While World of Warcraft offers hundreds of unique mounts to discover, the very rarest stand miles above the rest in prestige for dedicated collectors. We scoured Azeroth compiling 10 extraordinarily exclusive and coveted mounts attainable in-game guaranteed to evoke jealousy across your guild and server by their sheer rarity.

If you’re looking to expand your collection, or just starting, you might want to check out a comprehensive selection of WoW mounts.

Let’s unveil the cream of the crop targets cementing exclusive reputations as mount masters.

Rivendare’s Deathcharger

Rivendare’s Deathcharger

No list starts without the notorious undead mount of Baron Rivendare in classic Stratholme. While the Baron’s skeletal steed strikes imposing dread, don’t be discouraged by the infinitesimal 0.7% drop rate. True mount sultans must endure those grinding odds. Perseverance pays off for only the most committed eventual victors allowed to ride this extremely rare jewel as their undead prize.

Ashes of Al’ar

Ashes of Al’ar

For those with an affinity for all things fiery and phoenix, earning bragging rights piloting these smoldering Ashes demands defeating mythic bosses Kael’thas. The catch? Veteran mount collectors report sometimes hundreds of fruitless boss attempts before Al’ar’s Ashes finally rise granting that radiant orange glow to the fortunate few warriors eventually proving worthy owners of this severely scarce mount.

Amani Battle Bear

Amani Battle Bear

Rightfully reserved solely for the hardiest master-level dungeoneers, the prestigious Amani Battle Bear emerges only when tackling time trial timed runs after all other bosses within Zul’Aman already lay waste in just a fraction total timeframe. Even then, RNG may deny it despite tremendous efforts. Relentlessly swift and mighty, veterans sporting this prodigious trophy signify flawless coordination and grit matched by only an elite tier of champions.

Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent

Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent

Floating on clouds signals true ascendance in Pandaria. However, earning the right to glide heavenward atop this resplendent Onyx serpent requires an arduous pilgrimage. Adventurers must tour all continent temples, honoring the deities of Pandarian legend. Only then following exhaustive tribute does Emperor Shaohao entrust worthy travelers with a spawn of his divine cloud serpents transferring that hallowed air supremacy.

Mythic Jaina Proudmoore Mount

Mythic Jaina Proudmoore Mount

The very definition of legendary difficulty, Lady Jaina’s crystalline radiant mount Glacial Tidestorm proves utterly unattainable to all but a tiny fraction of top-tier mythic raiders able to finally overwhelm her after hundreds of unsuccessful attempts. Though she eventually yields her gorgeous prized mount to superlative combatants, her next challengers often require months of preparing before daring to face such absurd odds.

Headless Horseman’s Mount

Spawning the Headless Horseman’s Mount

Like its namesake headless rider, predictions around sightings of this phantom steed remain truly dead wrong. Once per year during Hallow’s Eve, intrepid explorers brave the Shade of the Horseman’s ominous dungeon with meager hope his nightmarish mount escapes at last. Despite endless yearly tries by masses, few ever tame this wild spectral stallion during their terrifying pumpkin-picking misadventures.

Green Proto-Drake

Green Proto-Drake Plundered from the Ulduar Raid

This luminous emerald proto-drake egg endures closely protected by monolithic watchers guarding dungeon troves within the titanic complex Ulduar. But somehow each year a small contingent of bold thieves manage to crack Ulduar security measures emerging with a rare proto-drake egg in tow ready for hatching. Quickly leveling up orphaned hatchling wyrms to adulthood bestows those sneaky heist artists with a dazzling viridian-glowing draconic trophy permanently flaunting their epic Ulduar score.

Kodo

Rolling Around on the Great Brewfest Kodo Mount

Each fall the joyous revelries of Brewfest fill the air but empty most pockets during rowdy drunken debauchery. Only the shrewdest Brewfest gamblers budget adequately for this carousing by hoarding mass prize tickets sacrificing personal delights. Trading hundreds of tickets finally redeems that elusive oversized riding Kodo delivering home happy drunks greatly with pride… and ideally no hangovers.

Undead Frankenstein Gathering Rustfeather upon Mechagon Island

Playing Undead Frankenstein Gathering Rustfeather upon Mechagon Island

Within the strangely sprouted mechanical jungle landscape of Mechagon, local climatology and engineering accidents spawn peculiar hybrid creatures. These beings, like the armored pterrordax Rustfeather, are living metal hybrids. Stalking this rare spawn through jungle thickets amidst rampaging robo-dinosaurs tests the survival skills of even hardy veteran outdoorsmen. Capturing one grant these primal scientists something astonishing: a specialized pterrordax mount. This mount serves as a constant reminder of the hardship endured and the lessons learned from taming jungle beasts. It symbolizes the fusion of the wild with technology.

Frenzied Feltalon of the Argus Nether

Frenzied Feltalon of the Argus Nether

When demonic Legion invaders besieged planets, battles centered around macabre Antoran Wastes of volatile planet Argus. Throughout violent clashes, horrific chimeric experimentations produced frightening advancing hybrids like the Frenzied Feltalon mount. Veterans of those hellish campaigns rarely mention the sacrifices endured searing minds eternally. But at least their glistening otherworldly Feltalon trophies showcase victory despite the harrowing era now thankfully confined to memories.

Expert Tips: Mastering the Rare Mount Grind

Overcoming Brutal Odds Through Preparation

Slaying mythic bosses or grinding negligible drops tests sanity. But maximizing odds involves diligent strategizing, not blind luck. Approach each mount’s unique hurdles prepared:

Gear Up and Enchant

Attain best-in-slot gear with optimal secondary stats and weapon enchants ensuring your toon hits/survives hard. Inspect what top-ranking players prioritize equipping.

Assemble Elite Support Squads

Grouping amplifies the odds tremendously compared to soloing, especially with communication software like Discord. Build trusted mount farming teams able to persevere through endlessly repeated attempts.

Simulate and Learn Encounters

Exhaust online tutorials fully grasp every nuance of engagements, optimizing cooldown rotations and positioning. Recruit mentors familiar with the strategy guiding initial attempts.

Time Investment and Persistence

Budgeting 20+ hours weekly over months of attempts still may not suffice initially for the rarest drops under 1%. But slowly improving execution run after run ultimately pays dividends down the road at the most unexpected moments.

Patience Over Frustration

Abysmal mount drop rates understandably infuriate teams after so much wasted effort. But consistent positive progress mindsets sustain momentum through statistics eventually favoring success.

Celebrate Milestones Not Just Mounts

While the singular moment of animal acquirement fulfills the prize target, make sure to commemorate incremental goal markers throughout the grueling grind. Every 1% drop rate increase brings you closer to a thrilling climax!

With the right communal approach and mental framing, the formidable mount climb transitions from luck-based wishing into inevitably ascendant journeys destined to summit peak rarity.

In Conclusion: The Mounts That Mark Legends

Owning any of these rare mounts is not just about having a unique way to traverse the world of Azeroth. It’s about the stories, the challenges, and the achievements they represent. Each one is a testament to the dedication, skill, and sometimes the sheer luck of the player. Whether you’re a collector, a hardcore raider, or a PvP champion, these mounts are symbols of prestige that will make you the envy of your guild and the entire World of Warcraft community. So, saddle up and start your journey. Who knows? Maybe the next rare mount will be yours!

Minecraft was released in 2011 by Mojang Studios. It’s a sandbox 3D game that continues to trend and gain more players as the years roll over. In 2023, the number of Minecraft players reached and exceeded 180 million. It lets you build, interact, and explore 3D structures.

You can be a solo player or multiplayer. Multiplayer allows you to play with close friends or international players. You can experience this by hosting or renting a Minecraft server, but we recommend the latter.

In this piece, we explore the benefits of renting a Minecraft server, what to consider before renting one, and how you can rent it.

Why You Should Rent a Minecraft Server?

You can play Minecraft for free on your computer as a solo player. Multiplayer options include hosting a local server on your computer and hosting it online (renting). The latter benefits more than playing for free or hosting a local server.

Benefits of renting a Minecraft server include:

It Costs Less

Hosting a server may seem like a good idea initially, but it’s expensive. You have to run your computer 24/7. It consumes a lot of electricity, costing you around $650 annually. However, there are affordable hosting providers like ScalaCube that offer hosting a Minecraft server for as low as $2 per month.

You Have Full Control Over Gameplay

Minecraft-shaders

You gain complete control over game rules. This means that you can adjust game settings to your liking. You can do this through in-game settings like adjusting resources, health, and damage. On top of that, you can enhance game difficulty and add creativity to game modes by creating new challenges.

It Has Low Latency and Allows Fast Connectivity

Compared to hosting, renting a Minecraft server allows you to play smoothly. It’ll enable fast connectivity speeds, and you won’t be distracted by buffering while playing. However, hosting a local server while relying on an internet service provider can result in a slow connectivity speed.

You can barely enjoy the game with low speeds due to constant “loading” distractions. This also uses a lot of bandwidth. As a result, you won’t be able to use your internet for anything besides hosting the Minecraft server and playing the game.

You Can Host More Players

Renting a Minecraft server means accessing a robust hardware machine that hosts many other players. It’s solely used to host the Minecraft game, so there’s no competition for its resources. As a result, there’s reduced lag and smoother gameplay for each hosted player.

It’s Available 24/7

As mentioned above, hosting a server means your computer has to be on 24/7. If it goes off for some reason, then you’ll find no players when you turn it on. You’ll have to start afresh with getting players back into gameplay.

When renting a server, on the other hand, its operation isn’t affected by you switching off your computer. It continues to run from the hosting service you’re renting, and you’ll find it running when you turn your computer on to return to the game.

Things to Consider When Renting a Minecraft Server

It’s essential to do your research before renting a Minecraft server. Like anything you spend your money on, it must work in your favor by covering most of what you’re looking for. These are the elements to consider when searching for a good Minecraft server:

Its Performance

The best Minecraft server service platforms are transparent about performance. This is made up of the RAM, CPU, and Bandwidth. These can determine whether you’ll have hiccups or smooth gameplay while renting the server.

RAM is Random Access Memory and influences the quantity of data the server can handle at once. It’s affected by the amount of players a server hosts. With enough RAM, you can load game elements quickly and have fewer lags or delays. So, it should be 2GB for one to two players, 5GB for two to six players, and 8GB for more than six players, and so on.

CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It allows a quick navigation of game features, processes player actions fast, and the ability to use various game technologies simultaneously. It must be at least 2GHz or more for decent performance.

Bandwidth handles the transmission of data between the server and players. High bandwidth enables quick responsiveness and lower latency, allowing data to move swiftly between the parties. It should be at least 45 Mbit/s for six or more players.

The Costs

The rental cost of a Minecraft server varies with different providers. Prices are affected by the standard of the server and the resources that come with it. Some servers allow you to customize your servers to adjust their features to what you can afford. Others come with various tiers containing specific attributes that determine the price.

Most providers have monthly and annual billing plans. Annual billing plans are cost-effective and usually come with a discount. So, opting for an annual plan means you won’t have to worry about paying for a while and pay less than you’d have if you had opted for a monthly plan.

Customer Support

Check if the Minecraft server provider offers support. Ideally, this should be available 24/7 with quick, accurate responses that won’t distract or delay your gameplay.

How to Rent A Minecraft Server

Are you ready to rent a Minecraft server but aren’t sure how? Follow our steps below:

  1. Choose a Provider

Use the above qualities to choose a good Minecraft server provider.

  1. Select a Plan

You’ll find different plans with different features and prices. So, ensure you select the package that addresses your needs and is within your budget.

  1. Set Up the Server

To set up your Minecraft server, you have to:

  • Sign in to the provider’s site and navigate to the dashboard.
  • Install the Minecraft server.
  • Customize server settings, i.e., mode and difficulty.
  • Ensure that the server is accessible to other players before starting it.
  • Try connecting to the server on Minecraft to see if it’s working.
  • Let friends and other fellow players know about the server and how they can join it.

In Closing

Renting a Minecraft server is more beneficial than hosting one in many ways. It costs less and doesn’t need you to ensure your computer runs 24/7 to keep players who’ve joined worldwide. On top of that, you have control over gameplay, and you can choose a package with the player capacity you’re looking for.

You also won’t have to worry about connectivity speed, data processing, and transmission, as most providers ensure seamless gameplay by taking care of their performance elements.

Shotguns have always been a fundamental weapon of a Guardian’s arsenal in Destiny 2, offering devastating close-quarters firepower. In this guide, we’ll delve into the top 10 shotguns in Destiny 2 that every Guardian should consider for their loadout. Whether you’re facing hordes of enemies in PvE or battling it out in the Crucible, these shotguns are sure to make a significant impact.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Here are the key takeaways from this article:

  1. Weapon’s Archetype, Range, Impact, Traits and Perks are crucial factors when choosing the best Shotgun in Destiny 2.
  2. The top 10 Shotguns in Destiny 2 include: Fatebringer, Sunshot, Thorn, Epochal Integrations, Zaouli’s Bane, Eriana’s Vow, Malfeasance.
  3. To master the Shotguns in PvE and PvP content you should focus on positioning, maintaining a close-range combat & landing the pellets constantly.

Choosing the perfect Shotgun can be quite daunting for players who aren’t deeply familiar with the perks & traits intricacies. Thankfully, we suggest you consider professional assistance to receive the best Destiny 2 services and obtain the perfect weapon loadout for your Guardian in no time.

FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR SHOTGUN

When selecting the perfect Shotgun in Destiny 2, it’s crucial to consider several factors that can impact your weapon’s capabilities in PvE or PvP content. Here are the key aspects to keep in mind:

Archetype and RPM (Rounds Per Minute): Different shotguns have varying fire rates, impacting their playstyle. For example, lightweight shotguns typically have a higher RPM, making them better suited for aggressive playstyles, while precision shotguns may have a slower fire rate but higher impact.

Perks: Pay attention to the perks available for shotguns. These can greatly influence their effectiveness. Look for perks like “Slideshot” (which reloads the weapon partially upon sliding), “Quickdraw” (for faster draw times), and various damage-dealing perks. Consider perks that enhance handling, stability, and range.

Range and Impact: These are crucial stats for shotguns. Range determines how far your shots can effectively reach, and impact influences how much damage each pellet does. Balancing these two factors is important for finding a shotgun that suits your preferred engagement distances.

Ammo Economy: Consider the shotgun’s ammo economy. Shotguns use special ammo which can be limited in PvP or in certain PvE scenarios. Remember to also consider your personal playstyle and preferences.

Some players may prioritize mobility and quick-draw capabilities, while others may focus on maximizing range and damage output.

It’s an impressive craftable weapon that has a perfect synergy across its perk pool and stats. In PvE, it can clear out waves of enemies with ease, thanks to its high damage output.

Destiny Shotguns

It’s a Kinetic shotgun that can dominate in the Crucible, especially when paired with the right perks like “Opening Shot” and “Quickdraw.” In the hands of a skilled Guardian, Astral Horizon can shut down opponents from distances that many other shotguns simply can’t reach.

Destiny Shotguns

No.7: Matador 64

Matador 64 is a unique shotgun that can be found in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, known for its combination of high impact bullets and the “Opening Shot” perk, allowing it to hold a devastating shot in the magazine on your first hit.

This makes it a standout choice for activities where sustained fire is crucial, like in Gambit or high-level PvP encounters. Its high damage output and unique perk combination make it a favorite among Guardians.

Destiny Shotguns

No.8: The Fourth Horseman

The Fourth Horseman is a unique shotgun with a distinctive perk called “Thunderer.” This exotic perk allows it to fire all of its rounds in rapid succession with a single trigger pull.

The perk makes it an absolute beast in close-quarters combat, able to unleash a devastating barrage of buckshot in the blink of an eye. It’s especially effective in situations where a high burst of damage is needed, making it a popular choice in both PvE and PvP encounters.

Destiny Shotguns

No.9: Retold Tale

The Retold Tale is a legendary shotgun known for its reliability and adaptability. It shows off a balanced set of stats, making it suitable for a wide range of scenarios. What sets it apart are its perk options, which allow Guardians to customize it to their playstyle.

Whether you prefer increased range, faster reloads, or enhanced stability, the Retold Tale can be tailored to suit your needs. This versatility makes it a popular choice for Guardians looking for a dependable shotgun in various activities.

Destiny Shotguns

No.10: Gunnora’s Axe

Gunnora’s Axe is a unique shotgun that stands out for its precision. It features the “Opening Shot” perk, which grants improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of an attack.

This makes it a valuable tool for Guardians who excel at landing critical shots, especially in PvP scenarios. While it may not have the raw power of some other shotguns, its precision-focused perks make it a niche choice that can be devastating in the right hands.

Conclusion

In the world of Destiny 2, a Guardian’s choice of shotgun can mean the difference between victory and defeat. From the precision of The Chaperone to the devastating firepower of The Fourth Horseman, these shotguns have earned their place in the arsenal of Guardians across the system.

Whether you’re seeking to dominate the Crucible or face down the most formidable foes in PvE encounters, there’s a shotgun on this list that’s ready to answer the call. Armed with one of these top-tier shotguns, you’ll be well-equipped to face any challenge that Destiny 2 throws your way.

Safe travels, Guardian, and may your shots always find their mark.

Quests, quests, quests

Engaging in quests within World of Warcraft (WoW) is a highly effective method for leveling up at a faster pace compared to simple monster grinding. Questing not only provides experience points but also rewards players with valuable gear upgrades along the way, making it a rewarding and efficient means of progression.

Quests in WoW are designed to provide an immersive and engaging experience for players. They often involve a storyline, requiring players to complete a series of tasks or solve challenges within the game world. These quests offer substantial amounts of experience points upon completion, allowing players to level up their characters more quickly compared to mindlessly grinding monsters.

World-of-Warcraft-Quests

One of the key advantages of questing is the additional rewards it offers. Alongside experience points, quests often provide players with gear upgrades as rewards. These upgrades can greatly enhance a player’s character, increasing their combat effectiveness and providing a sense of progression. Whether it’s a powerful weapon, a sturdy piece of armor, or a valuable accessory, these rewards help players stay equipped with the best-in-slot gear for their level.

In addition to experience points and gear upgrades, questing also offers other benefits. It allows players to explore the vast and immersive world of Azeroth, unraveling its lore, discovering hidden locations, and interacting with diverse NPCs and factions. This not only enriches the gameplay experience but also adds a sense of achievement and fulfillment as players uncover new areas and progress through intricate storylines.

