2 seconds it cycles through the different functions. Underneath is the pattern switcher which changes between omnidirectional for podcasts or group conversations or cardioid patterns when creating solo content. Whilst I absolutely love the simplicity of the controls as it makes recording idiot-proof, more controlling audiophiles may prefer the clunk-click of the more expensive mic for precision control. However, for those starting out, the Joby makes it super easy to get started with little or no audio technology knowledge.

Joby-wavo-mic

The base is fully removable and reveals a standard 3/8 screw fitting for all major boom arms. Handy for those looking to be able to move the mic around quickly and easily. also underneath is the 3.5mm headphone jack and the USB cable port. The headphone jack allows for zero-latency monitoring of your vocals, but it also just serves as a decent DAC for your computer. Right out of the box, it comes with USB-C and USB A connectors allowing you to plug straight into your phone or computer. The stand itself is a sleek U bracket with two easily adjustable screws to rotate the main body. Having an adjustable desk, I often switch between sitting and standing, so this feature gets a lot of use in my studio.

The last point on the looks has to be the included pop filter. It is fantastic that it comes as standard, as it allows new content creators to concentrate on the content and less on the audio quality. When I first started, I used the Blue Yeti, but after creating my first few videos I realised that pop filters are essential. Further to that, I realised that not all pop filters work with all mics. In short, it would have been really handy to have working pop filters from day one. The Joby Wavo Pod has one pop filter included (for cardioid/solo recording), but you can also purchase a second one for omnidirectional sound when doing an interview or podcast.

Joby-wavo-mic

The Sound

For those who know about audio quality levels, the Joby Wavo Pod mic enjoys 24 bit 48khz high-resolution sampling rate which is fantastic if we compare it to its competitors. The Rode NT USB is 50% more expensive and Blue Yeti is 25% more expensive and both run at 16bit 48kHz. As such, $100 or £89.99 for the microphone, AND pop filter and cables is a great deal.

Sound Tests

Computer Mic
This is was the pick-up is like on the standard mac book. She Sells, Sea Shells, on The Sea Shore.

This is the Blue Yeti USB with a pop filter – Peter Piper Picked a Pep of Pickled Pepper / Seven Sizzling Sausages

And this the Joby Wavo Pod with included pop filter – A noisy noise annoys an oyster / Simon says silly sayings

The Connectivity

The Joby Wavo Pod mic is also a transforming spider. Ok, it doesn’t grow legs and wander off but it comes with multiple connection options for the array of Joby addons. One arm can come out to hold a light, another can hold your phone, and another can hold a boom mic. There are various combinations you can try which makes it a hugely versatile and useful bit of kit for budding content creators. The additional arms and accessories don’t come as standard, but are a fantastic edition and help keep all of your equipment together.

Overall, the Joby Wavo Pod Mic is a head-turning starter mic for any content creator. Whether you are a streamer, gamer, or podcaster, the Wavo Pod has everything you need right out of the box and can be extended as and when you need to. For only £89 or $100, the sound quality is clear and comparable to its competitors. The mic works well on a desk or hanging from a boom arm, and packs away easily for creators on the move. The red colour won’t be for everyone and if you are looking to make a living from audiobooks or voice-over acting you may need to look at the higher end of the market (along with padded rooms and specialist software). However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Wavo Pod Mic as it easily surpassed similar mics in its price bracket and even those at almost double the price. The connectivity and versatility of the mic make it a fantastic option for creators and ensure its longevity in any studio.

The PG16 professional gaming headset from Austrian Audio is a high-end wired headset designed with gaming in mind. Whilst most headsets like to say this, the Austrian Audio headset range uses their own proprietary High Excursion Technology for clear, precise sound with perfect spatiality.

Getting High

High Excursion or Hi-X is a specially designed ring magnet system and coil that offers lightning-fast responsive movement. This allows for improved airflow and includes the strongest magnetic field in its class. For the gamer, this means that the barrage of sounds that can be heard during an epic PvP face-off is not only crystal clear but also have accurate spatial awareness giving you pinpoint locations of your competition.

PG16_Austrian-sound-gaming-headset

It’s Behind Me Isn’t It…

From 12 Hz to 24 kHz the full audible sonic spectrum is accurately reproduced with no latency. It is highly unlikely that your opponent will creep up on you unnoticed when you are wearing these bad boys. But for a special treat, use these on Alien Isolation to ramp up the fear factor

What Hi-Fi gave the Hi-X15 headphones a five-star review saying that there is “clear, open presentation” and that “this transparency gives them a huge advantage over rivals.” The PG16 builds on this success to make a lightweight and professional-level gaming headset.

The sound clarity is simply fantastic and it’s easy to get immersed in the game and leave the real world behind.

However, it’s worth noting that on PC and Mac there is an accompanying app called Spatial Soundcard L by New Audio Technology that adds virtual 7.1 surround sound effects. This can be a little testing to set up and beginners may struggle. It’s a shame there is no similar app for consoles or handheld devices.

Trash Talking

The mic on the PG16s is omnidirectional and used a “Tilt-To-Mute“ function avoiding the use of buttons and switches like the Spirits or HC2 reviewed last year. Testing them out with friends, I moved the mic to three different locations, too close, about right, and too far. The built-in pop filter was handy when positioned too close and there was little to no change in clarity when the mic was positioned too far away which was great

PG16_Austrian-sound-gaming-headset

Every Hole a Goal

The handy 3.5mm TRRS jack plug means that it will work on all your gaming platforms including PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, or Xbox. The 1.4 metre cable is perfectly sufficient for the average gamer but the fact that this is removable is very handy should you need a longer cable or if you roll over and crush the cable with your gaming chair… yes, it happens!

The obvious downside here is the lack of Bluetooth connectivity which many competitors at the price point have.

Built like Schwarzenegger

The build is everything you might expect from an Austrian technology company following in the footsteps of Siemens, Beko, and Osram. From its soft and comfortable memory foam ear pads to its foldable construction the headset are as soft as they are solid.

Give Me the Headlines

The PG16 gaming headset is sleek, comfortable, and folds away nicely. The sound is fantastic and a must for any audiophile. The mic works well with little difference in sound depending on placement. Many will be put off by the lack of Bluetooth and PC gamers get a better experience than console gamers thanks to the additional software. However, you can hear and feel the quality with every beat and when you’re lost in a game, the trailing wire will be the least of your worries.

Unsuccessful video game patents finally get their day in the sun, as we explore those nearly altered the video game industry forever.

The Magnavox Odyssey, otherwise known as the original home video game console, was first released into North American homes in the autumn of 1972. Since then, there has been an influx of different brands, consoles and accessories that have been produced in the video game market and the industry looks very different to what it did in 1972.

From our research, we found that patent-related search terms such as ‘how to patent an idea’ are searched for nearly 15,000 times on average each month in the US city of New York alone. This shows the number of creative proposals that happen monthly in just one city. Obviously, not all these patent-related searches get submitted let alone make it into the public domain.

However, other research highlights the number of patents that were filed by the Chinese video game company, Tencent Holdings Ltd. In 2021, the largest video game company in the world based on investments, filed for over 5,000 new patents. This statistic again shows the vast number of innovative ideas that are occurring every year.

Sadly, a fair number of inventive ideas never got past the production stage. This article includes some of the whacky and wonderful video game concepts that were patented but never made it into our personal gaming setup.

Inflatable Vehicle Simulator by Leo Markowitz – 2012 (US20120270663A1)

To start, we rewind to 2012, when Leo Markowitz concocted the Inflatable Vehicle Simulator to make racing games more realistic. Vehicle gaming setups have come a long way since 2012, with gamers now having the ability to use multiple screens to further their peripheral vision to allow them to better see their racing competitors. Further to this, gaming setups do now go as far as having pistons inbuilt which simulate the car’s suspension and allow the player to feel the bumps and forces that the car is absorbing in the game.

Having these additions makes the game and the experience more realistic for the gamer. Although these setups are extensive and provide a more realistic gaming experience, they are very expensive, and they also take up a lot of room due to how big and bulky they are. By creating this Inflatable Vehicle Simulator, Leo bypassed the size-related issues while still allowing the consumer to have an immersive gaming experience. However, unfortunately for us gamers and Leo Markowitz himself, it was a design that never quite made it to the mass market and therefore, is our first inductee to the ‘video game patents that could have been’ hall of fame.

EXERCISE AND VIDEOGAME CHAIR

Exercise and Video Game Chair by Benjamin Karl Broderick – 2009 (US20110086747A1)

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention at Andrews University and Emory University conducted some research into the anthropometric characteristics of gamers in the American city of Seattle. Their results found that the average BMI of a gamer was higher than that of an average non-gamer. This was a worrying statistic as the average gamer was found to have a BMI of 28.05 which is considered overweight. Being overweight causes strain on important parts of the body like the heart and thus, could lead to serious health conditions in the future.

Benjamin Karl Broderick obviously knew that this was a growing and ongoing issue and patented his idea for an all-in-one Exercise and Video Game Chair. The chair included straps that would be attached to each limb and the torso, the idea being to provide resistance against these muscles whilst the consumer was gaming to offer them a strenuous workout to help tackle the growing weight problem in gamers. Unfortunately, this constructive and innovative idea didn’t make it to production and thus, gamers have had to use other methods to try and stay in tip-top condition whilst still being fully immersed in the virtual world.

REMOVABLE CONTROLLER

Attachable Controller for Portable Devices by Brandon Workman – 2011 (US20110260969A1)

The revenue made from mobile games’ reached and surpassed $76 billion by the end of 2020 with over 470,000 mobile gaming apps being available as of the first quarter of 2021. This plethora of apps range from puzzle games to first-person shooter games and in the latter, there are often technical difficulties that hinder the performance of the gamer. Whether it be due to a broken screen or down to the screen being too small or big or just finding it hard to use a touch screen as a controller, one of the most frustrating issues is not being able to play to your full potential due to having equipment that isn’t suited to you.

The aim of Brandon Workman’s invention was to fix this. He invented a controller which connects wirelessly to a portable device. The buttons and the joystick which connect, allow for the gamer to have better handling of their characters, and allow them to gain an advantage over their competitors. A huge advantage of Brandon’s design is its portable nature, allowing for the controller to be packed into a compact case which is ideal for gaming on your commute or travelling to your next holiday destination or waiting for your favorite coffee to brew. However, this particular invention never made it to the mass market and therefore, we will have to carry on using the touch screen for now.

ADAPTABLE VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER

Adaptable Game Controller by Paul Chen – 2005 (US20050255916A1)

Consistently since the release of the Magnavox Odyssey, controllers have been very similar across the different brands with a few tweaks making the controller unique to that brand/console. For example, the main difference between the Xbox and PlayStation controllers is the positioning of the left joystick and the d-pad as they swap positions on the different controllers.

Paul Chen evidently didn’t like this standardized design and created a game controller faceplate in 2005, which was designed to show an image of the video game onto the controller. This would allow the gamer to see their beloved games up close and personal. It would work by the controller and the faceplate connecting via a chip which would then display the video game graphics. The faceplate would show different images for each game to enhance the consumer’s experience. Due to the advanced software coding in the chip, it would help to improve the player’s gaming performance which would have been a huge selling point for the invention. Unfortunately, this intuitive and rather advanced piece of technology didn’t make it to the wider market despite being successfully patented.

VIDEOGAME SCREEN DIVIDER v2

Screen Divider by Timothy M. Coffey – 1994 (US5435557A)

Last but not least, Timothy M. Coffey filed for one of the simpler patents back in 1994. Timothy had obviously had an irritating sibling or friend in his gaming years who would constantly try and gain an advantage by looking at their opponent’s screen to find out what they’re doing or whereabouts they are.

This incessant cheating evidently drove Timothy to the end of his tether as he came up with an idea for an opaque panel to be attached to the screen by sucker cups which are attached to arms where the panel can be stretched across different sized screens. This concept is one of those that I think 90% of players have thought about trying to implement when playing a game against an overly competitive opponent and if you’re part of the 10% who has never thought of this then it’s time to take a long, hard look at yourself. However, unfortunately for those fair players among us, this idea never made it onto our tv screens.

These visualizations of the inventions that never were, show how different gaming could be now if these inventions had made it to the wider market and into our gaming setups. The inventions will surely be like Marmite, and split opinions with some people loving certain ideas but hating others and vice versa. Unfortunately, we will never get to see these particular projects in person along with many others that ended up in the ever-going grave of failed video game patents.

Christmas is finally upon us and has been pretty good for gaming technology. VR is now untethered, consoles are catching up with gaming PCs and the world has finally accepted the benefits of online gaming.

This year I wanted to highlight ten amazing gift ideas that would make any gamer bow before you in thanks:

xbox-series-x-s

Xbox Series X / Playstation 5 -$599 / £449

The Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 are the hottest properties at the moment with gamers struggling to secure one for Christmas. However, if you are happy to pay between £600 – £1,500 on eBay you might be lucky. These consoles are four times more powerful than the previous iterations with the Series X supporting up to 120 frames per second. Most games are backward compatible with many Xbox titles being enhanced for the new hardware. Whilst the Xbox has the power, the PS5 has the launch titles with the new Spiderman game a must-play this holiday. Personally, I’m an Xbox fanboy so my decision is made.

Snakebyte-Xbox-Twin-Charge-SX-1

SnakeByte Twin Charging Station – $25

The future is wireless and Snakebyte’s TWIN: CHARGE X is a wireless dual charging station for either your Xbox controllers or Playstation controllers. You can charge two controllers at the same time and the dock looks very tidy next to your consoles. The kit also includes two rechargeable 800mAh batteries. It’s compatible with your chosen controllers and with no official launch of a wireless charging station by Microsoft, Snakebyte is the best option for the gamer in your life.

You can also be ready for 4k/8k resolution with the Snakebyte SX PRO HDMI cable that can be bought as part of the same range.

WorkFit-T Sit-Stand Desk Converter

Ergotron Standing Desk

If lockdown has taught me anything it’s that we all sit around quite a lot. But when I was introduced to a standing desk I found that I was more productive and kept the weight off. Curious about the increased productivity, I tested my gaming abilities and found that I became noticeably better on FPS games whilst standing up. As such, I wholeheartedly recommend a standing desk converter to help both work and play.

Players drive a kart in the real world using the familiar Mario Kart controls and see the action from your kart’s onboard camera displayed on your Nintendo Switch. Prepare to transform your home into elaborate courses this Christmas as it is a whole new way to enjoy Mario Kart.

oculus-quest-2

Oculus Quest 2

Untethered virtual reality is here, and it’s got Star Wars!. Oculus Quest 2 is one of the most advanced VR systems that not only lets you play games, but also allows you to be a part of live concerts, exclusive events, etc. Priced at a ridiculously reasonable $299, this headset doesn’t necessarily require a gaming PC, but is compatible with one should you have a beast in your game room. Obviously, you need a Facebook account to use most of the features, but it’s a small price to pay for total immersion.

razer-kishi

Razer Kishi Android Controller

Now Xbox has shed the shackles of console gaming and moved to ‘cloud gaming’ any Android phone can be turned into a mobile Xbox console. The only catch is that you need to carry around a controller and one of the new phone holders. However, there is a better way. The Razer Kishi Android Controller are a set of beautiful controller extensions that turn the phone into a high-powered Nintendo switch allowing you to play many of your favourite Xbox titles anywhere with a stable wifi connection.