Questing in WoW presents players with a structured and rewarding path to leveling up faster. By engaging in quests, players can earn substantial experience points, acquire valuable gear upgrades, and delve into the captivating lore of the game. This method of progression not only provides a more engaging gameplay experience but also contributes to a sense of accomplishment as players journey through Azeroth, becoming more powerful and capable adventurers.

World-of-Warcraft-Dungeons

Spam dungeons

Engaging in dungeons through the Dungeon Finder in World of Warcraft (WoW) is widely regarded as one of the most efficient ways to level up your character. It not only offers a swift progression but also ensures that your gear remains as strong as possible throughout the leveling process. Moreover, dungeon spamming provides a glimpse into the gameplay mechanics that await at higher levels.

The Dungeon Finder tool revolutionized the leveling experience in WoW by enabling players to easily group up with others and venture into instanced dungeons tailored for their level. Mastering the art of dungeon spamming involves repeatedly completing these dungeons in rapid succession, exploiting the short queue times provided by the Dungeon Finder.

This approach to leveling offers several advantages. First and foremost, dungeon spamming yields significant amounts of experience points per run, which allows for rapid character progression. Each completed dungeon rewards players with a substantial XP boost that greatly surpasses the experience gained from traditional questing or monster grinding.

Additionally, regularly participating in dungeons ensures that your character’s gear remains optimized throughout the leveling process. Dungeons drop a variety of equipment, including weapons, armor, and accessories, which are often superior to what can be obtained through other means. By spamming dungeons, you’ll be able to acquire powerful gear upgrades that enhance your character’s combat capabilities, ensuring a smoother and more effective leveling experience.

Furthermore, dungeon spamming serves as a preview of the gameplay dynamics that await at higher levels. Coordinating with a group, managing threat, and executing strategies against bosses are all fundamental aspects of endgame content. By familiarizing yourself with these mechanics during the leveling process, you’ll be better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead when you reach maximum level.

Dungeon spamming through the Dungeon Finder is widely recognized as one of the best methods for leveling up your character efficiently in WoW. It offers substantial experience points, allows for the acquisition of powerful gear upgrades, and provides a glimpse into the gameplay mechanics that define high-level content. Embrace this approach to maximize your character’s potential and progress swiftly towards becoming a formidable adventurer in Azeroth.

World-of-Warcraft

Get a boost

Opting for a Leveling Boost in World of Warcraft (WoW) can be an incredibly advantageous choice for players seeking a swift journey to higher levels. It stands out as the easiest and most efficient method for reaching the maximum level, surpassing the leveling efficiency of even the most skilled regular player across any class.

A leveling boost offers players the opportunity to instantly advance their character to a higher level, bypassing the early stages of the leveling process. This grants immediate access to more challenging content, advanced abilities, and a broader range of gameplay options.

WoW boost is particularly beneficial for players who have limited time or prefer to focus on endgame activities. It eliminates the need to spend hours grinding through low-level quests and mobs, allowing you to jump right into the more exciting and engaging aspects of the game.

Also, a booster, which is usually an experienced player with extensive knowledge of the game, knows the most efficient leveling routes, quest chains, and optimal strategies. With their expertise, they can guide your character through the leveling process with remarkable speed and effectiveness.

The efficiency of a leveling boost is not limited to specific classes or character archetypes. Whether you prefer a versatile spellcaster, a robust warrior, a stealthy rogue, or any other class, a booster can navigate through their respective leveling mechanics and optimize the experience gain accordingly.

By opting for a leveling boost, you embrace the opportunity to swiftly join the ranks of high-level players and immerse yourself in endgame content. The boost not only saves you time but also ensures that you can fully experience the more challenging and rewarding aspects of WoW. With a professional booster at your side, you can confidently explore the vast world of Azeroth and make rapid progress towards becoming a powerful and accomplished adventurer.

To sum up, a leveling boost in WoW is the easiest and most efficient way to rapidly progress your character to higher levels. It surpasses the leveling proficiency of regular players and grants immediate access to advanced content. With the guidance of a knowledgeable booster, you can navigate through any class with impressive speed and effectiveness, accelerating your journey towards the pinnacle of WoW’s endgame experience.

The world of Skyrim is vast, filled with dragons, mystical creatures, and endless adventures. As you embark on your journey through this epic realm, one of the first decisions you’ll make is choosing your character’s race. With ten different races to choose from, each offering unique abilities and attributes, it’s vital to make an informed choice. In this guide, we’ll rank the races in Skyrim from worst to best, taking into account their abilities, strengths, and how they complement different character builds.

Ranking the Races: From Worst to Best

Skyrim-Khajiit-

10. Khajiit

Homeland: Elsweyr Unique Power: Night Eye Bonus Effect: +15% Base Unarmed Damage

At the bottom of the list are the Khajiit. While they may be intriguing for their feline nature, their abilities are generally lackluster. Night Eye provides better night vision, but it’s not significantly useful in the well-lit world of Skyrim. Unarmed damage is a niche interest, making them a less practical choice.

Skyrim-Argonian

9. Argonian

Homeland: Black Marsh Unique Power: Histskin Bonus Effect: 50% Disease Resistance, Waterbreathing

Argonians boast a unique set of skills, including Waterbreathing and Histskin, which rapidly regenerates health. However, disease resistance isn’t particularly valuable, and Waterbreathing has limited application, as Skyrim’s underwater world is sparse. Histskin’s healing boost can be handy but is situational.

Skyrim-Redguard

8. Redguard

Homeland: Hammerfell Unique Power: Adrenaline Rush Bonus Effect: 50% Poison Resistance

The Redguards of Hammerfell are well-suited to physical combat, with a focus on One-Handed and Block. Adrenaline Rush provides a burst of stamina regeneration, useful in battle. However, their 50% Poison Resistance might not be as essential as other resistances, making them less versatile.

Dunmer

7. Dunmer (Dark Elves)

Homeland: Morrowind Unique Power: Ancestor’s Wrath Bonus Effect: 50% Fire Resistance

The Dunmer’s natural resistance to fire and their Ancestor’s Wrath ability can be handy. They excel as mage-rogue hybrids with a bonus in Destruction. However, they aren’t the best in either category, making them a balanced but not extraordinary choice.

Bosmer

6. Bosmer (Wood Elves)

Homeland: Valenwood Unique Power: Command Animal Bonus Effect: 50% Disease Resistance, 50% Poison Resistance

Bosmer’s poison and disease resistance make them durable against certain foes. Command Animal is fun but situational. However, their skills aren’t as powerful as some of the higher-ranked races for specific character builds.

Imperials

5. Imperial

Homeland: Cyrodiil Unique Power: Voice of the Emperor Bonus Effect: Find More Gold than Usual

Imperials bring unique abilities to the table. Voice of the Emperor can defuse tense situations, and they have a knack for finding more gold. While not combat-focused, their versatile skill set is valuable for a variety of character types.

Nords

4. Nord

Homeland: Skyrim Unique Power: Battle Cry Bonus Effect: 50% Frost Resistance

The Nords have an edge in combat, excelling in Two-Handed and Blocking. Their Battle Cry can save you when outnumbered. The 50% Frost Resistance is beneficial in Skyrim, where ice spells are common. Their durability and narrative relevance make them a solid choice.

Skyrim-Altmer-High-Elf

3. Altmer (High Elves)

Homeland: Summerset Isles Unique Power: Highborn Bonus Effect: +50 Magicka

The High Elves boast exceptional magical aptitude. Their Highborn ability significantly boosts magicka regeneration, making them perfect for mage characters. They excel in Illusion, Conjuration, and more. Their extra magicka is a substantial bonus.

Skyrim-Orc-Warrior

2. Orc

Homeland: High Rock and Orsinium Unique Power: Berserker Rage Bonus Effect: Can join Orc camps without becoming Blood-Kin

Orcs are the formidable warriors of Skyrim, excelling in Heavy Armor and Smithing, making and using powerful weapons and equipment. Their Berserker Rage doubles their damage output and halves the damage received. While it’s limited to once per day, it’s exceptionally potent.

Breton

1. Breton

Homeland: High Rock Unique Power: Dragonskin Bonus Effect: 25% Magic Resistance

At the top of our list stands the Breton. Their resistance to magic is invaluable in Skyrim, where magical attacks are abundant. Dragonskin grants them protection against magic, and the bonus conjuration magic and magicka make them a top choice for mages and various character builds. The Breton’s magical resilience sets them apart.

Which will you choose?

Choosing your character’s race in Skyrim is a significant decision. While personal preferences matter, understanding each race’s strengths and weaknesses is essential. The Breton, with their magic resistance, and the Altmer, the masters of magic, are prime choices for many character builds. However, all races have their unique charm, and your adventure in Skyrim will ultimately be shaped by your gameplay style and preferences. Happy adventuring!

Need a Second Opinion?

Playing Rust solo can be a challenging experience, but with the right tips, strategies, and best rust hacks, you can thrive in this dangerous world. In this guide, we’ll provide some essential Rust solo play tips to help you survive and succeed.

So, whether you’re a seasoned Rust player looking to switch to solo play or a newcomer to the game, this article will provide you with the knowledge and strategies you need to navigate the world of Rust as a lone wolf. Let’s get started!

rust game guide

Understanding the Basics

If you’re new to Rust, playing solo can be a daunting experience. However, with the right strategies and mindset, surviving and even thriving in the game’s harsh world is possible. This section covers the basics of Rust solo play, including starting, surviving the first night, and crafting essentials.

Starting Out

When you spawn in Rust, you’ll be on a beach with nothing but a rock and torch. Your first goal should be to gather resources and build a base. Look for rocks, trees, and hemp plants to gather stone, wood, and cloth. You can craft tools, weapons, and clothing.

It’s essential to choose a good location for your base. Look for an area that’s not too close to other players’ bases but not too far from resources. You’ll also want to consider the terrain and natural defenses, such as cliffs or rivers, that can make it harder for other players to raid your base.

Surviving the First Night

The first night in Rust can be the most challenging, as you’ll be vulnerable to other players and wildlife attacks. To survive, you’ll need to find shelter and protect yourself.

Look for a cave or a rocky overhang to shelter in for the night. You can use your torch to light up the area and scare off animals. You can build a simple wooden shelter using your gathered resources if you can’t find a natural shelter.

Crafting Essentials

Crafting is a crucial part of Rust’s solo play, as it allows you to create tools, weapons, and other items that will help you survive and thrive. As you progress in the game, you can craft more advanced items like guns and explosives. Some essential items to craft early on include:

  • Stone hatchet: This tool allows you to gather resources more efficiently.
  • Bow and arrows: A ranged weapon is vital to defending yourself and hunting animals.
  • Sleeping bag: This item will enable you to respawn at your base if you die.
  • Wooden door: A door is essential for securing your base and keeping other players out.

Exploration and Navigation

Exploration and navigation are crucial to surviving the harsh environment when playing Rust solo. Here are some tips to help you navigate the world as a lone wolf.

Understanding the Map

The map in Rust is an essential tool for solo players. It can help you navigate the terrain, find resources, and avoid danger zones. Take the time to study the map and familiarize yourself with the different areas. You can access the map by pressing your keyboard’s “G” key.

Identifying Landmarks

Landmarks can help you navigate the world and find your way around. Look for unique features such as rock formations, rivers, and mountains. These can help you orient yourself and return to your base. You can also find resources such as mining nodes and animal spawn spawns.

Avoiding Danger Zones

As a solo player, it’s essential to avoid danger zones. These are areas where other players or NPCs are likely to attack you. Examples include rad towns, military tunnels, and monuments. If you must enter a danger zone, be prepared and bring enough supplies to defend yourself. It’s also a good idea to scout the area first and ensure it’s safe before venturing in.

Conclusion

Playing Rust as a solo player can be a daunting experience, but it can also be advantageous with the right mindset and approach. Following the tips outlined in this article can increase your chances of survival, thrive in the game world, and even have fun while playing alone.

Playing Rust solo can be an exciting and rewarding experience. So go out there, explore the game world, and see what adventures await you as a lone wolf in Rust!

Undisputed Update – 17th April 2023

Undisputed Update 2: New Fighters, Venues, and Gameplay Changes!

Undisputed has just received a brand new update, and it’s packed with exciting new content! In this latest patch, players will get their hands on four new fighters, a new venue, and some major changes to the game’s AI, gameplay, and fighter ratings.

The developers have been listening to feedback from the community, and this update addresses some key issues while also introducing new content that’s sure to keep players hooked. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in this update.

New Fighters Join the Roster

Undisputed’s latest update introduces four new fighters, each with their own unique fighting style and signature moves. Vasilii Lomachenko brings swift footwork and directional punches to the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions, while Amir Khan is a welcome addition to the Lightweight, Welterweight, and Middleweight divisions. Heavyweight division gets a new addition in the form of Floyd Patterson, who introduces the peek-a-boo style to Undisputed. Finally, Daniel Jacobs joins the Middleweight division, bringing his own unique set of skills to the ring. Check out each fighter’s roster profile to learn more about their strengths and weaknesses.

New Venue: Kiritsu Arena

Undisputed’s latest update also adds a brand new venue to the game. Kiritsu Arena is a Japanese-inspired pentagonal-shaped venue that emphasizes discipline and control. This new arena is sure to test players’ ring control and boxing mastery.

Gameplay Changes and Improvements

In addition to new fighters and venues, the latest update to Undisputed also brings a number of changes and improvements to the game’s gameplay and AI. The damage/health system has been streamlined to one overall head zone and one overall body zone, encouraging players to mix up their fight styles and resulting in better-quality matches online. Fighters are now more likely to hit their opponent into a dazed state by mixing up punches and landing combinations, rather than spamming the same punch repeatedly. Movement speed of fighters that are dazed has also been reduced, making it easier for players to cut off the ring and secure a finish when an opponent is hurt.

Additionally, a warning has been added to the in-fight UI that will show players if they are close to being dazed, and the sectional body-part UI has been removed. The curve has been reduced across overall stamina/stamina regeneration, which means fighters with higher-rated stamina have a less steep advantage. Finally, the post-fight results screen now shows both fighters’ remaining health and stamina at the time the fight ended.

Undisputed AI Overhaul

Undisputed’s latest update also features a complete overhaul of the game’s AI system. The new system allows developers to control and adjust more elements of the AI’s gameplay, resulting in improved ring movement, punch and stamina management, and weaving/dodging. Players can expect to see continued improvements, including a more noticeable difference between fighter styles over time.

The Future of Undisputed

Undisputed’s developers are committed to addressing key issues and concerns raised by the community. They’re currently testing solutions to address the issue of body uppercut spam, improving online stability, and rooting out cheaters from online play. While some of these solutions are still multiple updates away, the team is working hard to implement them as soon as possible.

Undisputed Update 2 – TL/DR

Undisputed’s latest update is a promising step forward for the game. With new fighters, a new venue, and a slew of improvements to gameplay and AI, players have plenty of reasons to jump back into the ring. The developers are actively listening to feedback and working to address community concerns, which bodes well for the future of the game. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in future

Undisputed Update – 14th September 2023

Key Features of Early Access Career Mode:

  • Create your own player – male or female – customise your boxer from hairstyle to body weight (which determines your weight class), clothing and fighting styles.
  • Build a team. Build a future. Assemble the best team of managers, cutmen and coach around your fighter to progress and develop your skills, earn money, fame, affinity, and experience as you go for gold.

  • Choose your path to Glory. Make your own goals and define your own success story. Winning all the belts, including WBO, WBC, IBF and SCI? Retire with having the highest fan base and/or wealth?

New Fighters

  • Larry Holmes joins the heavyweight division.
  • Kevin Kelley joins the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions.
  • Lerrone Richards joins the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions.
  • Carl Frampton joins the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions
  • Riddick Bowe joins the Heavyweight division
  • Xu Can added to the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions.

Venues

  • St Andrew’s Sporting Club, a licensed venue from Glasgow, Scotland. St Andrew’s is a compact, five-star, VIP hospitality setting, and is widely recognised as the home of Scottish boxing.
  • Reworked Santiago Gym with new buildings and other slight adjustments.
  • Revamped lighting in Turner’s Gym
  • Added C7 Hangar, a large aircraft hangar located along the western coast of the United States that has been converted into an events hall.
  • Added Falcor Bay, a venue set in the open square of an old cobbled Mediterranean town at sunset.

New Gameplay Changes

Implemented a new movement mechanic to help players close the gap and make inside fighting a more viable option. Fighters can now dodge diagonally forward-right and forward-left, which we hope will make a big impact and improve fighting on the front foot for fighters like Frazier, Porter, and Marciano. You can activate the diagonal dodge by holding the front right bumper and then flicking your left joystick up or down.

We’ve enabled stance-switching in online play, which means fighters like Usyk can now switch from Southpaw to Orthodox in online fights. Switch stances by pressing the right arrow on your controller.

Improved the stance-switching animation.

Adjusted how all boxers enter weave blocking to be smoother.

Expanded trait system to include three separate levels for each trait, increasing a fighter’s abilities at each level. You will start to see additional fighter trait level adjustments in updates moving forward.

Reduced the movement speed of fighters when they’re dazed.

Introduced stamina scaling across weight classes. This means that we’re now able to balance stamina in each weight class individually, so heavier weight classes will use more stamina and should throw fewer punches than lighter weight classes.

Slightly reduced maximum movement speed for all fighters.

Bioshock Infinite, developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games in 2013, introduced players to a whole new world of Columbia. Columbia is a stunningly beautiful floating city, and one of the most captivating locations in video game history. The game’s designers and developers crafted a unique and compelling world, inspired by various sources, that left an indelible impression on players.

Bioshock Infinite Images – Columbia

Conception and Inspiration

Columbia’s conception began with the idea of creating a floating city that would serve as the game’s setting. The idea was not unique to Bioshock Infinite, as the notion of a city in the sky has been a recurring theme in literature and cinema. The game’s creative director, Ken Levine, drew inspiration from classic works of science fiction such as Jules Verne’s “From the Earth to the Moon” and H.G. Wells’ “The War of the Worlds.”

However, the team’s primary source of inspiration was the American exceptionalism movement, a philosophy that propagated the belief that the United States was a unique and superior nation. The game’s designers used the movement’s ideals to create Columbia, a city that embodied the best of America and was meant to serve as a symbol of American power and greatness.

“I think we were able to create something that was not just a setting but a character in and of itself, with its own personality and quirks. It was a place that players could get lost in and explore for hours, discovering new secrets and stories along the way.”