Blood Sweat & Pixels

In Blood, Sweat, and Pixels, Jason Schreier takes you on a fascinating journey behind the scenes of video game development, where the creator may be a team of 600 overworked underdogs or a solitary geek genius. The book explores artistic challenges, technical impossibilities, marketplace demands, and corporate meddling. Once you have read this, games like Destiny will never be the same again.

The Xbox Game Pass gives you access to over 100 high-quality console games for one low monthly price. Since the advent of streaming, gaming headsets are not just about audio quality and mic clarity. Nowadays, they are a fashion accessory and extensions of your personality. From chunky black beasts to pink with kitten ears, your headset is not just seen by friends and family, but sometimes the whole world. The Spirits range from Sades is a celebration of its 10th Anniversary and comes in 10 diverse colours to suit your style needs. But what are they like I hear you say… Here’s my review of the Spirits 10th Anniversary Gaming Headset from Sades.

spirits-headset

The range of colours will be the first thing that will draw you to the Spirits range. From the eye-bleeding orange, yellow, green and red, to the more subtle powder pink, lavender purple and ocean teal, there is a colour to suit your style. The chunky earcups and fat headband mean that the colour is far from subtle.

The second thing you will notice is the amazing price, at £17 or $25, Spirits are an absolute bargain for the quality.

The oversized ear cups also house the volume wheel and microphone button, on the left ear cup, making it easy to mute and adjust the volume. The size doesn’t mean they are heavy though. Overall, they are lightweight and come with comfortable pads on headbands and earcups. The interior pads use soft skin-friendly leather on the ear muffs for maximum comfort.

The Spirits range is equipped with 50mm speakers and delivers crisp stereo sound. The 3.5 mm 4-pole Jack means maximum compatibility across your devices and is cross-platform from consoles to VR. The wire was a nice surprise, as the white-coated cable has a lovely soft material finish that is particularly tactile.

spirits-headset

The omnidirectional mic comes on a flexible arm that can be easily bent to fit your face or simple slid up and stowed. When in use, the mic works well and has good feedback when in the throes of battle.

But what about the sound. It’s surprisingly good for the budget price, much better than you might expect. Sounds are full, and you’ll undoubtedly notice much more background detail than you would through your TV speakers or equivalent. The Bass sounds are a little lacking, but you can’t have everything. My set was tested on Destiny and Aliens Fireteam Elite with no issue in sound quality.

Overall, the low price point and range of colours make this ideal for families, when everyone demands something different. They are not the best on the market but for £20 the Spirits deliver much better sound quality than you’d expect. Some will find the construction is plasticky and baby-toy like, but if you enjoy bright, bold colours and fashion statements, then you’ll certainly enjoy the Spirits range. There is a good chance that they won’t last as long as a more expensive headset, but for around £20/$30 these are pretty fantastic.

Review: HC2 Decal Edition | Stereo Gaming Headset https://www.gamingdebugged.com/2021/09/13/review-hc2-decal-edition-stereo-gaming-headset/ Mon, 13 Sep 2021 20:20:29 +0000 https://www.gamingdebugged.com/?p=12876 Wired Stereo Headset That Works Across Your Tech

The post Review: HC2 Decal Edition | Stereo Gaming Headset appeared first on Gaming Debugged | Gaming Site Covering Xbox, Indies, News, Features and Gaming Tech.

]]>
The HC2 is a multi-use stereo headset that can be used on Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, Phone, or tablet. Designed and engineered in the UK, Gioteck is a growing brand dedicated to gaming and audio equipment. They were kind enough to send over a set of the HC2 Decal Edition for review, so let’s get stuck in.

The HC2 is a chunky wired headset with plenty of padding, a generous wire length and a stylish unique look thanks to its angled ear cups.

HC2 Decal Edition, as the name suggests comes with three sets of stickers for you to personalise your headphones to your individual tastes. The sides are finished in gloss plastic for easy application of the stickers. The stickers come on a thick 3M vinyl and have a quality feel. The included decals include two dark camouflage patterns and a Minecraft-inspired green and brown block pattern. The decal sheets have clear instructions but will rely on you having a steady hand for application.

gioteck-headset

There is an easy-to-use adjustable headband for those melon heads among us and the ear cups are large and have plenty of padding, even if the shape is a little unusual.

The Padded headband on the top has a useful gap in the middle for any VR head strap should you be using one.

The microphone arm is fully removable and can be easily clicked into place at will. The arm is fixed in place and there is some movement should you be the type of gamer who likes to move the mic away from your mouth during a game.

The mic pick-up was great and I had no complaints from friends during gaming sessions.

The cable is flat with a control clip part of the way down. The control clip has a mute function and a rotary dial for volume control. The cable ends with a 3.5 audio jack for maximum comparability.

gioteck-hc2-decal-edition

When it comes to sounds quality, I must say that I was impressed considering the price point. For the tests, I used two games, Fortnite and Observer System Redux. Fortnite allowed me to see how they handle voice and game audio at the same time, whereas the scary soundscape of Observer System Redux was a good test of the single-player experience. The wired choice won’t be for everyone but if the lag-free sound is at the top of your wish list, the HC2 delivers.

The Bass sounds are nice and thick and the midtown is crisp and clear just as you might want. For the sound connoisseurs amongst you, the higher frequencies may be on the tinny side for your preference, however, for everyone else, they sound great.

Overall, The HC-2 is a versatile headset designed with comfort in mind. The decals offer extra personalisation options giving you the choice of three styles in one box. The fixed-length mic might be unusual for those used to gooseneck mic but it swings easily out of the way when not in use. When it comes to sound, the mid and bass tones are strong but the higher tones can sometimes sound a little tinny. If you are looking for an affordable headset that is comfortable and can be used across your tech, you can’t go wrong with the Gioteck HC2 wired gaming headset.

The post Review: The Edifier G2 II Gaming Headset appeared first on Gaming Debugged | Gaming Site Covering Xbox, Indies, News, Features and Gaming Tech.

I am Princess Pixelz and THIS is my first hardware review for the channel. Today I will be looking at the Edifier G2-2 Gaming Headset.

Who is Edifier?

Edifier is a Beijing-based audio solutions company that specialises in headphones and speakers. They have a range of ten amazing gaming headsets and I was lucky enough to be sent the G2-2 for review.

I have been playing various games over the past few days from Broken Age and Hollow Night on my own, and they a lot of Rocket League with Friends to get a feel for the mic.

G2-II-Edifier

The first thing you’ll notice is the cutest little kitten ears on top which have been made popular by many female streamers across Twitch. The Powder Pink colour with soft grey padding is awesome and matches my bedroom. The headset also has these amazing colour changing lights on each which totally rock.

To wear, they are super comfy and the noise reduction cups help keep out all of the screamings from my little sister! The Big R & L in the cups also help when you don’t have the mic plugged in… for quick and easy putting on. The build quality is great and had a solid head arch and really soft ear pads. The mic feels robust and during my online tests, my friends could hear me clearly.