– Nate Wells, Art Director

Bioshock Infinite Images – People

The Creation Process

The creation of Columbia was a long and challenging process. The team spent several years working on the game, from concept art to final implementation. The team’s efforts paid off, as Columbia’s level design and art direction were widely praised.

The team’s approach to creating Columbia was to start with a basic concept and iterate on it until it met their vision. The designers created sketches and 3D models of the city, experimenting with different styles and structures. They drew inspiration from various sources, including the Art Deco style of the early 20th century and the classic Americana of the 1950s.

Once the basic design was in place, the team worked on adding details and creating a cohesive environment. They paid close attention to the city’s history and backstory, fleshing out its inhabitants, politics, and culture. The team also focused on creating a sense of immersion, making sure that players would feel like they were in a real city.

“I was really interested in the contrast between the beauty and grandeur of the city and the darker, more sinister aspects of its history and politics. We wanted to create a place that looked idyllic on the surface but had a lot of depth and complexity underneath.”

– Ken Levine, Creative Director

Bioshock Infinite Images – Action

“I think one of the things that made Columbia so memorable was the attention to detail. We wanted to make sure that every aspect of the city, from the architecture to the signage to the music, felt authentic and cohesive.”

– Shawn Robertson, Lead Level Designer

Columbia is a truly unforgettable location that played a crucial role in the success of Bioshock Infinite. Its creation was a labor of love, and the team’s attention to detail and dedication to their vision paid off in spades. As players explore the city, they are transported to a world that is both familiar and unfamiliar, beautiful and sinister, a place that will stay with them long after the game is over.

Can you believe that ten years have passed since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and yet it still manages to remain one of the most popular and talked-about video games of all time. With its immersive storyline, captivating gameplay, and stunning visuals, it’s no surprise that GTA V has become a household name among gamers and a record-breaking game.

According to Statista, In February 2023, GTA V sold over 175 million copies worldwide, making it the second-best-selling video game of all time, only behind Minecraft. Despite being released back in 2013, the game continues to receive regular updates and additions. But with GTA 6 now 18 months, I wanted to look at how the latest iteration of the game and how has changed for the latest gen consoles.

Los-Santos-Drug-Wars

The Los Santos Drug Wars

One of the standout features of the new Los Santos Drug Wars update is the addition of the Freakshop, a new social space that allows you to play the new First Dose Story Missions, store and upgrade your new Acid Lab Business, buy and update weapons, as well as various other activities. This update also includes six additional 1-4 player story missions and five new Fooligan tasks that you can unlock through “Dax” after finishing First Dose – Welcome to the Troupe.

The Acid Lab is a new business that players can manage once they complete the First Dose and steal the necessary lab equipment. They can install it in the rear of the new MTL Brickade 6×6 vehicle and unlock access to the Acid Lab business. Players can drive their Acid Lab while in Freemode and can launch source missions to gain supplies that will be turned into Acid products for players to sell. Acid Labs can also be given custom names, which adds a personalized touch to the gameplay.

The Los Santos Drug Wars update also brings eight new vehicles to the game, including the Mobile Acid Lab, Overflod Entity MT, muscle cars such as the Declasse Tulip M-100 and the Declasse Tahoma, Vans such as the Zirconium Journey II and BF Surfer Custom as well as the very cool Manchez Scout C Motorcycle. The Overflod Entity also comes with an HSW Upgrade that is only available on consoles.

In addition to the new vehicles (now at a massive 708 different vehicle types), the update includes hundreds of new pieces of male and female clothing and accessories, a new female hairstyle, and 39 unisex tattoos. The update also features several experience improvements, including visual, economy, and creator updates.

As a long-time fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, I have to say that the Los Santos Drug Wars update has been one of my favorites. The addition of the Acid Lab business adds a whole new level of depth to the game, and the new vehicles and customization options allow for even more creative gameplay. I also appreciate the regular updates and attention to detail that Rockstar Games continues to provide, even ten years after the initial release of the game.

Last year, Rockstar Games continued to release regular updates for Grand Theft Auto V, including the introduction of the Stunt Race Creator and the Casino Heist update. The Stunt Race Creator allows players to create and share custom stunt races, adding even more creativity and customization to the game. The Casino Heist update adds a new heist for players to complete, as well as several new vehicles, weapons, and customization options.

Grand Theft Auto V – Premium Edition | The Next Gen Facelift

Grand Theft Auto V – Premium Edition came with the promise of hardware-accelerated ray tracing features that were too good to ignore, and I couldn’t wait to experience the game’s third generation of gaming hardware. With the new features added, I was curious about what the new version offers over existing versions of the game.

Improved User Experience

From the initial load the game jumps straight into the introductory videos and from there into the 60fps menus. The full frame-rate menus might not sound like a big deal, but they’re running at 30fps on last-gen consoles and even the PC version. Moving from the menu to the story mode takes around 20 seconds – far faster than previously when the same process takes two minutes and eight seconds.

Rendering Modes

Three rendering modes are on offer: fidelity at 4K30, performance at 1440p60, and performance RT, also at 1440p60. These high frame-rate modes are a huge improvement over the previous gen versions that were capped at 30fps instead. Whilst the older GTA V did suffer from a high input lag, the updated frame rate helps to fix this legacy issue.

Improved Image Processing

In the last generation of the game, motion blur was limited to camera-based effects with occasional per-object blur used in first-person mode. However, the newer version of the game now features per-object motion blur that is applied throughout the game. The effect is subtle at 60fps, but definitely more noticeable when playing in the 30fps fidelity mode, which massively improves the overall look of the game when compared to the last-gen version running at the same frame rate.

Along with improved motion blur, the new version of the game also features enhancements in image quality. When the game was released, it ran at about 1080p and used a basic FXAA-like post-process anti-aliasing effect that was common at the time. However, this then resulted in shimmering, dithering, and other stability issues. The updated versions of the game now include a temporal anti-aliasing solution that is more in line with today’s technology stack, similar to what was used in Red Dead 2. This has significantly reduced shimmering, dithering, and noise to the point where, in some ways, GTA5 at 1440p on consoles looks better than on a PC with native 4K resolution.

Ray Tracing

Of the two performance offerings, the ray tracing mode is an absolute must. Ray tracing is now used on all the shadows, and more specifically shadows cast by the sun. You may only notice it when it’s pointed out but the Ray tracing shadows significantly reduce graphical issues and mimics the properties of shadows in real life are more accurately. The ray-traced shadows also have this lovely softening so when the shadow the further an object, the more diffuse the effect.

Grand Theft Auto V is a high point in gaming history and its longevity is testament to its high quality. Its open-world design, engaging story, and plethora of activities have kept players (including me) coming back for more over the past ten years. The addition of Grand Theft Auto Online, with its constant updates and expansions, has only further cemented the game’s status as a cultural phenomenon.

Grand Theft Auto V – Premium Edition offers improved graphics, image processing, and user experience compared to the last-gen console version. The game’s higher frame-rate modes, image quality improvements, and ray tracing features make the game a whole new experience.

Looking back on the past ten years of Grand Theft Auto V, it’s clear that the game has had a significant impact on the video game industry and popular culture as a whole. Its legacy is sure to endure for many years to come, and even when GTA 6 is released, it will have big shoes to fill as it’s predecessor made history and earned a place in the record books.

The post-apocalyptic world of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro books has captured the imaginations of readers and gamers alike. The three Metro games, Metro 2033 (2010), Metro: Last Light (2013), and Metro Exodus (2019), have recreated the broken beauty of this world with stunning imagery and scenes that transport players into the heart of the Metro.

Metro 2033 Images and Screenshots

The setting of the Metro series is a decaying version of Moscow, where people are forced to live in the underground Metro tunnels following a catastrophic nuclear war. The world above has become uninhabitable due to radiation, forcing survivors to create a new world in the dark and dangerous tunnels below. It’s a world of darkness, danger, and desperation where humanity is struggling to survive against a range of threats.

Metro Last Light Images and Screenshots

The imagery in the Metro games is stunningly realistic and evocative, capturing the haunting beauty of this post-apocalyptic world. The environment is rendered with incredible detail, from the grime and rust on the walls to the flickering of candles and torches in the dark. The art team has done an excellent job of creating an atmosphere that is both gritty and realistic while still being strangely beautiful.

Metro Exodust Images and Screenshots

One of the most memorable scenes in the Metro games is the moment when players first step out of the tunnels into the wasteland above. The world outside is barren and lifeless, with twisted metal and rubble everywhere. The sky is a sickly shade of yellow, and the air is thick with radiation. It’s a stunning moment that captures the horror and desolation of this world.

The Metro games are also filled with smaller moments of beauty and wonder that add to the overall atmosphere. Whether it’s the quiet moments of contemplation in the tunnels, the glow of a sunset through a cracked window, or the sound of a choir singing in a distant station, the games are full of moments that make players pause and take in the beauty of this broken world.

Overall, the Metro series is a testament to the power of great world-building in video games. By creating a detailed, immersive setting, the games transport players into a world that is both terrifying and strangely beautiful. The Metro games are an excellent example of how video games can be a powerful medium for storytelling and world-building, and a must-play for anyone who loves immersive, atmospheric games.

Wipeout was the must-have game on the original PS1. The speed, the music, and the graphics all blew our minds. This classic game has been a fan favourite for decades, but what if you’ve played XL, Omega, and Fusion to death and need something new? Fear not, because we’ve compiled a list of brilliant Wipeout alternatives that will satisfy your need for speed and thrills.

Pacer

This game is a spiritual successor to Wipeout, featuring anti-gravity ships and insane speeds. The game features both online and offline modes, so you can race against your friends or go solo.

Flashout 3

Flashout 3 is a great anti-gravity racing title for a low price point. It might not be groundbreaking, but it provides plenty of hours of enjoyment. The game supports split-screen co-op, has plenty of tracks, vehicles and weapons and the difficulty levels mean plenty of challenge.

Redout 2

This game takes the anti-gravity racing concept and adds some twists to it. With a focus on physics and high-speed racing, Redout will challenge even the most skilled racers.

Formula Fusion

This game is from the creators of Wipeout itself! Featuring sleek and futuristic ships, Formula Fusion brings a new level of intensity to the genre.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers is a fantastic racer that looks like the love child between Borderlands and Wipeout. Trailblazers introduces a new painting into the world of racing and the cool indie tunes make this well worth trying, however, the longevity depends on the multiplayer aspect and a growing player base.

BallisticNG

Inspired by the classic Wipeout games, BallisticNG features retro graphics and a unique style that sets it apart from other racing games. The game features online and offline multiplayer modes, as well as a variety of ships and tracks.

Fast RMX

This game is a fast-paced racing game that takes place on futuristic tracks. With intense speeds and challenging tracks, Fast RMX will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Radial-G: Racing Revolved

This game takes the anti-gravity racing concept to a new level, with tracks that twist and turn in ways that will leave you dizzy. The game also features a unique “barrel roll” mechanic that adds an extra layer of challenge.

Antigraviator

Antigraviator is a futuristic racing game with a unique twist on the genre. Players can activate environmental traps inspired by Split/Second to take out rivals, but only one racer can trigger a trap in each race. The game offers no speed limit for ships, allowing players to reach mind-blowing speeds on well-designed tracks. With tight controls and a low price, Antigraviator is recommended for fans of futuristic racing games.

So there you have it, various Wipeout alternatives that will scratch that racing itch. Which one is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below!

We hope this list has given you some new games to check out and enjoy. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Wipeout or just looking for something new, these six games are sure to deliver. So why not give them a try and see which one becomes your new favourite?

Lore and estimated release

Now that the Sumeru Archon Quests have wrapped up, players have their sights on the following location on their journey, Fontaine. While there isn’t any official announcement about the nation, we can infer and speculate about a few things revealed in-game. As of the time of writing, we can’t use Genshin Impact accounts to explore the place yet, so these are subject to change.

When is It Going Live?

According to past patterns, HYV will release Fontaine when the 3.x patches are done. That means Fontaine will open for players when the game reaches 4.0.

The first series ended in 1.6 after the first Midsummer Event. The second one ended in version 2.8, also on a summer event (Summer Fantasia).

Since there’s a yearly pattern, we can predict that version 4.0 will come in June or July 2023. That will come after an estimated 3.8 release if the schedule has reverted to the 6-week cycle. To tide you over the long wait, here’s everything we know about the nation.

NPCs

Things NPCs Told Us

#1 The Nation has an Energy Crisis

Many Fontaine researchers have traveled to other nations to figure out how to avert this. Travelers have met Patrice (Vibro-Crystal Research) and Bertrand (Core of the Apparatus). The former researched Vibro-Crystals to try and use the energy generated as power. Bertrand attempted to do so with his One-of-a-Kind, Never-Failing, Engineer-Grade, Second-Generation Furnace-Powered Machine.

Many players theorize that the finite energy source in Fontaine is the primary cause of their advanced technology. (A question, though: if Sumeru’s technologically advanced ruins are considered ancient, is Fontaine behind or beyond its time?) Gadgets like the Kamera, Xavier’s ‘Film’ Kamera, and the Evermotion Painting originate from there. If it’s running out, what does it spell for the nation?

#2 It is a Hub of Culture and Arts

In contrast to Sumeru (which leaned toward the academe and had shunned the arts for a long time), Fontaine is considered the capital of artistic endeavors. The Steambird is a Teyvat-wide paper from the nation and has writers worldwide. Mona is a part of it as a columnist, so it follows that the paper’s contributors don’t necessarily come from Fontaine either.

There’s also the Fontaine Flyers, a traveling circus from the mentioned nation. Their existence is mentioned in one of Port Ormos’ bulletin boards and could be the characters featured in the Travail trailer’s origin. Curiously, from one of the comments, they don’t perform their shows in Fontaine. Xavier’s films count, and Rock n’ Roll originated from there.

#3 It is to the Northwest of Liyue, bordered by Qiaoying Village

Qiaoying Village is mentioned to have the best tea in Liyue. Natives of the nation of Geo note that part of it is its proximity to Fontaine. The latter is supposed to be where the purest of waters come from. The village is said to be northwest of Liyue, in a still unavailable area to players.

However, the advanced industrialization brought pollution problems, which Santon, a Fontaine hunter in Sumeru, mentions. The first time you talk to him, he relishes the forest’s fresh air, which contrasts sharply with his nation’s toxic fumes.

#4 It Has a Ridiculously Complicated Justice System

Yanfei, Liyue’s affable and most competent law consultant, says in one of her voice lines that the nation’s legal system is notoriously complicated. Patrice also says that it is rather strict and, as a whole, implies the segregation of citizens. Not so much in terms of caste but on whether they are guilty.

Plus, they almost follow it to the letter. Researchers get the brunt of it, as negative results (the experiment did not prove the hypothesis) are treated as a failure and a waste. In authentic academic pursuits, this isn’t a failure but a confirmation of what a phenomenon is not. The researchers still learn something, so it isn’t treated as a failure.

#5 All Lochfolk Come From Fontaine

Lochfolks are elemental creatures, like slimes or hydro mimics, but they develop an identity and ego. Most players would recognize them as Oceanids.

According to Endora, they were servants of the former Hydro Archon, spread across the world to spy for their master. When the former got replaced, they rebelled against the God of Justice and went on self-imposed exile.

They form the water’s essence, and their state of mind can affect nearby water forms. During the event Wishful Drops, Rhodeia of Loch (better known as the Oceanid boss) hated Endora enough to turn the waters around her bitter. Unfortunately, this was also where the Dawn Winery got its water supply, lowering the quality of the products. In contrast, the Spring Fairy of Springvale and Endora can make water pure and sweet.

Endora also mentions that they can join together, an ability some Lochfolk had learned to turn for more malicious purposes. Those ‘assassins’ take over the mind of those they merge with, essentially killing their sense of self. Those who are in self-imposed exile are paranoid about this. They can’t even join with other beings for fear of drowning them.

Perhaps their absence has something to do with the nation’s current problems.

#6 There Might be a Diving Feature in Fontaine

An adventurer in Port Ormos mentions wanting to earn a diving license to prevent a prior mishap from happening to him. Whether or not the Traveler can obtain one is anyone’s guess, but this would be an interesting mechanic to add to Genshin.

Some Facts From Official Announcements or Meta Things

The Chief Justice of Fontaine, Neuvillette

They (as their gender is unspecified) are the ones to introduce Nahida in her official introduction. It implies that they are aware of the latter’s active participation in the situation of Sumeru. A feat to acknowledge since the general population is unaware of it, and most of it is relegated to rumors.

They also seem to hold the Dendro Archon in high regard, compared to their Archon, who is prone to hysterics, according to them.

Their name can be divided into three parts:

  • ‘Neu’ means new
  • ‘Ville’ means a town or city
  • ‘Ette,’ a (generally feminine) term of endearment or diminution

As a whole, it is something like ‘a new small town.’ The wiki notes that if used as a surname, it would be preceded by the nobiliary particle ‘de,’ indicating a village of origin. It might also refer to Christian de Neuvillette, the deuteragonist of Cyrano de Bergerac. That fictional character gets inspiration from real-life Christophe de Champagne, baron de Neuvillette.

Though not much is known about the baron, the play depicts him as fair-faced but dimwitted. With the protagonist’s help, he wins the love of Roxanne, Cyrano’s distant cousin. Unfortunately, he dies during the Siege of Arras.

Inspirations and References

France primarily inspires Fontaine. The center of the arts, the circus’s origin, and the French name seal the deal. However, it may also draw some inspiration from Italy and the UK. The latter is the home of Venice, a city of waterways and the birth country of the mafia, which ties into the justice theme. The UK leans more toward the latter, being the home of the world’s greatest fictional detective.

The nation also heavily references the Bioshock series. Aside from the apparent reference to Frank Fontaine, Ayn Rand’s ‘The Fountainhead’ can be said to inspire both games. The Steambird is a few letters off from the Songbird, Elizabeth’s mechanical bird bodyguard in Infinite. Lyney and Lynette, characters featured in the Fontaine chapter of the Travail trailer, could allude to Chen-Lin, another NPC of Infinite.

Lastly, the first Bioshock game happened in Rapture, an underwater city. Fontaine is the nation of Hydro. If the diving feature comes to fruition, would a similar submerged town be in Genshin Impact?

A Long Wait Ahead

Still, these are speculations. The above could shift and change when more information comes from official channels. Even the estimated release date could be wrong! There are more versions of Sumeru and some Interlude Archon Quests to experience. Though Genshin trading for items isn’t possible, exchanging theories and speculation is open. What’s your favorite theory/headcanon for Fontaine?