G2-II-Edifier

Advantages:

 • Great 360 degree Sound
 • Very cool L.E.D lights
 • Easy to mute
 • The pink colour is awesome (but also comes in black or white)
 • The ears are super cute
 • Cable means no charging
 • The cable is very long as well should your USB port be far away from your gaming chair.

Disadvantages:

 • Cables are a little bit old school (you could pull the computer off your desk when you get up)
 • The instructions in the box are for PC only (but they just worked fine on the Mac without any additional software)
 • They didn’t work on my consoles

Conclusion: Edifier G2 II Gaming Headset For The Win

The Edifier G2-2 are super cute in pink, but also come in midnight black or ice white if pink is not your jam. The 360 sound is amazing and the mic is clear and easy to mute. The cable will be a big no-no for many people but if you only intend to keep it with your gaming rig, it shouldn’t be a problem.

I would have liked them to work on Xbox as well, but you can’t have everything, so these will sit pride-of-place by my PC.

If this review has been useful, please give it a like, demand more videos from me in the comments and I will be back with another video very soon.

Professional gaming has changed a lot since the days of Doom. Nowadays, a team of pro gamers can make millions of dollars annually and earn sponsorships from major companies, making it possible to support a family on gaming-related income. But the life of a pro gamer isn’t all glitz and glamour, as it comes with its share of injuries.

In fact, one gamer, a 25-year old from the US, recently announced his retirement from gaming due to an injury. Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto, one of the most popular Call of Duty players, suffered from injury-induced weakness in his thumb and wrist that started a few years before he announced his retirement.

It’s safe to say that the online gaming trend isn’t disappearing anytime soon. Players worldwide log over six hours on average every week playing games, and the global gaming industry was valued at $162.32 billion in 2020. All that time spent in front of a screen, however, comes at a cost. Chronic gaming can lead to musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

Common Types of Gaming Injuries

Overuse injuries are especially common in gamers since prolonged use of gaming controllers causes repetitive stress on the hands, wrists, arms, and other muscles and tendons. This stress is also known as gamer’s thumb and can lead to carpal tunnel, peripheral neuropathy and arthritis. While such repetitive injuries are common in gamers, they aren’t the only ones at risk of injury; people in all walks of life can suffer from the same injuries from gaming since they’re caused by the same types of repetitive motion injuries found in manual labor, sports, hobbies, and other recreational activities.

Muscles and tendons are the body’s support system and help us to move. It is not uncommon for stress to build up in the muscles and tendons. Injuries such as strains and tears can occur regularly from overuse. When muscles and tendons become damaged, they can no longer do their job, resulting in pain, loss of range of motion, and weakness.

One of the most severe athletic injuries a gamer can suffer is carpal tunnel syndrome, which occurs when a person uses the mouse or keyboard for an extended period. This can be caused by repetitive motions or a poor ergonomic setup, like using a hard mouse surface instead of gel, or having the chair too low. If you have begun to suffer from symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, you’ll need to get help to treat it quickly. Be aware that the longer you wait to seek treatment, the higher the risk of developing more serious conditions like arthritis will be.

The other common culprit for gaming injuries is carpal tunnel’s cousin, the cubital tunnel syndrome. It is also caused by repeatedly flexing and extending the elbow and wrist over and over again, resulting in a slow build-up of fluids in the area. When those fluids start to accumulate, they then press on the nerves, causing pain, numbness, and tingling in the affected area. This can have a devastating effect on your gaming, as it’s hard to play when you can’t feel your hands.

Wrist Injury Treatment

Severe injuries are relatively rare in the world of gaming, but there are a few things you can do to help prevent them. Often, the body’s natural healing process will begin soon after an injury. However, if the pain persists, an injury can trigger a complex interaction that can result in further physical problems. If these problems are not treated, they can lead to permanent changes in the way your body functions.

To prevent long-term effects that could ensue from minor strains or gaming-related injuries, there are some tips you can follow:

 1. Keep your equipment in good working order. If your controller or mouse is not working properly, stop using it immediately and replace it.
 2. Stay hydrated, as dehydration can significantly affect your performance and muscle recovery.

Another form of treatment to support and heal strained or injured areas from gaming involves using kinesiology tape on the hands, wrists, or forearms. Kinesiology tape has been used in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries for many years and is trusted by experts. It has been shown to provide therapeutic benefits such as pain relief, reduced swelling, and improved mobility. With many professional gamers reporting the benefits of using kinesiology tape on social media, it is not surprising that many are turning to it.

About Kinesiology Tape

Gamers are always looking for an edge. Having the right keyboard, monitor, or mouse is a good start. But, what if you want to take it a step further? You could spend thousands of dollars on specialized training equipment, or you could invest in a kinesiology tape and help yourself. (And don’t let the technical word “kinesiology” scare you off. Strength coaches, elite athletes, and world-class dancers all use kinesiology tape to help them perform at their best levels.)

Kinesiology tape can help treat common gaming injuries by aligning the bones and muscles properly and providing support to the joints without restricting the range of motion. The tape is lightweight, breathable, and can be worn for extended periods of time. It’s breathable, waterproof, and fully adheres to your skin, making it especially well-suited for wearing under clothing.

Kinesiology tape is made from cotton elastic fabric that is engineered to provide support to muscles and joints. Kinesiology tape is designed first and foremost to facilitate muscle movement, and secondly, to protect muscles and joints from injury. A common misconception is that kinesiology tape is the same as traditional sports tape, but this is not the case; kinesiology tape aims to promote movement and restore range of motion where conventional medical tape is designed to restrict it.

There are numerous reasons why kinesiology tape is used by gamers nowadays. It can be applied in a number of different ways to treat different problems related to joints and muscles. These problems include sprains, strains, overuse injuries, postural issues, and more. Kinesiology tape can also be used to relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis, which is common among gamers. When applied with the correct technique, kinesiology tape can provide therapeutic benefits for these problems and allow gamers to play longer, harder and pain-free.

In the world of gaming chairs, cheap usually means poor quality. Well, I had a chance to review the KCream gaming chair (available on Amazon), and this one certainly goes against conventional wisdom.

The KCream chair retails for under $150 (April 2021), but it has many elements that are usually found on more expensive gaming chairs.

Right off the bat, I noticed how thick the seat cushion is on the KCream. It’s close to 5” thick, and extremely supportive. One of the biggest complaints I hear from people who own cheap gaming chairs is how thin the seat foam is. This means after just a few weeks, you may start to feel the metal frame underneath as the foam craters in. There is no way this is going to happen on the KCream.

kcream

The upholstery on the Kcream chair has a satin feel to it, despite being made out of PU leather. You may have had the experience before of sitting in a PU leather chair that felt like sticky plastic wrap. This all comes down to the quality of the synthetic leather.

The Kcream chair comes with a plethora of features. They are:

 • Detachable neck and lumbar pillow: These are pretty standard, though the lumbar pillow actually comes with a vibrating massage function.
 • High reclining backrest: The backrest reclines back up to 160 degrees. It can also tilt, with tilt lock and tension control.
 • Armrests that pivot: The armrests can angle in and out to support your forearms at different positions.
 • Footrest: And last but not least, there is a wide footrest that comes out from underneath.

What you can’t glean from looking at the features list is the quality of the chair. This is a sturdy gaming chair that feels like it can support a heavy dude with no problems. There is no rattling or squeaking when I move around in the chair, and everything is well balanced. I read one reviewer on Amazon that complained the chair has a tendency to tip forward if you sit close to the edge- well, I can say I haven’t found that to be an issue, at least for myself.

kcream

One feature worth highlighting on the Kcream chair is the footrest.

Whether or not you like to recline in your chair or not, having a footrest comes in handy whenever you want to stretch out your legs. The footrest on this chair is well built and comfortable, though I wouldn’t want to rest my entire weight on it for safety reasons.

Let’s touch on dimensions now. The KCream feels slightly larger than your average size gaming chair. The seat measures 16” wide and 22” deep without the “wings”. The backrest is “33” tall.

The one complaint I do have about the Kcream chair are the armrests. The length is quite short, leaving ⅓ of my forearms hanging when I’m resting on them. They also move out of position too easily when pivoted. A lot of the time, I don’t even use the armrests, and just rest my arms on the desk because of these shortcomings.

Everything considered, the Kcream gaming chair is one heck of a bargain in my opinion. The quality is outstanding relative to the price. More importantly, it’s very comfortable despite the armrests.

When the first lockdown was announced and people were asked to stay at home and do nothing, gamers rejoiced, we had trained for this for years. But as the months dragged on and more lockdowns were imposed, the need to get some kind of exercise became apparent.

When I wasn’t gaming, I was working, writing, filming and editing. I soon realised that I needed to upgrade my workstation. I had seen standing desks about and whilst the theory of standing up whilst working or gaming was sound, my view of these trailblazers adopting this new way of working was less than positive. I thought of them in the same vein as those who used exercise balls as chairs. And yet, now over a month in, I can confidently say that I am a believer. Once you are in the zone, whether gaming or working, standing seems to fade into the background and hours can pass without you realising. When you do finally collapse on the sofa, you can feel it in your legs like a mini-workout.

Enter The WorkFit-T Stand Up Desk Converter

As I wasn’t ready to commit to a fully mechanical standing desk with buttons for increasing and decreasing the height, I opted for the Desk Convertor from Ergotron, so I could try in on my existing desk. This way, if I found myself sitting more than standing, I would be able to garage it or give it to another hopeful. But as it turned out, I loved it.

The desk arrived securely packed and fully assembled, which was fantastic as DIY skills are useless. Thanks to its size, there is plenty of space on the surface and a dedicated keyboard tray for your keyboard and mouse.

The handles for raising and lowering the desk on each side are easy to use and the spring-loaded mechanism means going up and down is easy to do and doesn’t require a great deal of strength. The movement up and down is beautifully smooth and I have consistently adjusted the height with laptop, monitor, and drink without a single spillage. It really is THAT stable.

The WorkFit-T Stand Up Desk Converter is £330 from Amazon and comes in two sizes, 35 inches and 37 inches, and whilst you might think that two inches isn’t much, they make all the difference if you are using a mini mac keyboard and mouse or a more clunky number pad keyboard with mouse.

The desk comes with dedicated monitor fittings to set up dual monitors and some handy cable management solutions to tidy up all of the wires.

For peace of mind, the desk converter also comes with a five-year warranty which is handy considering you are constantly moving it up and down depending on your energy levels.

I have to say that I was skeptical when first trying out this new way of gaming, but standing up whilst playing is a lot easier than I thought and can improve focus, blood flow and general fitness levels.

Ahead of my review of my new standing desk set up from Ergotron, I wanted to share their recent press release that caught my eye about enhancing the video game experience.

Ergotron, a global company focused on improving how people work, learn, play and care for others, has today announced the release of a complete range of ergonomic supports for video-game enthusiasts to improve their comfort, concentration and immersion when gaming. As the choice and design of screens continues to grow, gamers now must look into optimising the ergonomics of their workstations if they want to stay focused for longer and improve their performance while avoiding injury and pain.

There are an estimated staggering 2.7 billion gamers across the globe. Although boys aged under 18 make up 17% of all gamers, the average age for gamers is 34 years old. Alongside this higher average age is a heightened risk of the development of diseases commonly found among sedentary computer users. As a result, it is vitally important to integrate ergonomic equipment to help combat physiological risks, like musculoskeletal disorders and obesity, linked to physical inactivity and poor playing posture, while also improving player comfort and efficiency.

“With the English market estimated at £3.86 billion in 2019, the gaming market has experienced sustained and continuous growth for many years. This is particularly due to technological developments and the continued activity of manufacturers and publishers to meet ever-growing demand,” says Richard Guy, Country Sales Manager UK & Ireland at Ergotron. “As a key player in workstation ergonomics, we feel a responsibility to promote awareness among the approximately 32.4 million British gamers of the potential incurred physiological risks, and offer them solutions to look after their health.”

ergo-gaming

Neo-Flex stand

The Neo-Flex stand is the perfect accessory for all gamers with a laptop. Its 15.6cm height adjustment allows the user to position the screen at the right height to keep the head upright and prevent neck pain during long gaming sessions. Furthermore, the Neo-Flex support is the most ergonomic solution on the market, offering a 25° inclination, as well as a 360° left-right orientation thanks to casters located under the base.

HX range

The HX arm range can support one to three screens for a unique experience. Recognised by the industry as the flagship of ergonomic supports, the HX single-screen arm can support the majority of new generation curved screens up in many cases up to 49ins wide (or 19.1kg), which are particularly popular in the gaming industry.

The single-screen HX solution offers a large number of settings to ensure maximum ergonomic support for the most demanding gamers. Equipped with a height adjustment of 29.2cm, an inclination of 75°, a left-right pan of 180° or the portrait/landscape function, the HX range is distinguished by its irreproachable manufacture quality and a 10-year warranty.

Equipped with the optional tri-screen bar, the HX arm can attach up to three 24-inch screens for an unforgettable gaming experience. Two joints allow you to perfectly adjust the viewing angle of each of the three screens for total immersion. Whether the user is passionate about adventure, simulation or first-person shooter games, the HX range will provide unmatched comfort for maximum enjoyment and performance.

A flexible experience

Ergotron also offers wall mounts for large screens that are uniquely robust and technical. Some offer a screen-height adjustment of more than 50cm effortlessly and without the need for extra tools.

The most seasoned gamers will appreciate keeping the screen at the correct height at all times, whether they are playing seated or standing.

All technical product information is available on the website: www.ergotron.com. A configurator, accessible from the homepage, provides access to all compatible products from a screen reference.

When considering buying a gaming PC, most (if not all of us) will say to ourselves –

‘Where do I start?’

Buying a gaming PC is a big investment, and thorough research into the specifications for your gaming and personal needs is essential before you think about making a purchase. This is why PC specialists, AWD-IT have put together some tips and advice to help you to create your perfect set up.

best-gaming-pcs

Go Through The Reasons Why You Want A Gaming PC

When buying a gaming PC, you need to go through the reasons why you want or need one and the goals you want to pursue with it.

Gaming PC’s can range from simple gaming solutions that work alongside everyday use for those well known ‘work from home’ days, all the way to PC’s with the sole purpose of gaming providing the very best quality for your gaming experience.

Whilst looking through the specifications, uses and more, you may have questions like these on your mind –

 • Will I be using this PC just for gaming?
 • Do the games I like need superior graphics quality?
 • Will I be using this PC for everyday work too?
 • Will I use any form of video software/streaming on my PC?

With every answer, you may completely change the type of PC that you are looking for.

So, if you are looking to just play classic games and not any of the brand new releases, you wouldn’t need to look for a PC that contains a large amount of power, as they were created to handle PC’s from the time they were created.

However, if you are looking to play the newest games, as soon as they are on the market, then you may need to look for a gaming PC with high-end specifications, as you want the very best gaming experience.

Moving away from gaming PC’s, you may be someone who travels a lot, or likes to move around when gaming, so you are not always in one space. In this instance, considering a gaming laptop can allow the freedom to frequently change your gaming area.