Learn how to defeat a zombie dragon!

Vorkath is the penultimate boss of the Dragon Slayer II quest. According to the dragonkin language, his name translates to runt, weakling, or pathetic failure. Still, despite his name, he can be deadly as a boss, so it can be challenging for some to get OSRS gold out of him. Here are the best ways to defeat him and get that sweet loot.

Encountering Vorkath

As mentioned, he is like an appetizer to the final boss of the Dragon Slayer II quest. Though his creator discarded him as a failure and non-aggressive, an unprepared player can fall to his dragonfire. He was left in Ungael because of non-aggressiveness and to serve as a distraction to whoever would invade it.

The first time you encounter him, he’ll be a bit weak and easier to defeat. Afterward, he’ll have increased stats if you seek him out again.

OSRS Vorkath Battle Strategies

Vorkath has several abilities he uses in battle. Depending on your distance from him, he can use Magic, Ranged, or Melee. Like all dragons, he has dragonfire, but like the King Black Dragon, he has three types:

  • Normal
  • Venom (chance for venom status)
  • Pink (dispels prayers on impact)

He also has a high-damage version of dragonfire, one that launches vertically. You must avoid getting hit by this attack as it can one-hit KO players. It can even damage you if you’re adjacent to its landing point.

For every seventh attack, he’ll use one of two Special ones. One would be an Acid Pool Quickfire Barrage. Vorkath launches acid, leaving pools scattered across the arena, then a barrage of 25 dragonfire projectiles follows. Standing in an acid pool would heal the dragon for the same amount of damage (up to 10 points). The projectiles would deal 25-41 damage per hit.

The other would be Zombified Ice Dragonfire. Vorkath spews ice dragonfire that freezes you and applies Ice Barrage. It simultaneously summons a zombie thrall, rendering the dragon immune to damage until the minion is killed. The zombie approaches the frozen player. It explodes if allowed, dealing up to 60 damage depending on how much HP it has. Its death or explosion lifts the dragon’s immunity and the Ice Barrage status.

Vorkath alternates the use of his Special Attacks. If he uses one, you can expect he’ll use the other next time. His attack pattern would be 6 random regular attacks, then a Special, followed by 6 more normal ones and the other Special. It would repeat until you defeat him or you die. If you’re keeping count, it can be easy to predict what he will do next.

All his attacks can hit for at least 30 points, and he has high enough accuracy to hit frequently with Melee. For this reason, many guides recommend going Ranged or Magic to defeat him. It would be best if you were always prepared to click two tiles away to avoid his one-shot sure-kill dragonfire attack.

On the topic of running, it depends on your preference. Whether you want to toggle running or walking on the fly or manage dodging by just walking, it’s up to you. Go with what’s more comfortable for you.

Your optimal Protection Prayer depends on your combat style and what you’re wearing. Protect from Magic is when you’re going Melee, using a Toxic Blowpipe/Book of Law with a Super Antifire potion. Use Protect from Missiles when using a crossbow with a Dragonfire Ward, Dragonfire Shield, or Anti-Dragon Shield.

Countering the Special Attacks

While the normal ones are easy to deal with, these deserve emphasis because they’re deadly and being unprepared is fatal.

There are two ways to deal with the Acid Pool attack. One way guarantees your safety, while the other is riskier but lets you attack. The first method requires you to find at least 5 clean tiles in a line to walk on. Then, you go back and forth, dodging the barrage. There’s usually a clean spot near the exit, but you can mess up the timing and have a pool land nearby.

The other method is the ‘Woox Walk,’ a technique that lets you dodge the barrage and still attack Vorkath. This is challenging to do and will award you an achievement, ‘The Walk.’ Its mechanics require tick-perfect clicking to stay in range and get a hit in, all while moving to avoid the projectiles. This works for both Ranged and Melee attacks.

Remember to reactivate prayers and toggle run (if preferred) afterward.

As for the Zombified Ice Dragonfire, you should queue up a Crumble Undead spell and carefully click the zombie spawn. Be accurate in targeting the spawn because the alternative is getting hurt. There may not be enough time to prepare another spell. Make sure your one chance counts.

Ensure you’re not still attacking Vorkath when this attack starts. Otherwise, it will result in a delay in the casting, wasting precious time. Crumble Undead is preferred because it will kill the spawn with one shot if your Magic bonus isn’t at -64 and lower.

Equipment

There are many styles and combat strategies you can use, but only a few effective weapons and armor you can bring.

Ranged (crossbow) Ranged (blowpipe) Melee
Head Void Ranger Helm Masori Mask (f) Torva Full Helm
Chest Elite Void/Void Knight Masori Body (f) Torva Platebody
Hands Void Knight Zaryte Vambraces Ferocious Gloves
Legs Elite Void/Void Knight Masori Chaps (f) Torva Platelegs
Shoes Pegasian Boots Ranger Boots Primordial Boots
Cape Ava’s Assembler Ava’s Assembler Infernal Cape
Weapon Dragon Hunter Crossbow Toxic Blowpipe (Amethyst Darts or better) (Special Attack: Bandos Godsword) Dragon Hunter Lance (Special Attack: Dragon Claws)
Off-Hand Dragonfire Ward N/A Avernic Defender
Ammunition Ruby Dragon Bolts (e) and Diamond Dragon Bolts (e) Rada’s Blessing 4 Rada’s Blessing 4
Necklace Salve Amulet(ei) Salve Amulet(ei) Salve Amulet(ei)
Ring Archer’s Ring Ring of Suffering Berserker Ring (i)

Blowpipe users can also use Void equipment with less efficiency. Similarly, Crossbow users can use Masori equipment with the same effects. The first two equipment sets can switch around some parts and still be viable for this fight.

The blowpipe recommendations are for those who can’t afford the Dragon Crossbow, which explains the overlap between the two.

Inventory

In general, you should have at least one Antifire potion if you’re not using any of the dragonfire shields. The rest of your inventory should be filled with HP regen food, such as Sharks. You should also have your alternate ammunition and Special Attack weapon when applicable. A Rune Pouch with the runes to cast Crumble Undead is necessary for the Zombified Ice Dragonfire attack.

Vorkath Loot

Vorkath will always drop Superior Dragon Bones and Blue Dragonhide. Depending on the current market climate, you can sell those valuable materials on the GE for (depending on the current market climate) 21k and 3k OSRS gold. Other notable drops are weapons such as the Rune Longsword, Rune Kiteshield, and even the Battlestaff.

You can also get the chance for dragon loot (Dragon Battleaxe, Dragon Longsword, Dragon Platelegs, Dragon Plateskirt). You can use them yourself or put those OSRS items for sale on the GE. They’re pretty valuable, after all.

Runes and other kinds of dragonhide can be looted from his corpse. Vorkath can drop Black Dragonhide, which is the most expensive of all. He can also drop various Fletching materials, such as bolt tips and unfinished Dragon Bolts.

Although rare, Vorkath also drops seeds, the most expensive of which are Dragonfruit Tree Seeds, Celastrus Seeds, and Magic Seeds. In addition to those, you can get coins, Manta Rays, Dragon Bones, Diamonds, and Dragonstones.

Achievements

By performing various actions, you can get achievements while battling Vorkath.

  • Zombie Destroyer – Kill the zombie spawn without using Crumble Undead.
  • Stick ’em With the Pointy End – Defeat Vorkath using melee weapons only.
  • Vorkath Veteran – Win 50 battles against him.
  • Vorkath Speed-Chaser – Win an encounter within 1 minute and 15 seconds.
  • Vorkath Master – Defeat him 100 times.
  • The Walk – Hit the boss 12 times during his Acid Pool attack without getting hit.
  • Dodging the Dragon – Kill Vorkath 5 times without getting damaged by his special attacks and/or leaving the arena.
  • Extended Encounter – Win 10 times without leaving the arena.
  • The Fremennik Way – Defeat the boss using only fists.
  • Vorkath Speed-Runner – Kill him within 54 seconds.
  • Faithless Encounter – Win without losing any Prayer Points.

Have Fun While Bossing!

While defeating bosses can be hard work, you can find things to enjoy about it, such as: succeeding in the Woox Walk or just a job well done defeating Vorkath.

Hey there fellow Robloxians! Are you ready to become the next fashion icon in the virtual world of Roblox? If you’re looking to make your own custom shirts, you’ve come to the right place! In this guide, we’ll show you how to make Roblox shirts step-by-step, and in no time, you’ll be creating the most stylish and unique designs on the platform!

How to Make Roblox Shirts

Step 1: Get the Tools You Need

The first step to making your own shirts is to make sure you have the right tools. You’ll need to have a Roblox account, and if you don’t already have one, you can create one for free on the official Roblox website.

Step 2: Choose Your Design

Now that you have your tools ready, it’s time to choose your design. You can use any image editing software you like to create your design. Some popular options include Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or even just Microsoft Paint. The important thing is to make sure the design you choose is in a .png format.

Step 3: Upload Your Design

Once you’ve created your design, it’s time to upload it to Roblox. To do this, log in to your account and go to the “Create” section. Download Roblox Studio and open it. From there, click on the “Shirts” tab and select “Create a Shirt.” Click Choose File and select your file to upload.

Step 4: Position Your Design

Now that your design is uploaded, it’s time to position it on the shirt. You can use the tools in the “Create” section to move, resize, and rotate your design until it’s just right. Don’t forget to check out the different shirt colors and see how your design looks on each one!

Step 5: Name Your Shirt

Once your shirt is positioned just how you like it, it’s time to give it a name. You can name it anything you like, but make sure it’s descriptive and catchy so people will want to buy it. When it comes to setting the price, think about how much time and effort you put into creating the design, and set a price that you feel is fair.

Step 6: Publish Your Shirt

The final step is to publish your shirt. To do this, simply click the “Publish” button in the “Create” section. Click the Upload for 10 Robux button. Once approved by Roblox, the item will show up as one of your creations and can be applied to your avatar.

Congratulations, you’ve now created your own custom Roblox shirt!

In conclusion, creating a custom shirt on Roblox is a fun and easy process. Just follow these simple steps and let your imagination run wild! Who knows, you might even become the next big fashion designer in the Roblox world!

VALORANT ranks

The Valorant Ranking System

The ranking system in Valorant is based on a player’s performance in competitive games. Players start at the lowest rank, Iron, and can work their way up to Challenger by winning games and performing well. There are a total of 8 ranks in Valorant, each with 3 levels within them.

The Valorant ranks are:

  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Immortal

Each rank represents a player’s skill level and is determined by their performance in competitive matches. The higher the rank, the better the player’s skill level is considered to be. Players can progress through the ranks by winning matches and earning points, and can also be demoted if they perform poorly. The ranking system is designed to provide a fair and competitive environment for players to test their skills against others.

Progressing Through the Ranks in Valorant

Once you are hooked, you’ll want to progress through the ranks quicker. While many players invest time and effort to climb the ladder, some opt to buy a valorant account online to get a head start. For those who prefer the traditional grind, I have added a few tips below to get you started.

Practice and improve your aim

Good aim is one of the most important skills in Valorant. Dedicate time to practicing your aim in the game’s practice range or in custom games.

Study the game and learn the maps

Understanding the maps and how to play on them is crucial to success in Valorant. Take time to study each map and learn the best angles, callouts, and strategies.

Communicate with your team

Communication is key in Valorant. Make sure you’re communicating with your team effectively to coordinate tactics, call out enemy positions, and give support.

Be versatile

Learn multiple agents and be comfortable playing different roles. This will make you a valuable asset to your team and give you the flexibility to adapt to different situations.

Stay positive and avoid tilt

Tilt, or playing badly due to frustration, can be a major roadblock to progression. Try to stay positive and avoid getting too upset when things don’t go your way.

Watch professional players and learn from them

Watching professional players and how they play can be a great way to learn new tactics and strategies. Take notes and try to implement what you’ve learned into your own gameplay.

Play regularly

The more you play, the better you will get. Make sure to play regularly and dedicate time to improving your skills.

Remember that progress takes time and effort, so be patient and don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Keep practicing, stay positive, and you will get better over time.

VALORANT gameplay

Essential Valorant Tips

Communication REALLY is key

Good communication with your team is crucial in Valorant. Discussing tactics and calling out enemy positions can give you a significant advantage. A simple way to communicate with your team is by using the in-game ping system to mark positions, callouts, and objectives. For example, if you see an enemy player, you can ping their location for your teammates to be aware of.

Utilize your abilities

Each agent in Valorant has unique abilities that can be used to gain an advantage over your opponents. Make sure to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your chosen agent and use their abilities effectively. For example, Breach’s Flashpoint ability allows him to flash multiple players at once, making it an excellent tool for pushing into enemy territory.

Map knowledge

Valorant features a variety of maps, each with their own callouts, angles, and unique locations. Learning the maps and understanding the most common angles and positions will greatly improve your performance. Familiarize yourself with the most popular maps such as Bind, Haven, and Ascent, as these are played the most often in competitive play.

Stay alert

Always be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for enemy positions. Pay attention to the mini-map and listen for footsteps, gunfire, and other audio cues. For example, if you hear footsteps coming from a certain direction, be prepared for an enemy attack.

Practice makes perfect

Valorant is a fast-paced game that requires quick reflexes and good aim. Practicing your aim and game sense will greatly improve your performance. Try playing deathmatch and other game modes to sharpen your skills, or watch professional players to learn new strategies.

Playing Valorant Competitively

To play Valorant competitively, players need to have good aim, game sense, and teamwork. Playing with a consistent group of players is also helpful as communication and coordination are crucial in Valorant. Additionally, studying the game and learning strategies can give players an edge over their opponents.

Valorant Maps:

  • Bind
  • Haven
  • Ascent
  • Split
  • Icebox

Popular Valorant Maps:

  • Bind
  • Haven
  • Ascent

Known Issues with Certain Maps:

Split: Split has been criticized for having a poor design that can be exploited by players. This can lead to unfair advantages and may need to be reworked in the future.

Icebox: Icebox has been criticized for being too large and having too many flanking routes, making it difficult for defenders to hold their ground. Some players believe that the map needs to be reworked or removed from competitive play.

Valorant is a challenging but rewarding game that requires teamwork, skill, and strategy to succeed. Whether you’re a casual player or looking to play competitively, Valorant is a game that has something for everyone. So grab your team and get ready for some high-stakes, fast-paced action!

[UPDATED] Minecraft is one of the most popular video games of all time, with millions of players around the world creating and exploring their own unique worlds. But for those who want to take their Minecraft experience to the next level, there’s Minecraft Realms – a subscription service that offers a wide range of benefits to players. But is it worth the investment? I have been subscribed since the world went into lockdown and wanted to share my experience.

What is Minecraft Realms?

First, let’s talk about what Minecraft Realms is. Minecraft Realms is a subscription service that allows players to create their own private servers for Minecraft. This means that you can invite your friends to play with you on your own server, without having to worry about other players intruding. This is by far the main reason people get a subscription. Players can create a persistent Minecraft world that exists even if they are not in it. Friends can drop in and out building, destroying, or role-playing. Realms also offer additional features such as automatic backups for peace of mind.

Some might find the 10-player limit a problem but my children never maxed out as different friends played together at different times.

Whilst one of the biggest benefits of Minecraft Realms is the ability to play with friends, it can also cause some upset. If one friend decides to go in and dynamite all your hard work, this can cause an issue so regular offline saves are advised.

Minecraft Realms also offers a wide range of free texture packs, which can be used to give your world a unique look. These packs are available to all subscribers and can be used to create everything from a medieval castle to a futuristic city.

The cost of Minecraft Realms varies depending on the subscription you choose. A monthly subscription in the UK costs £7.99 and in the US is $7.99, while a three-month subscription costs £22.99 / $22.99. This can be considered as a reasonable price, especially when compared to the cost of buying texture packs separately. Buying texture packs separately can cost between £2 and £5.

What’s the Catch

Minecraft Realms won’t be for everyone and there are a handful of reasons why this might be the case. Firstly, Realms can uninvite inactive players meaning players will need to re-invite players after a while. Realms are also more expensive than other hosting servers. However, this is mainly for PC players and you will need some technical know-how to set it up. The official Minecraft Realms servers are still not moddable which is an instant no for those involved in the Minecraft modding community.

  • Horror House

  • Tiny Footprints Texture Pack
  • Pet Pack
  • BOO!

So for me and my family (and my children’s friends), Minecraft Realms was a great investment. The ability to have my children play with their friends, easily switch between game modes and access various free worlds and texture packs make it a great value for the price. It’s also a great way to make sure your world is always safe and accessible, with automatic backups. If you or a family member is an avid Minecraft player, Minecraft Realms is definitely worth considering.

Are you a parent looking to understand more about the popular free-to-play game Warframe? Look no further! Here is a guide to help you understand the game and its suitability for your child.

What is Warframe?

Warframe is a cooperative action role-playing and third-person shooter game developed by Digital Extremes. In the game, players control members of the Tenno, a race of ancient warriors who have awoken from centuries of cryo-sleep to find themselves at war with several factions. Players can customize their Tenno’s Warframes (battlesuits) and weapons and complete missions to unlock new gear and abilities.

Warframe-gameplay

Is Warframe Suitable For Children?

Warframe has a rating of “M” for Mature, meaning it is intended for audiences aged 17 and older. However, because the game is free to download and play, it is possible for younger players to access it. It is important for parents to be aware of this and to monitor their child’s gameplay if they do choose to play Warframe.

In terms of gameplay, Warframe is fast-paced and involves shooting, fighting, and using abilities to complete missions. Players can choose to play solo or with friends in co-op mode, and there is a variety of mission types, including story-driven quests and player-vs-player combat.

What is the Warframe Community Like?

The Warframe community is known for being helpful and welcoming, and there are many resources available for players, such as forums, Discord servers, and in-game clans. However, like any online community, it is important for players to be aware of online safety and to report any inappropriate behavior.

Does Warframe Have In-Game Purchases?

Warframe has an in-game currency called Platinum, which can be used to purchase new Warframes, weapons, and other items. Platinum can be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money. It is important for parents to be aware of this in-game currency and to set appropriate limits on their child’s spending.

In terms of suitability, Warframe is recommended for players aged 13 and up due to the intense violence and mild language. It is important for parents to consider their child’s maturity level and their own comfort with the game’s content when deciding if Warframe is appropriate for their child.