But if you are someone who likes to dedicate one place to your gaming, then a PC could be the better-suited choice for you.

Hardware

When looking at the hardware specifications, we highly recommend that you take expert advice from resource guides, video reviews and even speak with our in-house experts where possible.

Whilst you are distracted by looking at what graphic quality you want, it may lead you to forget about other highly important areas such as the storage space.

If you are looking to purchase a gaming PC for both work and play, then you need to make sure your PC has a hard drive that has the capacity to handle them both.

Also, when looking at the specific games you plan to play to begin with, make sure you take a look at every detail about the gaming requirements and see if you can find similarities and pinpoints into where you need your specifications reaching.

gaming-PC

Price

Price, something that can look too good to be true on some sites and eye-watering on others.

Looking at a realistic budget is one of the most important areas you need to focus on before looking at any gaming PC.

When looking at where to buy from, make sure you purchase from a well trusted and reputable brand, so you know you are going to receive exactly what you see online or in-store.

Purchasing from well-known, trusted brands also means you will be able to ask an array of questions you may have on your mind. Trusted brands allow any questions to be discussed with an expert in that specific field, we often recommend something more suited to your needs, simply explain to them what you are exactly looking for.

When you fully dive into the exact specifications, the prices will continuously change, which is why you need to find out the exact requirements you want beforehand, so you can find realistic prices and specifications, without any surprises.

Brands

We have touched on choosing reliable brands, but it is vital that you find trusted PC companies that have lots of good and genuine reviews.

Nowadays, there is a vast amount of PC brands available, with the likes of Corsair, Dell, Intel and HP familiar to us and with a good reputation for quality PC’s.

You can also look at suppliers (like ourselves) who are especially handy when you are looking to purchase from overseas by purchasing from a reseller. This helps to negate long waiting times and high cost delivery fees.

With thorough research and advice, the process of buying your dream PC can be easier than you think.

A gaming PC provides an array of uses, that exceed gaming alone, making them an investment you will not regret.

It’s been three years since the last Xbox (One X) came out, and finally, amidst all the pandemic, like a forerunner of felicity, Microsoft has officially launched the all-new Xbox Series X and the Series S.

It’s been a “Fortnite” since the new Xbox launched, and the stocks are depleted everywhere due to high demand. And why wouldn’t that be? The Xbox Series X is the fastest and the most powerful Xbox ever!

With bang-on visuals, high frame rates, and massive storage, Xbox witnessed their largest-ever launch. And talking about history, this next-gen console can play from an extended catalog of Xbox games dating back to the 2001’s Xbox Original games.

Let’s have a look at this pre-Christmas gift “box” full of surprises.

XboxSeriesXTech

Technical Specs: Crunching the Numbers

Microsoft’s fourth-gen consoles have arrived with the Xbox Series X being the flagship console and Series S – the all-digital, best value gaming console.

Xbox says that the Xbox Series X is 4-times faster than the previous Xbox One X. This is because it packs an absolute powerhouse with an eight-core 3.8GHz AMD Zen 2 processor, 12 Teraflops of GPU, whopping 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD storage.

And the result? You get to game in a scrumptious 120fps environment that supports 8K HDR resolution (with a nominal target of 4K resolution at 60 frames per second).

Interestingly, the Xbox Series S is a digital-only console with no optical drive, so no more physical edition of games. In comparison to the Series X, this smaller Xbox is also a processing beast with it’s eight-core 3.6GHz AMD Zen 2 processor, 4 Teraflops of processing power, 10GB of GDDR6 RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD storage allowing the console to render at 1440p at up-to 120 fps and can upscale the resolution to up-to 4K.

The super-fast NVMe SSD is part of the console’s new Velocity Architecture that provides faster I/O performance and texture streaming. As a result, you can suspend multiple games in the background and switch from one to another in a snap using Quick Resume.

Besides the visual and performance, Xbox has also enhanced the sound by introducing the 3-D Spatial Sound, including Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.

Introducing an Epic Digital Games Package

Microsoft has a secret weapon that can change the shape of the Xbox’s gaming future. Xbox Game Pass (now combined with Project xCloud) is essentially a subscription service that allows users to access hundreds of games to download and play. What’s sweet is that this collection isn’t just limited to your new consoles but also available on the previous Xbox platforms.

This new play-anywhere platform service will expand the gaming horizons along with the Smart Delivery system, which will always keep your games up-to-date for free.

And the all-digital Xbox Series S with no disk drive features the digital game packages available online to purchase and play. Also, by taking advantage of Project xCloud, you can save your storage and stream games without having to download them at all.

The gaming industry has indeed come a long way from video game cassettes to nothing physical.

Game Launch

Even though there won’t be any purely exclusive Xbox Series X/S releases from the first-party studios anytime soon, there are still some confirmed games that we can wait and look up to.

This wait will be rewarding since the newer games will enable utilizing the console at its maximum potential as developers are working on games optimized for the Xbox Series X and S, which will have heightened visuals of 4K Ultra HD, matchless loading time, and steadier frame rates at up-to 120fps.

While some games are still under development, like the much-awaited Halo Infinite, there are many games which already are available in the market, such as Assassin’s Creed – Valhalla running at 60fps, Watch Dogs: Legion with ray tracing, DIRT 5 running at a whopping 120fps and all of these in 4K Ultra HD resolution!

XboxSeriesX

Key Takeaways

With everything being discussed, Microsoft’s all new Xbox Series X has become mightier than its rival, Sony’s Playstation 5. The PS5 happens to have a less powerful GPU and SSD than the Series X, which sums up the performance on paper.

The real game-changer is the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription that lets you download more than a hundred games of different genres and play them on your Xbox Series X, S, One, PC, even your android device now, unlike the PS5. to take advantage of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll need a fast broadband speed to download as many games as possible while you have the subscription. Use a broadband checker to see what speeds are available in your area if your current internet is too slow

And not to forget the backward compatibility feature, which helps you reach further back into Microsoft’s library – to help you reignite the nostalgic spark of legacy game titles.

Microsoft did think this one through, and by launching not one but two consoles, it has raised the bar by providing the best performing and valuable console. With the new-gen of Xbox consoles, consumers can enter the Xbox ecosystem by either choosing the premium flagship console – The Xbox Series X, or- The Xbox Series S – that’s available at a highly attractive price.

Sports company PUMA and gaming gear company Playseat have joined forces to create a “revolutionary” new gaming seat.

The Playseat Active Gaming Seat was presented for the first time at Gamescom 2019 in Cologne. It builds on Playseat’s know-how and Puma’s extensive ergonomic and materials research to turn gaming into a more active experience.

The seat allows gamers to maintain an active, correct sitting position with total freedom of movement and complete control.

Using high-tech, breathable materials developed by PUMA, the game seat adapts to players’ positions as they get immersed in the on-screen action, while remaining comfortable even after many hours of play.

It does not matter whether you are a top-level esports athlete, a console gamer, a mobile gamer or just watching your favorite TV show. With ultimate control at the core of its development, the game seat ensures that players and users of all levels, ages, shapes and sizes can find their ideal sitting position.

“Gaming is greater with full sitting control,” said Fernando Smit, President and Founder of PLAYSEAT®. “That’s why we felt the need to change sitting of gamers from the traditional couch or even on the floor in front of their screens, so we created something truly unique.”

The popularity of gaming has steadily grown over the past several decades, and it keeps attracting new fans of all ages. In 2017, Nielsen reported that 64 percent of the U.S. population, ages 13 and older, plays video games on some device. The reach of gaming fandom extends to YouTube, where two of the top five channels are those with the most significant number of gaming-related subscribers.