Warframe is a popular and enjoyable game that offers a variety of gameplay options and a welcoming community. However, it is important for parents to be aware of the game’s age rating and to monitor their child’s gameplay and in-game spending.

Warframe-gameplay

How to Start Playing?

Warframe, in particular, can seem intimidating and overwhelming for new players. With a vast array of gameplay mechanics and endless possibilities, it can be hard to know where to start. By playing the game yourself you can understand the appeal and try to connect with your child with Warframe, instead of a straightforward ban.

To help guide you and your child through the early stages of Warframe, we’ve put together a beginner’s guide to Warframe to help you get started.

First Things First: The Star Chart

The Star Chart is the central hub for accessing missions in Warframe. It displays the different planets and celestial bodies of the Solar System and the tasks and resources available on them. To start, guide your child to the destinations with a glowing blue light. They’ll also need to defeat junction bosses, which can be challenging.

Encourage your child to unlock as many locations as possible, as this will give them access to resources that will aid them in crafting new weapons and Warframes.

Building Mastery: Items and Equipment

Mastery Rank (MR) is the primary progression system in Warframe. The higher it is, the more weapons and features become available to your child. To increase MR, your child can:

  • Build new weapons and use them in combat. Each mastery level earned grants 100 points, and by reaching level 30, your child will have earned 3000 MR points.
  • Defeat junction bosses, which will give them 1000 MR points.
  • Craft and level up new Warframes and companions.
  • Purchase blueprints from the market.

Blueprints are the plans for various in-game items like weapons, warframes, and equipment. Your child can earn them by purchasing them on the market console on their ship, defeating certain enemies and bosses, or, if they’re part of a clan, through replicating a researched technology from the Clan Dojo. These blueprints will help guide your child in deciding which items and frames to focus on, and in turn, shape their playstyle and progression.

Mod Management: Equipping and Upgrading

Mods are items that add various effects to your child’s weapons, warframes, and equipment to make them stronger. For example, certain mods can add a frost attack to a melee weapon, while others can increase damage. Encourage your child to learn how to combine and upgrade mods at the Mod Station in their ship. Fusing mods will make their effects more substantial, and they might even unlock new ones, like using cold and electricity damage to deal devastating damage to enemy shields.

Money Management: Platinum and Loot

Platinum is Warframe’s premium currency, and all players receive a free 50 upon starting. While it may be tempting to spend it right away, it’s best to save it and earn more through direct purchase or trading loot with other players.

Encourage your child to loot everything they can when on missions. Breaking down storage pods and harvesting any materials they come across may seem tedious, but it will help lessen the grind later on and make crafting items easier.

The Codex: A Guide on Your Child’s Ship

If your child needs help, encourage them to use the in-game Warframe Codex, which can be accessed on their ship. The Codex provides information about the world of Warframe, including where to harvest crafting materials, the various weapon types and much more. It’s a great tool for new players to learn more about the game and its mechanics.

Warframe can be a daunting game to start, but with a bit of guidance and persistence, your child will soon become familiar with the game’s mechanics and start to enjoy the endless possibilities.

Dragon Quest Treasures is the latest entry in the Dragon Quest series released in 2022. It was published by Square Enix and is currently only available on the Nintendo Switch. The plot follows Erik and Mia, and their companions Purrsula and Porcus, as they search for the seven mythical Dragonstones on the floating continent of Draconia.

It is a standalone game that does not require any previous knowledge of the Dragon Quest series, making it perfect for newcomers. However, fans of the series will appreciate the references to past games throughout the adventure.

And if you’re excited to try out this game then read on for our review of Dragon Quest Treasures.

Dragon-Quest-Treasures

Gameplay

The Dragon Quest series has been at the forefront of JRPGs for over 35 years and its latest addition, Treasures, is a spin-off from the mainline games. Featuring plenty of nostalgic elements that many will recognize, this entry still manages to be one of the most simplistic JRPG experiences available.

It is obviously geared more towards younger players and those new to the franchise and genre than veterans who may find its lack of challenge disappointing. At the heart of the story are Erik and Mia, who appeared in Dragon Quest XI; here they have taken on a more child-friendly appearance to fit in with the lighter tone of their treasure-hunting adventure.

Erik and Mia’s aim is to obtain rare treasures, and rewards come with them. In addition, taming new creatures is a vital part of the game. It involves scouting them after any random battle and paying their fee; each one asks for different items or gold. After these steps have been fulfilled, they accompany the siblings on their quest for riches.

Through the Fortune Finder skill, the siblings can take advantage of their monster allies’ view and find loot scattered around Draconia. Each species has a distinct vision – for example, a restless armor may be hindered by its visor.

As to the combat, it takes an action-based approach, wherein Erik or Mia can attack with their equipped weapon, while the monsters that are part of the team will automatically fight against any enemies and rival treasure hunters that may appear on the field.

The gameplay is straightforward and easy to pick up, but there are some interesting mechanics that make it more unique than your average RPG. This makes Dragon Quest Treasures a great option with some fun additions, perfect for players who enjoy progressive jackpots or strategy games with an extra edge. So, whether you’re a lover of the genre, or if you’re just looking for a fun game to play, check it out.

Graphics and Sound

Dragon Quest Treasures features a beautiful design that looks great both when played on the handheld console and when ported to the big screen. It is clear that the Nintendo Switch’s capabilities are put to good use, making the world of Dragon Quest come to life, with impressive visuals along with colorful characters and environments.

The game’s audio is also top-notch, with a catchy soundtrack and sound effects that add to the immersion. Overall, Dragon Quest Treasures is shaping up to be one of the best-looking and sounding RPGs available on the Switch and is definitely worth picking up.

Dragon-Quest-Treasures

The Good and The Bad

There’s a lot to like about Dragon Quest Treasures. Especially, if you’re a young player looking for an introduction to the world of role-playing games or just something laid-back to pass the time with, then this entry will not disappoint.

The game is stripped down to its basics, however, it contains all the charming characters and monsters that have made the series famous. Not only that, it has some fun nods to other titles in the franchise too, providing a distinct treasure-hunting focus.

Despite these positives, this title won’t pose much of a challenge for experienced players. And some may find its kid-friendly focus offputting.

Overall, the Dragon Quest Treasures release on Nintendo Switch was a mixed bag. There were some good things and some bad things about it. It’s still a solid entry in the series, but it doesn’t live up to the high standards set by its predecessors.

Conclusion

Dragon Quest Treasures is an exciting and entertaining title that offers a compelling story, fun characters, great visuals, and plenty of content to enjoy. It is the perfect option for those who are looking for a lighter-paced game that provides something more than just mindless button-mashing.

Whether you’re new to this specific series or have been a fan of classic JRPGs for years, this title should be at the top of your cozy wish list. You’ll find yourself quickly becoming immersed in its wonderful world as you make progress through its rewarding content!

The ’90s was a wash with snowboarding games including Cool Boarders, SSX Tricky, Shawn White Snowboarding and 1080 Snowboarding, but more recently snowboarding games have been coupled with other sports such as skydiving and downhill cycling.

With the recent release of the hyperrealistic Shredders on Xbox and PC, I wanted to take a closer look at the current crop of snowboarding games and see which five are worth playing right now. So let’s start with Shredders.

shredders

Shredders

Shredders is a love letter to snowboarding. Trying to be the Skate to skateboarding games, Shredders goes for a more simulation feel, rather than an arcade trickfest. The graphics look stunning and carving down the open-world mountain feels fantastic. The flick-style controls will take some time to get used with one stick controlling your upper body, and the other controlling your legs. Eventually, these start to feel natural and you will be popping satisfying tricks from the wealth of kickers. The single-player campaign sees you and a cameraman working on a YouTube channel and working through a variety of tricks and scoring quests. The dialogue can sometimes be cringy, but it doesn’t take too long and afterward, you will have mastered most of the tricks. Some frame rate issues and screen tearing break the magic at times and multiplayer is hit-and-miss. Sometimes the world is empty and in need of NPC’s and when riding with friends the clips you create don’t capture your friends in the footage. Overall, it’s a solid snowboarding game that real-world boarders will appreciate as it’s hard work but captures the magic of the sport.

steep-snowboard

Steep

Steep has been a staple in my library for five years now and I still love it. The snow crunching sounds are just lush and whilst the graphics are starting to show their age, they still work really well. There are three mountains to explore and whilst the snowboarding is the most fun, you can dip into skiing and flying for a break. Playing with friends is a must as levels are huge allowing you to ride ahead and capture your friend’s tricks as the jump houses or flip-over kickers. The characters are fully customisable and each rider can show their style on the mountain. There is an in-game currency and plenty of DLC should you want to extend the game even further. A fantastic game that I still enjoy today.

Riders_Republic

Riders Republic

Riders Republic is so much fun, it should be illegal. Riders Repulic is a highly polished game that has an arcade style all its own. The tricks are ridiculous and the speed is intense, but it sometimes forces you to play other sports such as rocket wings when you would rather stay grounded. The 64-person races are so much fun as there are always people to compete with. What you lose in simulation, you make up for in the sheer amount of content. Whether you want to board, bike, ski, drive or just run about, Riders Republic is unadulterated fun with so much to do. With Year 2 now confirmed, we can expect four more seasons with new events, new brand partnerships, and perhaps even the addition of skateboarding.

infinite-air-with-mark-mcmorris

Infinite Air with Mark McMorris

Coming out at the same time as Steep, Infinite Air got a little lost at the time, but over time has grown its own following. The gameplay feels somewhere between arcade and simulation and whilst it works, it would have benefited by picking a camp. Alongside steep, the world looks blander but it’s the world editor that really sets this apart. Infinite Air’s enhanced world editor allows players to create custom parks for complete immersion into the sport of snowboarding. Players can build their ultimate runs with jumps, cliffs, rails, ramps, and countless other items. Once created, you can share the parks with your friends and compete amongst yourselves. Great fun for those that enjoy the building side of snow sports.

grand-mountain-adventure-wonderlands

Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands

When you consider that Grand Mountain Adventure was made by a team of just two developers, you can appreciate the amount of love and attention that went into this game. There are 12 resorts to unlock and explore and the gameplay is calm and relaxing. The unusual element of this snowboarding game is the overhead perspective. The tiny border may be challenging to control at first but once you have the hang of the controls, it’s a fun ride down the mountains. Well-paced progression unlocks ski passes those open new areas and the competition system works well. The camera angle can sometimes get annoying and won’t be for everyone but it gave me a nostalgic feeling of Paperboy, which was great.

So there you have it, five fantastic snowboarding games that you can play right now. Which are your favourite snowboarding games, add them to the comments below.

Roblox is a popular online platform that allows users to create and play games, as well as interact with each other. While it is generally a safe and fun place to be, there are unfortunately some individuals who try to take advantage of other users by scamming them. Here are some common scams to be aware of and how to avoid them:

  1. Phishing scams: These scams involve someone trying to trick you into giving them your personal information, such as your login credentials or credit card details, by pretending to be a legitimate company or service. To avoid these scams, never click on links or enter your personal information in response to suspicious emails or messages.
  2. Game or item scams: Some individuals may try to scam you by offering fake or non-existent games or items in exchange for your Robux (the virtual currency used on Roblox). To avoid these scams, only purchase games or items from trusted sources and be wary of anyone offering unrealistic deals.
  3. Friend request scams: Some scammers may send you a friend request in order to gain access to your account or personal information. To avoid these scams, be cautious about accepting friend requests from people you don’t know, and be sure to set your account privacy settings to private.
  4. Roblox card scams: Some individuals may try to sell you fake Roblox cards or codes in exchange for real money. To avoid these scams, only purchase Roblox cards from trusted retailers and be wary of anyone offering discounted or “free” Roblox cards.

In general, it’s important to be cautious when interacting with others online, especially when it comes to sharing personal information or making purchases. If you ever feel unsure about a situation on Roblox, it’s best to err on the side of caution and avoid engaging with it. You can also report any suspicious activity to Roblox by using the “Report Abuse” feature located on the Roblox website and in the Roblox app.

Sports video games are one of the most prolific genres in the market. And from hyper-realistic graphics to fresh gameplay mechanics, the biggest sports games in 2022 have been a compelling bunch. But what if you were looking for a more managerial approach to your next gaming session? While controlling players on the field and stirring up the crowd is all fun and games, some titles allow you to steer the wheel to put together a team and run it your way. So, here are four sports management sims worth your while in 2022.

motorsport-manager

Motorsport Manager

F1 Manager 2022 arguably stole the show for gamers with a knack for racing games. But when it comes to highly-detailed motorsport management, Playsport Game’s Motorsport Manager might be the superior entry by a long shot. This realistic sim puts players in charge of managing a powerhouse motorsport team.

From hiring the best drivers and mechanics to customising cars to enhance performances, every last detail matters to push your way to the title – or risk failure of epic proportions. Yet tactics don’t take the backseat as you shall carefully plan your races and sometimes make split-second decisions to take the upper hand on the racing track. And on top of an already engrossing base game, several DLCs have significantly expanded upon the experience since its original 2017 release.

teamfight

Teamfight Manager

Esports has been around for years, but it took decades for competition gaming to earn a spot alongside traditional sports. 2023 will be a momentous year in this regard with the postponed Asian Games set to feature the first-ever esports medal event, while bringing esports to the Olympics in a not-so-distant future increasingly appears less of a far-fetched possibility than it once sounded. In the meantime, fans might feel like assembling their own esports squad on-screen.

A meta title, if any, Team Samoyed’s Teamfight Manager is a simulation game about coaching pro gamers all the way to the top. So, handpick the most promising players and grow them into undisputed champions, banning a few of them, if need be, to achieve the best combo. Then, work out the most effective strategy to crush it at every tournament. With an original spin on the genre, this MOBA sim management game is a fun experience through and through.

retro-bowl

Retro Bowl

If you’ve ever felt like tapping into the world of American football, the Madden NFL franchise may be a sure pick. Yet EA’s long-running series might seem slightly overwhelming for those unfamiliar with the intricacies of the National Football League. With its simpler take on American Football, thus, Retro Bowl is a solid alternative for the uninitiated as players only get to control the offensive side.

But the game’s core managerial challenge involves as many options as drafting and trading players, handling press duties, and even boosting morale to lift that coveted Retro Bowl trophy. In the art department, the game’s vintage looks are just as appealing to all retro gamers. And the good news is, this fun-filled management sim is free to play on mobile. An affordable port is also available on Nintendo Switch.

Football-Manager

Football Manager 2023

Football Manager has long set the golden standard for sports management sims. Acting as managers, players can pick the team they’ve supported forever or establish a brand-new club to bring to the top of the table. While in-game options were already exhaustive, from devising tactics to developing facilities, FM 2023 added exciting features like a revamped recruitment system. And the series has amassed a cult following among die-hard fans, tactical analysts, and football stars alike.

FM has even changed the game from within as professional scouts rely on its unparalleled database. SEGA’s flagship sports management title is also a go-to resource for punters. Bettors might thus leverage their FM skills to make bank on the best UK betting sites and similar. Top online sportsbooks offer an array of betting options on worldwide football competitions, including some lesser-known leagues for avid FM players to bet on the next big football wonderkid. In addition, football-specific bonuses and welcome packages are a click away. Dozens of sports also await bettors besides the beautiful game.

Facing fellow players on the pitch is pure entertainment bliss. Yet managing every aspect of a fictional or real-life squad behind-the-scenes can be just as endearing. So, put on that manager costume with the very best sports management entries out there.

The Entropy Centre is a puzzle game inspired by the likes of Half-Life and Portal. The player wakes up in a crumbling science complex with no memory of how they got there. After finding a cute and friendly puzzle gun they must pick up blocks and rewind time in order to make their way through the centre and attempt to save the Earth from annihilation. Developed by Stubby Games and published by Playstack, The Entropy Centre is an unashamed salute to the classics, but does it meet the high standards of its inspiration?

The Entropy Centre Review on Xbox Series X

At first glance, you’d be forgiven to think this game is tied to the Half-Life universe. The graphics and light effects are fantastic as you wander the destroyed corridors and collapsing bridges. Whilst the game is very linear in its direction, you do get the feeling that the Centre is absolutely huge. Armed with the plucky AI gun called Astra, you weave your way through various puzzle rooms rewinding time and moving objects. The voice acting is superb with Chloe Taylor doing a wonderful performance for Aria, the amnesiac puzzle officer and Casey Miracle’s portrayal of the cute and friendly Entropy device is heartwarming. During the first half of the game, the puzzles are relatively simple only taking a few minutes to solve and once you have reversed the solution in your mind, it’s simply a matter of going through the motions. In between puzzles, you work your way through the centre reversing time to stop the building from falling apart, as well as using the falling ruble to access new areas.

The-entropy-centre

A Game of Two Halves

The latter part of the game ramps up the difficulty with transformation fields that change the nature of the blocks and much bigger puzzles with many more steps to complete. This is where the game comes into its own and the 10-hour play time is enough to keep you interested without overstaying its welcome. I would have liked to see more elements being manipulated by the time gun, but understand how difficult it is to use time as a game mechanic. The story is slow to start, but during the second half, it comes to a satisfying conclusion and deals well be causality and time manipulation.

The-entropy-centre

Thanks for Portal 3: Time Portal

Overall, The Entropy Centre is a fun see-saw of a puzzle game that starts easy but gets much more difficult later on. The graphics look great and the voice acting gives the two main characters life and personality. The story becomes more interesting later in the game so patience will be needed to reach its conclusion. Once completed, there is little to go back for and I would have liked to see a level editor to create my own puzzles. The team behind The Entropy Centre has done a fantastic job creating something that would not be out of place in Valve’s universe. Well done!

Licensed games are usually based on movies, tv shows, and toys. Games such as Minecraft, Roblox, or Spyro were games first so they are not included in this list.

To help you choose a game for your children, I have outlined 25 licensed video games for children out on consoles. I have added a list below in no particular order with jump links to each game or ease of use. Let’s get started.

Xbox Kids Games

Addams family- Mansion Mayhem

Addams family: Mansion Mayhem

Addams Family is a simple and fun game for the whole family. With four-player couch co-op and easy-to-defeat enemies, young children will have a blast working through the levels either alone or with the rest of the family. The game won’t feel revolutionary for adults playing together and the levels get a bit samey but it’s easy to pick up and play and kids will enjoy the simplicity.