In March of 2019, Forbes reported that gamers from countries such as France, Italy, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States are playing more and more. Avid gamers play for an average of seven hours and seven minutes per week, according to Limelight Networks. That timeframe keeps growing too.

As an increasing number of gamers spend more time gaming, everyone is trying to figure out how to improve their gaming performance. If you need some tips, here are four easy ways to create the best gaming experience at home.

Design Your Gaming Space

If you have a home full of rooms that might work well as your gaming den, think carefully about the room you choose. Think about what you want out of your gaming setup and which rooms are most suitable. You don’t want to infringe on the space of your family members or housemates, and you also don’t want them interrupting your gaming time, so consider areas like your basement, attic or spare bedroom.

Buy a Gaming PC

If you are passionate about your gaming time, search for a top-of-the-line PC with a high-caliber processor to offer you peak performance when handling high-end games. Gaming PCs tend to provide a better overall experience than many designated gaming consoles. Further, gaming PCs feature dedicated graphics cards for less graphical lag and a smoother frame rate. PC Gamer shares some of its top picks for 2020, including the Alienware Aurora R11 and the Corsair One i164.

Enhance Your Online Gaming Experience

Make sure your internet resources can support your gaming practices and anything else going on in your home while you are gaming. Some key features you need include a generous data plan, low latency and above adequate connection speed. Internet providers such as Cox Communications can walk you through everything you need to get the most out of your gaming experience in each session. Your internet provider should be able to help you determine the right ping for gaming and how to test it, ways to lower your latency, whether you need a gaming VPN and much more. Understanding how your internet speeds impact your gaming experience will help you understand how to improve your gaming performance. Learn more about secure gaming at nordvpnteams.com.

Invest in a Comfortable Gaming Chair

Last but not least, you need a comfortable gaming chair. Many games can go on for hours, so you want to sit tight and comfortably throughout. The right gaming chair can help you relax and prevent back problems. PC Mag recommends chairs like SecretLab and AKRacing.

Settle in for Peak Gaming Sessions

Focus on finding a comfortable chair, high-quality gaming PC and performance-enhanced internet to start building your gaming oasis. Add in a good headset, monitor and customized controller, and your family may have to set out on a search mission to find you. Then again, they might choose to stick around and join you.

Have you played Roblox? If not, you should really give it a try. It’s an incredible creativity tool that’s great for kids and adults alike. Roblox is available on PC, Xbox One, and mobile platforms (both Android and iOS), so no matter where you’re trying to play it you should be able to find somewhere that’s right for you. If you love Minecraft but wish there was a more pronounced economy attached to it, then Roblox is absolutely the game for you. We strongly recommend you check it out!

If you have already done so, then you’ll already know how much fun you can have with Roblox. Whether you’re completely new to the game or you’re an old hand, you’ll quickly learn that Robux, the in-game currency used in Roblox, is crucial to a smooth experience with the game. Put simply, if you don’t have Robux, you’re not going to get very far within the Roblox infrastructure. It’s used for everything from buying games and access to purchasing new items for your avatar.

Luckily, we’re here to help you understand how to make the most of Robux. Here are 5 different ways you can obtain Robux in Roblox. Some of these are easier than others, so feel free to go with whatever works for you. Here we go!

First, What are Robux?

Robux are ‘Roblox-Bucks’ and is the digital currency used in Roblox and can be earned in-game or purchased with real-world money. These Robux can then be exchanged for digital items within the many games for items from pets to VIP access.

Check out a free Robux site

This is probably the easiest and quickest way to get yourself some Robux. There are many ways to get free Robux, but heading over to a site like the one we’ve linked here is a fantastic way to shore up some in-game cash quickly. You need to make sure that the site you choose is completely safe, of course, and that you’re not going to be scammed, but once you’ve made sure of that, there’s nothing stopping you from building an unstoppable Robux empire for your Roblox avatar.

Remember, not all free Roblox Robux sites are created equal. Some are unscrupulous and don’t have your best interests at heart. It’s very important to keep that in mind as you look for a free Robux provider. The site we’ve linked is an excellent place to start; it’s reputable, reliable, and offers friendly customer support.

Buy Robux with real money

The most straightforward official way to get Robux is simply to buy them from the Roblox website. Roblox offers you the chance to buy Robux in different denominations; you can either buy smaller packs for less money or go for larger-cost value packs that cram more Robux into the deal.

How much are Robux?

The smallest amount you can spend is £4.59, which will net you 400 Robux. Packs increase in price, ending up at £92.99 for a whopping 10,000 Robux. Remember to buy sensibly! It is worth noting that Robux prices do fluctuate and this Robux price was correct at the time of writing

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to get a refund on the Robux you buy and that they can’t be transferred. If Roblox chooses to, it can technically revoke your license to use your Robux, but this won’t happen unless something remarkable occurs (which is extremely rare).

Earn Free Robux Gift Cards

If you are a regular internet surfer, why not earn free Roblox Robux whilst you search. By signing up for Microsoft Rewards and using Bing instead of Google you can build up points that can be redeemed for vouchers. These vouchers include Roblox Robux. 1,500 points will get you 100 Robux 3,000 will get 200 Robux and so on up to 1,000 Robux for 15,000 points. Just by doing what you already do, you can earn free Robux. To help boost the acquisition of points, there are 140 points given every day just for doing a few quizzes or particular searches.

roblox-premium

Subscribe to Roblox Premium

If you’re an avid Roblox fan, you’ll be pleased to know that the game operates a monthly subscription model. Roblox Premium is a service that not only allows you access to a monthly allowance of Robux but also gives you a 10% bonus whenever you buy Robux of any amount. That means that instead of getting 400 Robux from the £4.59 tier, you’ll instead get 440, and so on. Those extra Robux are not to be sniffed at; they’ll really start to add up over time.

Roblox Premium is well worth having if you’re in any way a fan of the game and if you play it a lot. It’ll give you access to Roblox’s in-game economy, which allows you to trade items. Premium also grants you an increased revenue share from your games, so you’ll get more bang for your buck.

Sell your items

Have you made something awesome that you want to share with the Roblox community at large? Selling your items can be a great way to make yourself some Robux. Whatever you’ve made, setting up a marketplace page for it and getting the word out there means you can guarantee at least a few people will see it and possibly even buy it for their avatar. Remember that Roblox takes a 30% cut of your profits when you sell items via the Roblox marketplace.

Another thing to remember is that the community won’t just buy anything. If you want your Roblox creations to stand out and to get more Robux for yourself, you will need to make something memorable and interesting. Don’t simply create a low-effort item and expect to be disproportionately rewarded.

Roblox-games

Create great Roblox games

Roblox is, first and foremost, a game creation suite. With that in mind, perhaps one of the most efficient ways you can get Robux for yourself is to create great games. If you can manage to make something original and interesting, then charging money for it shouldn’t be a problem; word of mouth will spread quickly and players will want to check out the cool game you’ve created. This method does require more effort than the others, but it’s arguably worth it.

Roblox will take a certain percentage of your profits if you create games using the platform. You can reduce this percentage by signing up for the Roblox Premium service. Doing so will mean that you’ll take a bigger cut of the games you sell. Just like with items, make sure that your games are high-quality or people won’t want to buy them.