4/5

Hotel Transylvania- Scary Tale Adventures

Hotel Transylvania: Scary Tale Adventures

In Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tales Adventures, you take control of Drac and Mavis and play through various fairy tale worlds with their own spooky spin. From Little Red Riding Hood to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves each level is easily recognizable but can take up to half an hour to complete. The game is very repetitive but still fun. However, those under 7’s will struggle and the long levels with no save means you have to commit serious time to complete each level.

3/5

Hotel Transylvania 3- Monsters Overboard

Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard

Released alongside the movie, you play Drac and Mavis on a mission to save the other monsters from three desert islands. Using little monster minions called impas, you direct your miniature helpers to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Overall, the game can be fun at times, but the constant struggles with the controls will frustrate many. For those familiar with Nintendo’s Pikmin, this is a substandard clone.

1/5

Spirit- Lucky’s Big Adventure

Spirit: Lucky’s Big Adventure

For fans of the TV show and recent movie, Spirit is a happy-go-lucky adventure in a bright and colourful world. After finding her mother’s treasure map, Lucky rides across the world completing a series of quests to unlock new areas and additional outfits. Riding across the open plains is wonderful, but when you are in more confined spaces, the controls become cumbersome and frustrating. Fans of the show will enjoy it but horse fans may get more fun from Horse Club Adventures.

3/5

Dragons- Dawn of the New Riders

Dragons: Dawn of the New Riders

This game bravely carves its own path by not following any of the movies, instead, tell a new story about a young rider with amnesia and his new dragon Patch. The gameplay is mainly a dungeon crawler with some simple puzzles. During the periodic combat sequences, the battles are clunky and slow and the ranged attacks from Patch are rarely accurate. The new story was a great idea but doesn’t really go anywhere or add to the Dragons canon.

1/5

Ben 10- Power Trip

Ben 10: Power Trip

There have been two Ben 10 games on this generation’s consoles that actually play very differently. The first game sees Ben 10 in a 3D side-scrolling beat em up whereas Ben 10 Power Trip is more of an open-world adventure. Out of the two, I would recommend Ben 10: Power Trip as it plays really well, has a fantastic open world with plenty of side quests and the two-player split screen means a friend or sibling can play as Ben’s frenemy Kevin 11.

5/5

Rabbids- Party of Legends

Rabbids: Party of Legends

Rabbids is a solid Mario party clone with a lot of endearing features. For those not familiar with the party game genre, Rabbids is a game in which 1-4 players compete in various mini-games to earn books and become to ultimate champion. The mini-games are generally longer than those in Mario Party giving players more engagement in each activity. The wheel spin and stealing mechanics for players in last place help keep the playing field level and additional games and Rabbids are unlocked through player progression. It’s really fun with friends in couch co-op but the single-player experience is a little limited.

3/5

Blaze and the Monster Machines

Blaze and the Monster Machines

With its big chunky cartoon graphics and wealth of character voices, Blaze and the Moster Machines is a great introductory game to the world of video game racing. The auto drive feature means it is great for children under 7 and the four-player local coop is good for sharing with friends. The different characters are represented well with each having their own special ability from Blaze’s nitro boost to Watts’ electro boost. However, with only 10 standard-looking tracks, the appeal is limited and children more familiar with driving games may want more.

2/5

Paw Patrol The Movie- Adventure City Calls

Paw Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls

There are at least three Paw Patrol games out on consoles, Paw Patrol: On A Roll (terrible), Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay (ok) and Adventure City Calls (better). In short, go for Adventure City Calls as it is the best of the three and has the biggest world to explore. As the movie introduced a new character, this game also has the biggest roster of playable characters, all with voice acting from the characters. The game can be played in local coop with family members and the variety of missions and vehicle levels keep it interesting for young players.

3/5

Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom

Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom

Last Kids on Earth is a top-down beat-em-up with light RPG elements. Players can either go it alone or team up with four friends in local co-op mode. The fighting mechanics are solid and don’t feel too repetitive while the upgrade system doesn’t do much apart from increasing bonus points. Single players can switch between the two ranged and two melee-focused characters by using the various phone booths littered across the levels. The graphics match the cartoon series perfectly which much of the audio lifted directly from the show. However, the game is criminally short and can be completed in under 4 hours. Some side quests to help to flesh it out but I would have liked more.

4/5

miraculous

Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx

Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx has huge ambitions with its fully explorable Paris setting, rooftop parkour, multi-goon fighting mechanics, and two-player action. However, slowdown and graphical issues do break the magic a little. Fans of the show will happily look past these glitches to enjoy a game packed with macaron collecting, hero upgrades, and de-evilizing. The gameplay is generally very forgiving for younger players and the voice and music is absolutely fantastic. Younger players will need help with the six end-of-level bosses when the difficulty really ramps up but the two-player option means that it is a great game to play with your children.

4/5

PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night

With 12 reasonably sized levels, easy and repetitive gameplay, PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night is great for young children who are fans of the show. The voice actors of both the heroes and villian reprised their roles and all contributed original voices for the game. Whilst for some, the constant voice guidance may be annoying, it helps keep young minds focused on the task at hand. Each level plays exactly the same, so whether you are a fan of Gecko, Owlet, or Catboy, each hero gets 33% of each level to climb walls, fly around, or double-jump over difficult obstacles. The vehicle levels break up the platforming action and the controls are so simplistic, it is impossible to go wrong.

4/5

my-friend-peppa-pig-game_8

My Friend Peppa Pig

My friend Peppa pig is a great introduction into video games teaching young children about the fun you can create pressing buttons. Right from the start screen players feel like part of a brand-new episode. From the character creation in the beginning to jumping in muddy puddles with Pippa at the end, the game is short, and simple but young fans of the show will be happy to jump back in. Whilst most of the voice acting is done by the cast, there is the new Peppa and a couple of changes that ‘hardcore’ fans of the show will notice but overall it was like Dragons Lair for a newer younger generation.

4/5 for new gamers
2/5 for experienced gamers

Ice Age- Scrats Nutty Adventure

Ice Age: Scrats Nutty Adventure

The true hero of the Ice Age saga has finally got his own video game and it sees Scrat platform his way through Ice fields, ice caves, and even a lost world collecting crystal acorns across 12 fun-filled levels. Sadly, the lack of cut scenes, various glitches, and some horrible camera angles mean that it can be both fun and frustrating in the same play-through. Scats Nutty Adventure is mediocre at best and a missed opportunity for a fun character that totally deserves better.

1/5

Jumanji- The Video Game

Jumanji: The Video Game

The video game of a movie about a video game that was a board game in a movie. Jumanji uses the characters and settings of the 2017 film in a third-person shooting/fighting game. Players can team up with four friends in local co-op or play online. Players run and gun through various maze-like levels fighting and shooting goons and natives to collect four pieces of a jewel. Once collected, they move into a safe room before tackling the next level. The game is nothing like the films but it’s simple enough to battle through with friends. Achievements come thick and fast but the gameplay soon becomes repetitive. It’s a bit of fun but don’t expect it to be anything like the films.

2/5

teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-shredders-revenge

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a lovingly crafted homage of the TMNT arcade beat-em-up. Its 6-player co-op is fantastic with friends and the gameplay is simple to pick up but with lots to master. The nostalgic pixel aesthetic will resonate with parents as they bash through the whole game in a single sitting with the family. Whilst the level design can get a little samey, the range of characters, fighting mechanics, and fantastic music will keep you playing. A must for any big family looking for a game everyone can play.

5/5

DC League of Super Pets

DC League of Super Pets

DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace might will not be the game you expect as it involves Krypto and Ace flying through Metropolis is a star-fox-inspired shoot-em-up. Using Krypto’s eye lasers and Ace’s batarangs, the two fly through 15 levels trying to save the city’s lost pets from the evil Lex Luthor. The graphics look great and calling upon PB (Wonder Woman’s pig), Merton (Flash’s tortoise) or Chip (Green Lantern’s cat) is great. Sadly, the lack of enemy variety, repetitive level design (it’s always Metropolis), and hard-to-handle controls mean that only super fans of the movie need apply.

2/5

LOL surprise BBS Born to Travel

L.O.L surprise! BBS Born to Travel

The LOL game is a lightweight version of Overcooked as it sees the Dolls packing and making the L.O.L balls that the toys usually come in. By using the right mix of sunshine, stars, and hearts, you fill each complicated little ball before sending them out into the world. The intricate recipes are complicated for the target age group but the lack of a time limit does make it easier. Up to four players can team up to work through the various levels that get more and more complicated with lifts and platforms. Players unlock new dolls and accessories and can update their character throughout. The music and fashion mini-games between levels add a little more to the mix but feel bolted on compared to the main game. Fans of the dolls may need parental help to complete but it’s interesting enough when playing with friends.

3/5

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3- Slime Speedway

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway

If Mario Kart holds the top spot when it comes to Kart Racers, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway is definitely second place. With over 40 characters, tonnes of weapons, hundreds of unlockables, and a massive variety of tracks, Slime Speedway actually outperforms Mario Kart in all but one department: accessibility. The sheer wealth of options can mean jumping into a multiplayer game is not a quick affair. These options are fantastic in the single-player mode, but when you want to do a four-player couch co-op or 12-player online play, there are so many choices. For Xbox owners, Slime Speedway is the best kart racer on the platform.

5/5

JoJo Siwa Worldwide Party

JoJo Siwa Worldwide Party

Don’t let the name fool you. This is not a party game, instead, Jo Jo Siwa Worldwide Party is a mix of an endless runner with a rhythm game. Jo Jo runs across 12 levels jumping, sliding, and bashing her way through 4 of her big hits. Jumps and bashes need to be in time with the music to keep your speed and unlock bonus items. In between each song you can unlock makeup, clothes, and obviously bows to enhance your character. Whilst the game is quite fun, it feels stretched out to make a full game. The 4 songs have 4 variations from instrumental to full-blown concert variations, but it would have been nice to have a few more songs. With no multiplayer and limited appeal, this one is only for the fans.

1/5

Horse Club Adventures 2- Hazelwood Stories

Horse Club Adventures 2: Hazelwood Stories

Horse Club Adventures 2 is an open-world horse riding game based on the popular toys from Schleich. Players can create their own horse and take part in an array of horse-related disciplines from dressage to show jumping. Players are given tasks by the inhabitants of Hazelwood that include working on the farm to taking photographs of local wildlife. You will need to feed and clean your horse throughout and unlock new gear to enhance the speed, endurance and agility of your pony. Some riders may be annoyed by the invisible barriers in the ‘open world’ but with lots to do and no pressures, this is a fantastic game for pony fans.

4/5

Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley takes the tried and tested formulas of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing and sprinkles on some Disney Magic. After moving to the valley, Players must befriend and help the various inhabitants with quests, errands, and tasks. From mining valuable resources to simply having a picnic with Mickey to cheer him up, there is so much here for Disney fans to enjoy. The graphics and voice acting are fantastic and there is new content being added regularly. Sadly, there is a lot of grinding to be done to earn the in-game currency and lots of microtransactions such you want to skip the grind.

5/5

Lego Starwars - Skywalker Saga

Lego Star Wars – The Skywalker Saga

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a mammoth beat of a game with over 300 characters, 45 levels, and over 1000 collectibles, this game will keep players busy for a very long time. Add to that the various DLC packs for The Madolorian and Rogue One and you have a game that is fantastic value for money. The graphics are the best yet in a Lego game and it uses all the iconic music and sound found in the nine movies. Some levels are more memorable than others and those that have played any of the previous Lego Star Wars games will recognize many of the levels. but with improved graphics and gameplay, this is one not to be missed.

5/5

Bratz - flaunt your fashion

Bratz – Flaunt Your Fashion

Play as your favorite Bratz character and begin your globe-trotting adventure to become the world’s best fashion reporter. Blaze a trail as you chase the biggest style stories, take on quests to help new friends, and play various minigames in order to unlock the latest scoop for Bratz Magazine. The in-game currency can be used for new outfits, characters, and even scooters. The semi-open world is fun to run however many of the characters just stand in one place waiting to be talked to making it feel a little static. However, the variety of activities and the solid voice acting make this a great all-rounder for fans of the show.

4/5

Dragons- Legends of the Nine Realms

Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms is a dragon-focused adventure that is equal parts combat and exploration. The journey takes you across five worlds, each with five levels (the last level per world being a boss battle with a dragon many times your size). The vibrant and chunky levels are fun to explore and fly around and switching between the different dragons like Wu and Wei when Skrills appeared, or Thunder for some of the larger dragons is easy enough. Collectibles allow you to purchase character upgrades such as new combos and new skins and whilst it annoyingly has no two-player option, it’s fun to play and easy for children to complete.

3/5

So there you have it, 25 licensed Xbox games for children. With a handful of 5/5 titles in the mix your kids can enjoy exploring, driving, or fighting on the mighty Xbox. Which games do your children play the most on Xbox? Leave your comments below.

Arcade games evoke fond memories for many older gamers. Collectively, they represented the first gaming experience for an entire generation, and paved the way for what would eventually become the biggest entertainment industry of today.

Some of these older classics, such as Space Invaders and Tetris, for example, have been remade, remastered, and re-released for smartphones several times over. But there’s a whole host of other arcade games which have been left to gather dust. With that in mind, here are seven arcade-only titles we would love to play on a mobile device one day.

final-fight-

Final Fight

Final Fight is regarded as one of the best side-scrolling beat-em-ups ever made. The first arcade game came out back in 1989, delighting old-school gamers with its responsive controls, gorgeous pixel art, and an extensive roster of heroic vigilantes.

Players have to take on a variety of criminal gangs, and street justice can either be dispensed solo or with the help of your friends. It’s the perfect formula for a compelling mobile game, with just enough complexity to keep things interesting for modern gamers.

Metal-Slug

Metal Slug

The Metal Slug series has been ported to nearly every video game console ever made, including portable devices like the Gameboy Advance, for instance. However, we’re yet to see a smartphone-friendly version unless you count the iPod Touch as a smartphone.

The aim of the game is as straightforward as it gets; kill enemies as you move through each level. That’s not what made this series so special, though. Yes, the gameplay is a ton of fun, but the art style and humor of Metal Slug allowed it to stand out in a sea of generic titles.

daytona

Daytona

Whether or not an arcade racing game can be ported to smartphones is still up for debate, but we’re willing to see where the discussion leads for the sake of progress, especially if it means that we get the chance to play Daytona again.

A mobile version probably won’t provide the same experience as sitting in a bucket seat and spinning a real steering wheel, but the nostalgia factor is too tempting to ignore. What’s more, the added multiplayer would be a game-changer, allowing every car to be controlled by human players.

crazy-taxi

Crazy Taxi

Crazy Taxi is another action-packed racing game that could be a blast on smartphones. Like Metal Slug, it’s a beloved series ported to several consoles and mobile devices, and we can’t help but wonder why a version for smartphones hasn’t been made yet.

The core gameplay mechanics of being a taxi driver and performing stunts make for a potent combination. The drop-in, drop-out nature of each level is ideal for gaming on the go, and the soundtrack is an absolute banger, too, featuring licensed hard rock and punk rock music.

Silent-Scope

Silent Scope

Difficult to complete yet extremely satisfying to play, Silent Scope takes the traditional on-rails mechanics of games like Time Crisis and slaps a literal scope on top, placing a second screen in the scope of a light gun to simulate the real deal.

The signature dual-screen setup was revolutionary at the time, and we can’t think of a better game to harness the enormous potential of augmented reality (AR). Pokemon Go and other successful AR implementations have proven the viability of the genre, and the strong concept behind Silent Scope could be exactly what AR needs.

nfl-blitz

NFL Blitz

NFL Blitz is best described as an exaggerated version of football. Unlike its modern counterparts, it’s not a hardcore sports simulator with complex physics, nor does it have pinpoint accurate statistics. What it does have, however, is an abundance of absurd action.

Every element of Blitz is designed for short bursts of intense and engaging gameplay, whether it’s the shorter games or the absence of late tackle penalties. It’s the type of sports game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, making it highly suitable for casual gaming.

double-dragon

Double Dragon

Double Dragon was released in 1987, two years before Final Fight. Both were incredibly popular arcade games, and we would be happy with either of them being remade, but the best-case scenario is for gamers to experience both of these side-scrolling classics.

Due to genre-defining gameplay, Double Dragon spawned a plethora of clones and imitators, eventually ushering in the first golden age of beat-em-ups. It led to a television series and a live-action film, and it’s one of the games most deserving of a remake or a remaster.

With COVID now a fading memory, 2022 saw sports come back with a bang, alongside some amazing updates to established sporting titles. Throw into the mix a few new sporting games and you have a fantastic year for sports games. From frisbees to fishing and balls of all shapes and sizes, here are the five biggest sports games of 2022.

fifa2022

FIFA 2022

The HyperMotion technology is the biggest gameplay change we’ve seen in the FIFA series for over a decade and adds thousands of new animations and smoother gameplay throughout. The VOLTA is fantastic in multiplayer and the Career mode has a treasure trove of new options. The FIFA Ultimate Team has loads of new features that include upgraded concepts like Division Rivals and FUT Champions, the new collector mode now welcomes some club customization. There are ways to play FIFA with a no-money-spent approach, but it does take patience and discipline. For those looking to get a boost, you can either spend real money or get FIFA 22 coins from online retailers. Overall, the gameplay updates alone give this game a spot in the top five and whilst the VOLTA and Career modes could be improved further, this game is simply amazing.

NBA-2K23

NBA 2K23

The graphics in NBA 2K23 are just gorgeous as the players run around the court in glorious 4K, dribbling and dunking looks amazing. The gameplay is fluid but complex as it is built for the basketball afficiado rather than the fairweather gamer. The addition of the Jordan Challenge giving you access to the great man himself and the My Career mode is a massive RPG allowing you to skateboard around town, attend interviews and even manage your social media. The whole package is massive at 150GB but is great value as there is so much on offer.

f1-manager

F1 Manager 2022

Race weekends have never been so exciting. In F1 Manager 2022, the races are beautifully presented with lifelike visuals that make it look like you are watching a race on TV. However Influencing the behaviour of your drivers is crucial if you want to drive your team to victory. From pit strategies to mid race tyre wear, this solid F1 managemenet sim is a fantastic entry into the genre from Frontier Developments. Whether you want to micro-manage every little variable or simply make grand changes and see how it pans out, you will need patience and focus to rise through the rankings.

Shredders

Shredder is a brand-new snowboarding game with a focus on realism. You won’t find insane spinning or near-limitless rail riding here. Shredders allow players to control both the upper body and lower body in a whole new way. The result is a fluid and satisfying snowboarding game that goes back to basic to deliver a heartfelt love letter to the sport. Many will find the controls jarring at first but once you have it, landing those complicated tricks feels all that more rewarding.

Madden NFL 23

Not only does Madden NFL 23 have stunning graphics, but it’s wonderfully accessible, and works well if you are new to the sport or a die-hard football fan. Playing in either Arcade mode or simulation, Madden NFL makes the game feel fast, frenetic, and strategic. The new passing mechanic ‘Field-sense’ can be turned off for players used to the older style but the new system works really well with a bit of practice. The Franchise Mode gives you full control of the business, making all of the decisions for your team. It can be a bit of a slog but it will keep you busy. The Ultimate Team mode is where you will spend most of your time as well as most of your money as earning Stars can unlock new players, packs, and tactics… or you can just buy them to improve faster.

Whilst the biggest sports games of 2022 might be the franchises you expected, I think it is worth giving an honourable mention to…

Call of the Wild: The Angler

The beautiful fishing game goes beyond the rod and allows players to drive the boat, and walk around the beautiful lakes and shores to find the best spots before stopping for some hardcore fishing. Whilst this is a niche sport, Call of the Wild must be applauded for its authenticity and fishing experience. The attention to detail with the tackle and fish is fantastic and the ambient soundscape adds to the overall immersion. Whilst the ability to see other players wander around and fish was amazing, the lack of interactivity with them was one of the only elements that let it down.

What was your favourite sports game of 2022? Add them to the comments below.

With Halloween fast approaching, I wanted to give my rundown of the scariest games of 2022. While the last one isn’t out until December, I can tell you know that it’s going to be scary, Whether you like jump scares, eerie silence or unbearable tension, this list of the scariest games of 2022 is sure to please. Which games in 2022 scared you the most?

Forgive Me Father – April 2022

The fast-paced Lovecraftian FPS feels like old-school doom with its 2D enemies and meaty weapons. The comic-book graphics and true-to-source characters give this a fantastic look and feel. The RPG skill tree is a great new addition to the genre and running through the darkly lit corridors and round blind corners is both very scary but lots of fun.

The-Quarry-Games

The Quarry – June 2022

When nine teenage counselors of Hackett’s Quarry throw a party to celebrate the end of summer things take a turn for the worst. Hunted by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister, the teens’ party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. Whilst The Quarry feels more like an interactive horror movie than an engaging game, the overall experience is equal parts scary and entertaining. Can you survive the night?

madison

Madison – July 2022

With an array of twisted puzzles to solve and a multitude of jump scares, unraveling the morbid central mystery of madison is a bit like trying to solve an escape room while simultaneously trying not to poo yourself from all the horrific things in there. Inspired by Hideo Kojima’s frightening demo PT, Madison tells the story of a young boy who wakes up in his house covered in blood and a malignant spirit roaming the rooms. Can you escape this psychological nightmare?

withering-rooms

Withering Rooms – October 2022

Withering Rooms is a 2.5D horror adventure set in a procedurally generated Victorian mansion that changes each night. The character designs for the array of inhabitants are haunting and hiding under a table whilst the faceless minions walking the corridors will certainly get your heart pumping. Whilst the animations of the main character is a little clunky, the rest of the visuals and the cacophony of eerie sounds and dialogue will certainly give you nightmares.

scorn

Scorn – October 2022

Just released this week, Scorn is straight out of the twisted mind of H.R Geiger. All the footage and gameplay look both mesmerizing and horrific at the same time. From the player’s shredded hands to the fleshy sacks that litter the levels, the whole game looks scary as hell and it is little wonder the Kickstarter was funded so quickly. If you are looking for a game that will give you nightmares this Halloween, Scorn is the game for you.

the-callisto-protocol

Callisto Protocol – December 2022

Callisto Protocol is a third-person survival horror game set 300 years in the future, players take on the role of Jacob Lee – a prisoner of the maximum-security penitentiary located on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. When the inmates begin to transform into monstrous creatures, the prison becomes a terrifying nightmare. This pulse-pounding story is filled with unspeakable horrors and with creatures lurking around every corner, you may need some new underwear after playing this one.

What games scared you in 2022?

It’s going to be a fruitful fall this year in the gaming world, and these are the top 5 most exciting games scheduled to release this following November.

5 Expected Game Releases in November 2022

November is usually the month when game development bigwigs go head-to-head and compete for the throne of the gaming market by releasing the biggest gaming blockbusters of the year. Luckily for gamers, this November will be nothing short of impressive as well, as plenty of high-quality games will get released.

Thus, we made a list in which you can look at some of the most exciting gaming titles scheduled for release in November. Those interested in online slots can dig this and find out what’s new in that section of the gaming world.

Sonic-Frontiers

Sonic Frontiers

Our favorite hedgehog that has been ruling the gaming world for decades is racing towards his scheduled November release, and gamers around the world can’t be excited enough. In Sonic Frontiers, players will have the chance to control the main protagonist Sonic The Hedgehog, as he explores the Starfall Islands, the first open world of the well-known series. Sonic’s latest gaming addition will take players on a blistering journey where they will have to defeat countless enemies while exploring the spectacular Starfall Islands.

Players will also have a chance to get upgrades through the new skill tree and make the most of the entirely remodeled battle system. The game will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on November 8th and will provide the players with a remarkable high-speed gaming adventure.

god-of-war-ragnarok

God of War: Ragnarok

November will be a momentous month for PlayStation fans because it will mark the launch of the sequel to one of the most groundbreaking games released in the past decade. God of War: Ragnarok is scheduled to launch on November 9th, and it is, without a doubt, the most anticipated game of the year. In this PlayStation exclusive, players will have the chance to take Kratos and Atreus on their next adventure through all of the nine realms of Norse mythology, where they will have to defeat a plethora of different enemies using updated combat movements.

Besides the axes and chained blades, players will also have a chance to emerge victorious in their battles against mythical creatures by using a shield. God of War Ragnarok will be released on the 9th of November, exclusively for PS5 and PS4, and it will be a spectacular father and son mythic journey that no PlayStation user should miss.

COH3

Company of Heroes 3

If you are looking for the perfect blend of action and strategy in a game in which you can take the role of a commanding general during World War 2, then Company of Heroes 3 will be a great choice for you. Developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sega, Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time strategy game that will exceed the expectations of even the biggest RTS enthusiasts.

This upcoming game will feature more factions than ever before and will allow players to team up and battle against AI or engage in player-versus-player combat in various modes. Unfortunately, the team behind the game is still struggling to deliver a final product with polished gameplay that will meet the expectations of the players, so the launch date has been moved to February 2023. The game will be released exclusively for PC via Steam.

wow-dragonflight

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight

We all know it’s going to be a massive year for the world of gaming when the upcoming ninth expansion pack of World of Warcraft is coming. As players eagerly anticipate accumulating WoW Dragonflight gold, the expansion will introduce four new zones full of mysteries waiting to be unraveled.

As the name suggests, in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, players will have the opportunity to explore new zones riding their own customizable dragons. The game will also feature a new talent system based on talent trees. Players can pre-purchase this new expansion pack and get to unlock items that can help them during their adventures in the ancestral land of dragonkind.

World of Warcraft®: Dragonflight launches on November 28, and it’s already available for pre-purchase in three different editions. Season 1 will go live on December 12, and it will feature a brand new raid with eight new and unique boss encounters. See you in Azeroth!

darktide

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

The Warhammer 40,000 universe is a virtual home to thousands of gamers all over the globe, and the latest addition to the series will be a first-person action game that will provide a thrilling co-op-focused experience. Players can carry both a gun and melee weapon, and they will have to overcome the waves of two kinds of enemies that will require two different types of combat. Developed and published by Fatshark, Warhammer 40k: Darktide will be available for PC at the end of November and later during the year for Xbox Series X/S.

The Summer fun might be ending, but the clean-up doesn’t have to be boring. Today, JUSTICE SUCKS: Tactical Vacuum Action launches on PC and all consoles. Developed by Samurai Punk and published by tinyBuild, enter a surreal world of action-comedy stealth on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. When evil forces attack, it’s up to an adorably deadly robot vacuum to clean house. Get a taste of the chaos to come in the live-action launch trailer below!

justice-sucks
When little robot vacuum Dusty McClean became sapient, his first thought was how much he loved his human family. He lived to help them cleaning up messes, controlling appliances and more. After an evil corporation voids his warranty and abducts his family, he learns a new emotion: Rage. Prepare to storm the corporate HQ in the best training montage ever: A deep dive into a world of televised ‘90s strangeness. Keep it clean in there.
Honing Dusty into a spotless weapon of war is going to be tough, but he’s not alone. Summon an incarnation of his fighting spirit; the flexing, shimmering Sexy McClean, and master new powers to clean up crime. Launch potted plants, knives or cats (the ultimate weapon) at foes, hack devices to set up deadly traps, and suck up every last trace of your fallen enemies to fuel Dusty’s deadliest moves.
justice-sucks

Somewhere along the line, Dusty has developed a taste for human blood, and is able to use it as fuel for his most powerful abilities. Unleash the deadliest robot combat arts the world has ever known, reduce your foes to a cloud of meaty chunks, clean it all up and repeat this deliciously deadly cycle. Tackle bonus missions and unlock more moves to diversify your destructive power. It’s a dirty part of the job, but one that you’ll have to master if you want to return this robot to his life of domestic bliss.

History buffs might frown at the very mention of a medieval video game. For all their epicness, badass sorcerers and mythology-infused monsters are not quite grounded in reality. But the magical lore of fantasy RPGs à la Dark Souls and The Witcher isn’t all there is to the medieval period on console and PC. And these four medieval games will have you swinging a sword and besieging a fortress in no time.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

In the heart of Europe, Bohemia is a land of wealth and culture. But the death of Emperor Charles IV throws the entire kingdom in disarray. Once the jewel of the Holy Roman Empire, Bohemia is torn apart by raging war and corruption. Henry, the son of a blacksmith, falls victim to the chaos as he witnesses the slaughter of his parents. To avenge their death and repel the invaders, his time has come to fight back.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a detailed medieval life sim situated during the 15th century. Priding itself in its historical accuracy, this RPG features several period characters on top of genuine-looking armour and combat techniques. Alongside challenging side quests, this lengthy action RPG has plenty in store for lovers of stealth and melee combat. Besides, the authentic looks of its massive open world offer a stunning trip back to medieval times.

anno-1404

Anno 1404

For fans of real-time strategy games, Anno probably needs no introduction. The Ubisoft franchise ranks among the most popular city-building series ever. And in 2009, Anno took on a medieval spin. The game invites players to colonise islands and set up farms and factories to keep their population thriving, while maintaining their finances in the green. Players may occasionally take on rivalling AI characters through naval and ground combat.

But Anno 1404 introduced several new features, including two cultural zones based on north-western Renaissance Europe and the Near East. Developers later released an extensive Venice pack. An updated and 4K optimised Anno 1404 History Edition was made available in 2020. Thus, the game runs as smoothly as ever on any modern PC.

Assassin’s Creed

Medieval games mainly focus on the Western world, with the odd incursion in feudal Japan. But the first Assassin’s Creed took an original turn with a vibrant depiction of the medieval Middle East. From Jerusalem to Damascus, this action-adventure epic embarks players across the Holy Land. While the in-game clash between Assassins and Templars is far from historical, the game still borrows elements from the Third Crusade. And reports announce a Middle Eastern comeback with the next Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Meanwhile, lesser-known entries offer a refreshing twist from the Eurocentric narrative.

While still under development, Knights of Light is an action RPG set in 7th-century Iraq. As for Arabian Lords, this strategy game has players managing a Middle Eastern city throughout the Rise of Islam. The same developer celebrated Middle Eastern culture with mobile games, including a modern rendition of the ancient quirkat board game. Players might also discover traditional card games, only with no gambling involved due to cultural restrictions. However, players in the MENA area can gamble away on the best online casino sites in Qatar and beyond. The best casinos cater to Arabic players with a range of classic table games and slots. Experts emphasise security measures to ensure a safe and anonymous gambling session. Plus, players can claim hefty rewards and bonuses to keep the fun going.

going-medieval

Going Medieval

Going Medieval is a medieval simulation game released to critical acclaim by indie studio Foxy Voxel. The game kicks off in the late 14th century in the aftermath of a devastating plague epidemic. As 95% of the population has perished, it is up to the few survivors to give birth to a new society. Controlling a colony of settlers, players must build them a home. But perils await in a dangerous land full of lurking bandits and animals, while unpredictable threats loom over the colony.

Starting from humble wooden huts, players gradually upgrade to sprawling forts and fortresses. Crafting weapons helps settlers defend their home, whereas farming feeds the ever-growing colony. Players must also heed their colony’s needs, from building religious altars to entertaining them with backgammon tables. Overall, this management game has all the right ingredients of a city builder with a medieval feel to boot.

RimWorld follows the story of three survivors from a crashed space liner as they build a colony on a frontier world at the edge of known space. However, that story is never the same one, nor are the survivors and neither is the outcome. Welcome to the wonderful of AI-generated storytelling known as Rimworld. But is this Firefly-inspired adventure cutting edge or off the rim, here are my first impressions of Rimworld Console Edition.

RimWorld-Console-Edition2-sm

Rimworld: Console Edition Review on Xbox

The first time I played Rimworld, my little band of soldiers, cave dweller and shopkeeper soon settled into their little wooden hut and started growing rice, everything was peaceful until a rabid squirrel attacked. After the rabid rodent had done its damage and subsequently been killed, they helped a lone traveler and were attacked by marauders. Thankfully, the marauder wasn’t fatally injured and there was an opportunity for him to join the team but in the flurry of battle, I added too many orders one of my team beat him to death carrying out a delayed command. Soon after they ate a tortoise and then other attackers hurt two of my team then burned down my house which them inside…

The second and third time round, none of these events happened…

Rimworld is a really unique game that marries the graphics of the Prison Architect series, the epic stories of Skyrim, and the mountain of data found in Dwarf Kingdom. Players first choose their three crew mates from a random selection of characters, each character has both a childhood background and adult profession, these two elements form the basis of their traits and abilities. The poor little cave dweller might have great mining abilities, but lack social skills, whereas the Comedian will boost morale but be terrible with guns. The multitude of variations is fantastic and sometimes a little dark and it doesn’t stop there (more on that later). Before each game, you can choose your Story Teller. The three options are Cassandra Classic, Pheobe Chillax, or Randy Random. As you might imagine, these are the balanced route in which you are given time between disasters to rebuild, the peaceful route that focuses on building your community, and the random in which you can be struck with blight one moment and attacked by an ancient evil you awoke whilst mining.

RimWorld-Console-Edition

If you think you are a peaceful kind of gamer, ignore this bit. The game can descend into madness during some games and you might need to be morally flexible to get through the craziness. Your colony may need to be cannibals sometimes or harvest downed teammates for their organs but its survival of the fittest on Rimworld and the story can take some interesting twists and turns. The emergent gameplay never follows a set path, instead throwing in new twists to keep it interesting. If you set a trap for a marauder and forget it’s there, you might find one dead colonist, wander too far from home and you might meet a giant sloth that can kill. There are just so many things that can go wrong. If two of your colonists start a relationship and one dies, the other might have a mental breakdown and run rampage through the colony. It’s completely bonkers but utterly amazing.

RimWorld-Console-Edition

For those who quiver with excitement over mountains of data, Rimworld has it in droves. From temperature, crop yield, medicine effects, social buffs, addiction, and so much more. However, new players to the micro-management simulation genre might find it all a little daunting. The first tutorial will take you through your first 30 minutes but after that, you are on your own. If you are happy to learn the complexities of the game then you will be rewarded ten-fold.

Rimworld has been out on Steam for years and there are additional DLC packs and an active modding community. The game has overwhelmingly positive reviews and has been one of the most popular games on the platform for many years. Now console gamers can enjoy this fantastic experience and access to the DLC as well. Modding is currently not included but may come in the future.

Rimworld Console Edition – Summary

Rimworld is a fantastic game that has SO much replayability. You can choose the ‘Get off the planet’ quest and complete the game, but the joy is simply surviving the twist and turns that the storyteller throws at you. There is a steep learning curve for new players but for those with the patience to work through it, you will not be disappointed. I have called this a first impression, as I am 20+ hours in and the average play time on steam, is 130 hours so I have a long way to go. The graphics may be basic but the emergence of storytelling and randomness of the whole experience makes this one of the greatest games very made. And for all those indie devs out there, it was done by two people.

Brawlout is a smash-style fighting game developed and published by Angry Mob Games. Blending platform fighter mechanics and traditional fighting gameplay, Brawlout is a stylish battle royale for up to four players. I’ve had it for years and play it regularly so it was amazing to find that I had not reviewed it yet.

But is this party fighting game a smash hit or crushing defeat, here’s my review of Brawlout on Xbox.

brawlout-1

Brawlout on Xbox

Brawlout had always hoped to cater to the veteran platform fighters, the casual fans, and the newcomer looking to make their mark. Over the years the following has grown and there are now tournaments, leagues, and professional teams.

Each character in Brawlout has its own unique playstyle, catering to specific character archetypes seen in other fighters. Whether you’re a die-hard grappler or a rush-down fiend, there is a fighter for you in Brawlout. There are currently six original characters that can be personalised. More recently, Brawlout has embraced its indie status and added four popular indie characters that include:

  • Dead Cells
  • Yooka-Laylee
  • Guacamelee
  • Hyper Light Drifter

brawlout-3

As well as cosmetic skins, each original Brawlout character has three Variants; alternative versions of the character with different stats, outfits, and even new moves. With these Variants, Brawlout’s cast numbers 25 individual fighters. Finding the right fighter (and Variant) that’s right for you can take some time but the patient player will eventually meet their match.

As for modes, Brawlout has all you’d expect from a normal platform fighter and then some. Up to four players can compete in either Timed, Stock, Team Battles, FFA, or Party Modes.

brawlout-4

AI opponents are also available if you want to practice your team combos with a friend, or if you need to fill out a free-for-all. Players can train using various tutorials or jump into the challenging Arcade Towers and the new Trials mode.

Overall Brawlout is a gorgeous and colorful experience with fast paces and frantic battles. The game is best in a local multiplayer setting with real-life friends but online play is equally enjoyable. Brawlout is not quite Smash, but it certainly scratches that itch if you are on every other console except Nintendo. With its cult following, additional characters, and unique play style it is going from strength to strength.