Best way to buy Robux

There are a few different ways to acquire Robux (mentioned above), some of which are more legitimate than others. Here are a few of the most common ways to buy Robux:

 1. Roblox website: Robux can be purchased directly from the Roblox website using a credit card or PayPal account. This is considered to be the most legitimate and safe way to acquire Robux.
 2. Third-party sellers: Robux can be purchased from third-party sellers, such as online stores or individual sellers. However, it is important to be cautious when buying from third-party sellers, as there have been reports of fraudulent or fake sellers.
 3. Robux generators: There are many websites and apps that claim to offer Robux generators, which promise to give you free Robux. However, these are almost always scams and should be avoided. They may also cause harm to your device.
 4. Some Roblox groups and players may offer Robux in exchange for real money, but it’s important to be careful when buying from unknown players or groups, as they may be a fraud.

Word of Warning

It’s important to note that Roblox has a strict policy against buying, selling, or trading Robux or items outside of the official Roblox platform. Purchasing Robux from unauthorized third-party sites, such as Robux generators, may result in the suspension of your Roblox account.

The i-eXGaming Chair Bean Bag Review

It seems like every streamer and YouTube gamer has their own signature gaming chair. Most look like formula one-inspired car seats with shoulder wings and go-faster stripes. Whilst these pumped-up sports chairs look the business on a stream, they hardly fit in with a three-piece suite found in most living rooms.

Until now, I used a simple faux leather bucket chair and made do, but after being introduced to the i-eX from Been Bag Bazaar I had a change of heart. I rarely review gaming accessories and despite being offered F1-style chairs in the past, I have always said no. Not only would they look ridiculous in my living room, but I have found that wheeled ‘office’ chairs tend to create circles of flattened discoloured carpet and white scratched patches on hardwood floors.

i-eX-gaming Chair

The idea of a lightweight, wide-based beanbag that would work with my leather sofas had me convinced and I wasn’t disappointed. The i-eX, despite its overly ‘techie’ name is amazingly comfortable and surprisingly sturdy. The reclined high back and bucket seat creates a snug gaming positioning whether you are on the edge of your seat playing Resident Evil or cursing across the country in Forza Horizon.

The build quality feels well-made with double stitching and double zips; two elements I appreciated, when my two daughters spent the first week jumping on and off their feet first. Thankfully, I wasn’t cleaning little white polystyrene balls off the carpet.

i-eX-gaming Chair

At 94cm high and 84cm wide, the footprint is perfectly reasonable and suited gamers six-foot and below. All but one of my gamer friends fit the chair comfortably and enjoyed the experience, however when my ‘large’ six-foot-four friend had his chance, I won’t lie, it looked a little awkward.

At just over £70, this is one of the cheapest options in the ‘gaming chair’ space. The faux-leather look and feel is actually 100% polyester, which means it is easy to wipe clean should you be eating and playing at the same time.

Overall, I was really impressed with the i-eX Gaming Bean Bag. As a gaming chair, it is comfortable and supports a natural gaming position. As a seat, its versatile style means that it wouldn’t look out of place in a living room, bedroom, or even garden when the sun decides to show its face. The sleek design is fantastic with additional foam panels stitched into the fabric to help it keep its shape. The build quality was road tested to the max. It managed to take a week of heavy burly men crushing it and two young girls using it as a crash mat in various non-gaming tests. The i-eX won’t be for everyone, as giant gamers may struggle to ‘look’ relaxed and those looking for something that will work with a desk setup will be disappointed. However, for gamers that are looking for simple comfort without the worry of looking like every other streamer, the i-eX is a great choice.

If you are used to a gaming desktop, adjusting to playing using a laptop may be daunting. You may be unsure of whether the device is powerful enough to allow you play the games of your choice or if you have the right gaming chair from https://www.ultimategamechair.com/best-gaming-chairs/. Nonetheless, you can get a superior experience if you consider critical points when purchasing and playing the games. This article gets into the details:

When looking for a gaming laptop, you must:

Choose the Level of Portability That Works For You

The best thing about gaming using a laptop is that you can play at any place and time, thanks to the portability element. It is, however, critical to distinguish between different levels of portability. Powerful laptops are less portable than a regular laptop. It can be attributed to two aspects namely power issues and weight. It is difficult to play a game for hours without the need to recharge a laptop. This necessitates you to stay in one position. However, some of the products are designed in such a way that they can remain functional and yet unplugged to the power source for over six hours.

Laptops that measure 17 to 18 inches have minimal portability. They tend to be heavy to carry and may not fit your regular bag. On the other hand, a laptop of 14 inches weighs less than 5 pounds and has more battery life. Nonetheless, their CPU is not powerful because there is less space for it. With this mind, you may want to make the right trade off. If you choose a portable laptop, there is a chance that the performance will be limited. The more powerful one necessitates that you spend a lot of time near the power source.

Consider the Graphics and Display Features

The graphics card determines the quality of the gaming experience. Its function is to process information and transmitting the signal to the monitor. Considering how stressful the process can be in gaming, there is a need to go for a laptop that features a dedicated memory. It is also known as the video memory. A 4GB RAM works for a majority of people in gaming community.

The quality of graphics in a laptop is determined by various aspects. The first one is the resolution. It must be designed in such a way that you can get good color and details. Some of the modern products feature touch screens and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display. This may enhance the appearance of objects in games. Still, laptops offer you a chance to choose between matte and glossy displays. The former gives vibrant and shiny colors. The latter will eliminate reflections. On the flip side, the colors seem to be washed out.

The Sound Must Be Perfect

When it comes to gaming, sounds are as important as the visuals. It is acceptable to celebrate the high scores and acknowledge the intense moments. Accordingly, you should find a product that has a good surround sound system.

Keyboards and Touchpad Must Be Comfortable To Use

You will have to type several things when gaming. A wrong keyboard and touchpad will waste your time and create a poor experience. Always take time to test this feature before you purchase any product.

gaming laptop

Improving the Performance of Your Device

If your laptop is not performing well, there is no need to panic. You can do several things and get a desirable performance. To start with, removing the dust from the device will enhance its performance. The process of opening all the screws can be challenging. It is, therefore, important to seek for assistance from an expert. On your part, maintain your laptop by ensuring that your environment is free from dust, smoke, and pet hair among other things.

Moreover, you can update your drivers to enhance performance. It is particularly true when it comes to graphics drivers. To keep your battery functional for a long time, you should adjust power settings. It is also important to check your network connections if you are involved in online gaming. While your device may be functioning optimally, poor internet speed will affect your ability to enjoy your games.

Furthermore, you must manage automatic updates well. Without proper settings, you are likely to be reminded constantly of the updates. It will in turn affect the laptop’s performance levels. One of the ways in which you can go about this is to keep the device offline while playing. Alternatively, you can install updates before playing. You may also deactivate some applications if they are unnecessary in gaming.

Type of Games to Play on Your Laptop

It may be difficult to play graphic-intensive games on a laptop. The newly developed games have these features. If your laptop is not powerful enough, find older games. You will accomplish this easily by comparing the age of your laptop and the time a game was released. Remember that you do not have to settle for boring games. All you need to do is to do proper research. The online gaming community will make suggestions if you are stuck at some point. It is also worth noting that the most powerful laptops can be used to play older and newer games. While they may be expensive and less portable, you will eliminate these limitations.

Taking Care of Yourself

A majority of gamers take poor postures when playing games using their laptop. They place the device on their laps and slouch for hours. It will lead to backaches and fatigue. Avoid this by buying a good gaming chair and desk. You must also ensure that the device is not too close to your eyes while playing to avoid eyestrains. Further, play moderately. Chances of getting addicted to gaming are higher when using a laptop because you can take the device with you to any place, including your bedroom and school.

All in all, it is possible to have a superb experience if you find a functional laptop for gaming. Adjusting the settings and proper maintenance is also pertinent.