Superola is a game about a heroic llama who saves the day when an army of evil space hot dogs invade the planet and steal all the burgers. Superola must jump, fly, swim, and use his burger-powered Lazer puke to defeat the myriad frogs, moles, monkeys, birds, and dinosaurs that stand in his way.

No, I’ve not been hit in the head by something heavy, this truly is what Superola is all about. But is Superola al-paca crazy ideas that don’t work or is it a llama drama worth playing? Here’s my review of Superola on Xbox.

superola-1-sm

First things first… I had to use a wired controller to play as my wireless didn’t work and it seemed to be a game issue rather than a hardware issue. Looking at the comments, I wasn’t alone.

Superola Championship Edition feels like a game in which two Fiverr game developers were asked to make a llama game for $500 and then the buyer added more features to the one they liked the most. There are literally two games here, an endless runner with illustrated cartoon graphics and a pixel art puzzle platformer called Alpaca’s Redemption both staring the white llama.

The main game’s story is completely bonkers and you can see subtle nods to various video games throughout. “All your burgers belong to us”, and  “it’s dangerous to go alone, take this” are just two of the written throwbacks, but you will also beat up a car like in Street Fighter, jump over monkeys that look very similar to Toki, and skateboard in a very Wonderboy way. The creator obviously loved retro games of the 90s and crowbarred many references to give it an old-school feel.

Superola-championship edition

As you work your way from point to point on the Mario World-style map the difficulty ramps up sharply and after a few easy levels you may find yourself trying levels over 100 times in order to complete it. I know this as the game tells you each time to start. The game gets very difficult, very quickly, and having only one hit means any mistake is punished with immediate death. Power-ups such as double jumps and double hits are useful but are earned way to sporadically to be useful. And if you activate the double jump and die on the second obstacle, it’s spent and gone.

Superola is SO frustrating and yet has an addictive quality that keeps you playing 10… 100 more times. Players need to learn the level, know the pressure difference between a quick jump and a high jump and eventually reach the checkered platform and be rewarded with wings or a poo.

The graphics have a cheap quality to them with animations being limited to a few frames but the whole game can also be played in a retro pixel style for those looking for a trip down memory lane.

Superola-championship edition

Other game modes include an endless mode and a versus game that see multiple players riding in Minecraft carts and jumping Obstacles for as long as possible.

The Championship Edition does look better than the original game from 4+ years ago, but the frustrating difficulty curve, and the fact that sometimes you don’t jump when pressing a button or enemies not dying when in the line of your Lazer puke adds to the overall stress. I love the madness of the story, and all the nods to retro games but Superola needs some work to tighten up the controls on Xbox and create a difficulty curve that will mean levels don’t take over 100 attempts to complete. At $5 or £4 full price, you get what you paid for, short-lived fun with some nostalgic gaming references to smile at.

With tennis season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to bring out a brand new tennis game. It feels like years since the last decent tennis game with the likes of TopSpin and Mario Tennis being the biggest names of the past. Matchpoint – Tennis Championship is a truly modern take on the sport, with realistic physics and a unique rivalry system to give a deeply enjoyable experience. But with only 16 licensed players and some unforgiving realism, is it a foul or game, set, and match. Here’s my review of Matchpoint- Tennis Championships.

Matchpoint – Tennis Championship Review on Xbox Series X

Matchpoint – Tennis Championships balance the fine line between realism and arcade, as it is easy to pick up and play without leaving you brow beaten and feeling worthless. I have often found that the more ‘real’ something is, the harder it is. You are unlikely to win your first 10 games, but once you have an eye for the landing spot, you’ll be able to rally with the best of them.

The tennis mechanics are where this game really shines. With a strong focus on tactical realism, positioning, and aiming. Each match requires skill to avoid the ball constantly going out. When using the position assistant, you can see exactly where the ball will land which makes it easier, but perhaps too easy for pro gamers. The training gives you all you need to know about the strokes and shots and offers advice on when to use topspin, flat, lob, or slice shots.

The player characters themselves have all the character animations you might expect including a couple that might surprise you. The ball physics seems accurate and the player control is responsive when you get the hang of it. There are a variety of courts to play on including grass, clay, and hard courts, and some are named venues for tennis aficionados.

The game is extended beyond the simple one-on-one matches which the introduction of a personal coach to hone your skills. The coaching side allows players to improve your player’s strengths and reduce their weaknesses with an in-game coaching system of individual training modules. The inclusion of a selection of mini-game is a nice touch and a welcome distraction if you find yourself on a losing streak.

If like me, you don’t know your Roger Federer from your Rafael Nadal, you won’t miss the bigger names on the roster. There are 16 licensed players from around the world that include the likes of Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori, and Amanda Anisimova which I don’t really know, but for the casual gamer, this is fine. There is a detailed character creator that allows you to choose your look, fashion, and play style with an array of customization options. Once created you can also make them left-or right-handed and give them a onehanded or twohanded backhand. For me and my family, we enjoyed making ourselves and playing with each other. It was here that we came across its biggest issue – the lack of a doubles game. It was very strange to play a tennis game that didn’t include this and my family missed the fact that we couldn’t all play together. Despite this, you can play two players local or against other players online and be ranked on their online leaderboards.

Overall, Matchpoint – Tennis Championships is a welcome addition to the Xbox lineup after a long drought of tennis games. The fact it is included with Game Pass is also a nice surprise and will ensure that there are lots of people to play against online. The tennis mechanics are fantastic and you can tell that a lot of effort went into getting this right. The position of assistant is useful at first but hardcore tennis game fans may prefer to turn it off to keep the matches challenging. The lack of the ‘biggest’ names in tennis is a shame, but the extensive player creator tool makes up for it. The complete absence of the option of a double is bizarre but perhaps this might come later. Matchpoint – Tennis Championships are great fun and worth playing even if you are not an avid tennis fan. It’s easy to pick up and play and with it being included on Game Pass, you have no excuse to give it a shot.

This article offers recommendations based on what my two daughters have played over the years and enjoyed. It is not trying to be sexist or pigeonhole genders into certain game types but offers content based on recent search trends on my website

There are plenty of games out there that young female gamers would love, due to their positive representation of women, a really fun story, or gameplay. Having played games with my two daughters over the past 12 years, these are only recommendations. Having seen a lot of website traffic to a different article titled little girls in video games, this is more of a game development article about narrative devices to connect to the player and NOT about games for girls. In an attempt to give those readers who are looking for recommendations, here are some titles that are great for girl gamers.

horse-club-adventurees

Horse Club Adventures

Horse Club Adventures is one of many horse games available and is a vibrant open world in which players enjoy a long vacation riding horses and completing a variety of tasks. At first, players create their character and horse (no male characters) from a very limited collection and then are given a multitude of fetch and delivery quests across the huge open world. With well over 12 hours of gameplay and an array of costumes and accessories to unlock throughout the game. My daughters enjoyed personalising their horse and character.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Shantae Series

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the fourth adventure for Shantae and was featured in my round-up of Children’s games. It’s beautiful high-definition cartoon graphics and a strong female lead character, Shantae can hit enemies with her hair and use her genie powers to change into a plethora of different animals from tower climbing monkeys to deep diving crabs.

Kingdom-Hearts

Kingdom Hearts

Another RPG with about as many female fans as male fans, Kingdom Hearts brings together the style of classic Square Enix RPGs with Disney characters. Not to say every girl loves Disney, but it’s sort of hard to resist a game with Mickey in it.

minecraft-scene

Minecraft

Minecraft is a fantastic sandbox that allows all children to build, create and make up their own adventures. whether they want to build and run their own stable or explore the Frozen castle with Elsa, the game is huge and there will be something for everyone’s tastes.

party-games

Overcooked / Moving Out / Out of Space

I loved playing multiplayer games with my girls. Whether you want to run a restaurant, empty houses of their belonging or clean up a dirty space station, there are a variety of fun multiplayer games worth diving into with your children.

disney-rush-xbox-one

Disney Rush

Originally out on Xbox 360, this game is backward compatible and has to be up there as one of my TOP games for children. It’s full of different games, and colorful characters and it’s impossible to die.

Summer In Mara

Summer in Mara

In Summer in Mara players look after their own island, harvest crops, create tools and buildings, and sail around to discover new islands and secrets. The controls are easy enough to use, from gathering apples to mining stones in the caves, but its the story that will keep you playing. The little girl in the game finds herself alone on the island and it’s only through flashbacks you piece together why.

my-time-at-portia

My Time In Portia

Set up shop and become part of the community in this sweet adventure game. You can choose to level up your fighting skills or simply make furniture. There are lots of options to choose from and little direction from the game as to which route to take. This refreshing game style means you can take the game at your own pace and make up your own story. For more details, check out my review of My Time in Portia.

Roblox-games

Roblox

The one worried me at first and for good reason. The fact that it is online and there are scams, I was very hesitant to let my children on. However, the lockdown meant that I was looking for new places for my children to play. They both love Roblox and have played obstacle courses, races, horse games and many more. It has also cost me a lot buying Robux, the in-game currency. But make sure you check out my Parents Guide To Roblox to ensure that you know what to educate your children on first.

Lego-Star-Wars-1

The Lego Games

From Harry Potter to The Incredibles, these titles should be obvious. The Lego games are easy to pick up and play and have lots to do when playing. The on-screen multiplayer means they can play with friends or even parents.

When they are older…

hello-neighbor

Hello Neighbor

My girls love this game. It is a ‘horror’ game for children as you play a child who must get into a neighbor’s house after hearing something suspicious. However, the clever neighbor is patrolling his house and you have to avoid being caught. It is very intense, but fun and my children go a little crazy during each game.

fortnite

Fortnight

For the most part, Fortnight for children is a big game of ‘hide and seek’. 50 players drop onto an island and you have to be the last one standing. You can drive cars, build forts, and generally roam the island. There is gunplay when you meet other players but it’s not the main part of the game.  Player can ‘squad up’ and play solo, in two, threes or fours meaning friends can play together either on the couch or online.

Clementine

The Walking Dead

Yes, believe it or not, The Walking Dead game that came out last year is a great choice for women. In fact, I know a handful of girls who love the game. Though sure there are zombies and gore, there are also making tough decisions, great characterization, a compelling story and more emotion behind it than almost any game to date. It’s worth it for any girl gamer to pick up.

Mass Effect Trilogy

Mass Effect is one of many games where people can choose to have a female main character, but it sets itself apart because unlike other female characters in RPGs, there’s actual character and substance to the female Shepard. In fact, Bioware designed a specific “FemShep” before Mass Effect 3 was released, using her in alternate trailers and creating an awesome fanbase around her. The games themselves are fantastic but girls will love to play a character that has staying power.

Detective games are hard to get right, as a true detective needs to analyze the crime scene, uncover suspects, find holes in their testimony, and then use facts, common sense, and deductive reasoning to piece together the jigsaw to make that miracle breakthrough. It’s never quite like those Murder Mystery Dinner Party Games where you can look people in the eye and weigh up the evidence right in front of you.

Don’t get me wrong, some games do parts of it very well. For example, the evidence inspection in L.A Noire and the Scanning equipment in Condemned are both excellent. Similarly, In Phoenix Wright, being able to find holes in a suspect’s story is almost arcade-like and great fun. With this in mind, I wanted to round up some of the best murder mystery games currently available, so you can ‘get your sleuth on’ and crack that case wide open.

the-sexy-brutale

The Sexy Brutale

This wonderfully stylized indie game is the perfect whodunnit. Set at an extravagant masquerade party, the guests are being murdered all over the bizarre Sexy Brutale casino mansion.
However, at midnight, the clock rewinds, and the grisly pantomime all plays out again in exactly the same way. As the only person seemingly unaffected, you must watch, spy, and try to learn each guest’s secrets, so you can save them from their bloody fate.

council-game

The Council

You play Louis de Richet, the wealthy son of Sarah Faustine de Richet and member of The Golden Order, a fictional secret society. With your mother missing, presumed dead you are tasked with investigating the house and the colorful characters within it, to seek out the truth behind your mother’s disappearance. The Councils uses expansive dialogue options allowing players to delve deep into the characters’ stories. It is up to you what you believe and should you take a wrong turn, you may be the next to disappear.

vanishing of ethan carter

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

When investigator Paul Prospero receives a fan letter from 12-year-old Ethan Carter inviting him to his hometown, Prospero discovers that Ethan has gone missing and begins encountering evidence of recent violence in the village as well as unsettling paranormal phenomena. Through uncovering the events leading up to the disappearance you discover human sacrifice, suicide, and malevolent forces at work. But can you solve the mystery of this tiny mining village?

firewatch-review-xbox one

Firewatch

In Firewatch, you play Henry, a fire lookout in Shoshone National Forest, Wyoming. From Day One, you’re only real contact is Delilah, a lookout in another watchtower who you speak to via walkie-talkie. After investigating some illegal fireworks by the lake, you are embroiled in a mystery and after the discovery of a boy’s body, it is up to you to put the pieces together before the forest wildfires drive you away and destroy all the crucial evidence.

wolf-among-us

The Wolf Among Us

The Wolf Among Us is a Telltale Game similar to The Walking Dead, but based on The Fables comic book series in which the old fairy tale characters live amongst regular people in a hidden community in 1980s New York City. You play Bigby Wolf, formerly the Big Bad Wolf, a sheriff who finds a woman’s head left on a doorstep. You must follow a trail of clues and question the various characters from Snow White to the Magic Mirror to find the killer.

shenmue

Shenmue

Recently remastered for modern consoles, this Sega Dreamcast classic was an amazing open-world murder mystery that built the foundations for GTA and Fallout. Shenmue is looking for his father’s killer and must talk to various suspects, uncover vital clues and, if you have time, play some classic Sega games in the arcade. Shenmue is a martial arts student and whilst he can hold his own in a fight, much of the game is spent searching for clues, examining objects, and talking to non-player characters for information on your father.

heavy-rain

Heavy Rain

Originally released in 2010 and then re-released in 2019, Heavy Rain follows four people brought together by a serial killer. When one of the protagonist’s children is taken by the Origami Killer the game moves between these four people with Ethan being the main character. The killer calls him and demands that he complete tests to determine how much he loves his son. Every time he completes one, he will receive a piece of the address where Shaun is held. With a 2,000-page script and over 30,000 animations, this was the most ambitious game of its generation and worth playing.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments

We can’t have a murder mystery without the most famous detective of them all; Sherlock Homles. Crime and Punishments include five distinct cases with most involving a dead body and a requirement for you to gather clues and enter your mind palace to connect the clues together. Whether you are finding the killer of Black Peter, the whaling captain or a renowned archaeologist found dead in the locked steam room, you will need to build up your deduction board if you hope to solve the murders and uncover the true nature of the Merry Men.

Whilst this list could go on to include the previously mentioned L.A. Noire, Murdered: Soul Suspect, D4, and the new Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, there are too many to list. Similarly, if you look at the myriad side quests in games like Assassins Creed and Red Dead Redemption, you will find another treasure trove of murder mystery mini-games. However, in my opinion, these seven are the best examples of Murder Mysteries that you can play today.

If you have more to add, reach out on social media and tell me your favorite.

Although numerous categories are available, action games are arguably the most popular types of video games worldwide. The genre spans arcade-style titles like Tekken to first-person-shooters such as Call of Duty. EA’s series of wrestling and MMA games is yet another facet of this incredibly varied game genre. Everybody will have their ultimate preferences, and it’s interesting to see how this changes around the world.

For example, a 2019 survey on Mexican children’s top gaming genres found that Mexican children prefer wrestling or fighting games. On the other hand, American and British gamers vote overwhelmingly for FPS titles like Call of Duty or Fortnite. Popular action games differ worldwide for various reasons, particularly due to cultural differences and game availability. Keep reading for an exploration of popular action games around the world.

Different Types of Action Games

It’s worth clarifying the different categories before exploring the most popular action games worldwide. The term “action” means different things depending on who you talk to, although there is a core group of action game subgenres to consider:

  • First-person-shooter: Often abbreviated to FPS, first-person-shooter titles are war-inspired games where players control a character in first-person view. Famous examples include Fortnite or Battlefield.
  • Wrestling/fighting: Wrestling and fighting games take sports like MMA as vital inspiration. These games have become more advanced over the last few years as developers find ways to make grappling and special moves more realistic.
  • Arcade-style: Some of the earliest action games were Tekken and Street Fighter. These 2D titles were all the rage in arcade halls before making the jump to modern consoles like the Playstation or Xbox.
  • Adventure: Not all adventure games are full of action, but some of the most popular certainly air. Titles like Red Dead Redemption or Skyrim are packed with action sequences accompanying the various quests, missions, and explorations.

Most Popular Action Titles

Choosing the most popular shooting games or action-adventure titles is tricky. There are so many exceptional games out there, so it’s difficult to whittle them down to just a few. You can find a few of our favorite choices below:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Rockstar Games made several remarkable improvements in this Red Dead Redemption sequel. The game map is unbelievably huge, rendered with jaw-dropping HD graphics. However, the best update is the improved shooting engine. It makes for some nail-bitingly tense shootouts, resulting in a truly brilliant action game.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: First-person-shooters owe a lot to the Call of Duty franchise. The series of games was the first to offer players a fully functioning online multiplayer mode. In the last decade and a half, it has become the most popular shooting game in the world.
  • Fortnite: Fortnite essentially invented a whole new “Battle Royale” genre a few years ago. Gamers couldn’t get enough of the straightforward premise: battle against up to 30 different people on an island while picking up new guns and building structures to help you survive.

How Action Game Preferences Differ Across The World

How much do action game preferences differ across the world? As it turns out, quite a lot. For example, action games in the US are almost exclusively dominated by first-person shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield. If they aren’t traditional FPS games, US players will enjoy adventure action games like Grand Theft Auto. Unlike in neighboring Mexico, there isn’t a huge market for sports action games like MMA.

Elsewhere, New Zealanders love a broad mix of action games, mainly focusing on FPS titles and adventure games. However, these aren’t the only popular games. In fact, Kiwis tend to prefer non-action games like FIFA or their beloved pokies. Slots, in particular, are prevalent in New Zealand, and it’s clear to see why with the quality of bonus features and game mechanics. The best casino bonuses in the country are generous as well, so Kiwis enjoy various deposit matches and other bonuses. Players are treated to offerings, including free spins and generous bonus funds. Of course, with a country of such sporting excellence, most New Zealanders love sports games just as much as action titles. Regardless of where you are in the world, there is an action game for everyone!
